ITT we discuss trading positions in regards to the Brexit referendum on June 23rd.
I am playing the volatility of the market with $VXX, an ETN which uses short term contracts to match the VIX. The VIX attempts to index the implied volatility of the S&P500.
I bought a vertical call spread with slightly OTM Calls at a strike price of 16 and covering at a strike price of 18. Hopefully I make some bank.
Anyone else playing to volatility or taking forex positions?
>>1309213
After round trip fees I will be risking ~$550 to make a maximum profit of $2000. The contracts expire June 24th.
>>1309213
not knocking the position, that's fine. Implied volatility is a measure in black and shoahs, not VIX. VIX is just explicit volatility.
>>1309276
You are correct.

Gurus: How much do they make, and how do they make it?
I am talking about all the types: self-help / business / spiritual gurus / guides / mentors.
We all know Tai Lopez is a sham (He rents everything he shows in his videos).
But, looking at the massive ad campaigns they run, there must be a lot of profit to be had here.
A common theme seems to be authority. They have a story going to give them credentials (Tai Lopez mansion).
But, how do they monetize? How do they be successful at this?
Expensive courses? Overpriced books?
Knowledge.
I'm going to be a passive aggressive asshole in an attempt to make people respond.
Holy shit /biz/ I ask for a single productive thread, with a perfectly outline and relevant topic, and no replies? What you want to bitch about your /poor parents/ or /poor feels/ or make another blogpost about how EVERYTHING ELSE is at fault?
Jesus fucking christ. One attempt at a productive thread, and nothing happens.
Go shitpost about your memecoins and how "Lel get rich quick xDDD D nocoiners on suiciiidie waaatch".

As I started making more money, I've lost interest in pursuing women.

Anyone know if this coin is worth anything, found it in my change but never seen one before?
Whats the chance of finding something valuable in your normal change?
IS IT TOO LATE TO INVEST IN TRUMP COIN?
People are dumping in response to bitcoin's pump, so now is the best time to buy actually.
Your good all the way until November anon.
>>1301514
>People are dumping in response to bitcoin's pump
Whats funny is if they just held, TRUMP would continue to rise, and at same time the value of each Sitoshi would be rising. That's profiting on two coins while holding one.
Im a princeton grad and everything i learned at princeton i could have learned at a local community college, or through online references and videos. Engineering at college is something to consider, but you dont have to go to stanford or cal tech or mit to get into a local circle of engineers that can help you just as much as professors and TA's at a top university can.
But womens studies majors? Communications majors? Politics majors? I would argue that a womens studies major from an ivy or stanford is less valuable than someone with a GED who took a couple computer classes at a local community college and has some basic skills.
The reason ppl go "ooh" and "aah" when you tell them princeton harvard yale
Stanford isnt because you get something there that you couldnt get from wikipedia and some professional friends. The main point is that you were accepted, which means you are more likely to be a talented person than the avg bloke u meet at starbucks. But there was a large portion of my classmates at princeton who took their forever-in-the-library work ethic and
hallucinated it into a belief that they were actually smart. Dont get me wrong, some of my classmates were highly intelligent. But many were just avg idiots riding the wave of their own ego.
In summation, my main point is that spending more than a few thousand dollars per year on college is a truly hilarious proposition today. Hanging out with computer nerds who truly show signs of curiosity will boost your intelligence far more than hanging with the "work hard, play hard" losers in college who study 5 hrs a day then go pose at parties, getting their confidence from their gpa, as if that had more than a single digit percent correlation with intelligence.
>>1301346
Wow, the depression really hurt the job market
even Princeton grads are trying to lessen the amount of degree holders they have to compete with

Wenn einer der mit mühe kaum
Gekrochen ist auf einen baum

So irrt sich der
If one who - with ease -
Climbs up a tree
And thinks he is a bird
Then he is wrong
Old german saying
I made the same experience and am horrified to find out that these stupid (relative speaking) people who only study are becomings doctors and what not and think they are the shit
>>1301355
Its not that complicated.
An efficient economy should pay based on how few ppl in the world there are that can do what you do. Your innate intelligence plays a large role in determining how valuable (rare) you are to an economy. Much larger than how much you payed for or where you went to college. There is a large disconnect between the ideal (efficient economy) situation and the current situation. Fighting economics is kind of like trying to stop a force of nature. In the long run, it just doesnt work. Just like with the dynamics of drug smuggling. The demand in the us is there, so drugs literally seep across the border as if powered by osmosis. What is really powering the osmosis has to do with the true nature of economics. Economies want to adjust; they want to pay you what youre worth. Right now alot of ppl are trying to fight it, but its a losing battle at this point. It may take a comprehensive economic collapse in order to effectively shake off the leeches, but it will happen one way or another. I dont worry about being valuable to society, if thats what you are insinuating. Like the dea trying to stop the flow of drugs, so too will the status quo fail to keep ppl like me from wrecking it for amusement
WAVES release is in 3 days.
>What is WAVES?
WAVES is a coin that focuses on smart contracts rather than just moving money around.
>How can I buy WAVES?
On June 14th, it will be released on major exchanges.
>Is this a pump and dump?
Unlikely, it's already been confirmed for use in the Mycelium wallet.
>Raised $14 million in the ICO
>Confirmed for respectable wallet
>Why are you still waiting on ETH when this actually has potential?
You can pre-purchase WAVES now on yobit.

Sure it isn't.
Worst interview question that you have ever been asked.
Recruiter, "If you were an animal, what animal would you be?"
I would be a turtle so i can crawl back into my shell.
I'm not very good at being a slime ball, otherwise I would be a snail.
>>1296693
Both animals also reflect my work pace. Slow and steady until a predator comes along and I get eaten.
'Tell us a joke'.
Out of fucking nowhere at the end of an interview with 3 people back when I was 16 looking for some shitty job at a laser tag place. Suffice to say, I didn't get the job because back then I was awkward as fuck.
