Hey /biz/,
So up until yesterday, I had two jobs. The second job is much more enjoyable, pays slightly better, and has much better management. The boss of my second job used to work for the boss of my first job. There are a couple people just like myself that work(ed) at both places. This, for obvious reasons, makes things awkward considering the boss of the second job used her connections of the first job to get workers to come work for her.
Last night, due to scheduling difficulties and frustration in general with management, I put in my two weeks notice at the first job. There is now a rumor going around (spread by a dumbass from job 2) that if you quit from job 1, you will be fired from job 2.
I doubt the validity of this rumor, but what I'm wondering is, can they do this? Is there anything law or something that could protect me from being fired from job 2? I looked online but really couldn't find much. I'm in Ohio if that means anything. Thanks in advance /biz/!

Lol ask your boss.
It's called communication son.
Besides why would boss #2 give a single fuck if you quit your other job?
>>1331600
Boss 2 worked for Boss 1 and were friends. They say that they still are but I think there's a lot of contention. I think Boss 2 wants people to still work for Boss 1 so it doesn't look like she stole workers and so that she doesn't feel bad.
You fuckers were all saying Deutsche Bank was collapsing like lehmann. I didn't believe that shit for a second, went in with 5k @ 13.12 a week ago

Are any /biz/nessmen in sales?
How are you doing? Was it tough starting out? Was/is it commission only? How do you like it?
I've been told that no profession pays as much as sales, that literally the sky is the limit (unless commission cap).
I'm well educated, have a nice smile, and can talk to people easily but I would not define myself as a "closer." Also, I'm not a shark, so to speak, looking for blood. Is the profession still viable for me?
Finally, what industries are recommended? I'm in the western united states, so I'd like to get into solar sales if at all possible, but Solar City is not hiring in my area just yet.

If you can't close in sales you can't live.
...1: ask their problem. 2 Hammer the problem, 3 offer the solution...

Internet marketing is really great. I do pretty well, around 10k a month. You can sell SEO, lead generation, web design, reputation management, etc all for around 1k a month to any small or mid size business.
I sell 50 leads to plumbers or other service industry professionals for 899 and I can target every plumber in my city. Only need 10 to hit 5 figures a month.

> How is it free?
They invest your unsettled funds after a trade.
It's also pretty basic software.
> When is it coming to my country?
Probably never. They only have plans on an Australian beta ( https://robinhood.com/au/).
> It's been X days, why isn't my account isn't verified yet?
If it takes more than 3 days, try emailing their support. They are very good.
> Is this the right place to pump and dump and/or shill a worthless stock?
No, please go to Stocktwits, Plebbit, or one of our many chat groups.
> I hit sell when the stock was X.XX, but it actually sold at a lower price, am I being jewed?
No, that would actually be illegal. Robinhood graphs are just shit and only show you an average, not-really-realtime price. To get Bid/Ask prices and important things like candlestick graphs, you should use a more robust platform.
> Where can I get better charting or bid/ask?
thinkorswim is bretty gud if you want to go open a second account with real broker.
Otherwise you should be using Yahoo/Google finance or even Stocktwits for your graphing in addition to Robinhood.
> If I have Robinhood do I need to worry about 'Free riding' violations?
No, its not applicable for limited margin accounts (instant), and if you don't have instant, RH won't let you buy with unsettled funds
> Can I use Robinhood on my PC?
Yes, download an android emulator. Setup is extremely easy. http://www.memuplay.com/

We had a green market today, lets see the results!

2ND FOR GEVO
I'm very against the Franchise model of business growth. Especially these days, I think that young people are pissed that they work at a store (ex: McDonalds, but could be almost any retail job) that they display the symbol on their shirt, but don't get paid by or any support from. Owners get sold "be your own boss!" but get overworked and lack any real control of operation. Everyone loses except the Franchisor who rakes in huge profits.
What should we do about the cancer of Franchise growth in America?
I have to assume you're a neet in training.
Wearing a uniform at work shows the customer who the employees are, and creates a standard level of appearance.
If you don't want to wear the shirt, stop taking their money.
And for your solution... spend $4 million to buy your own McDonalds store, then pay your people $30 per hour (for the 1 year you're still in business)

I work at a Starbucks (a Franchise) where I've been for a year. Unlike other fast food places, most Starbucks are corporatly run (I think about 75%) and they are extremely picky about who they francise to, only to large well established companies. This is very beneficial by providing a good foundation for employees. I get benefits and a decent wage.
Compare this to Subway, where every single store is a franchise and the service is shit and turnover rates are high. The difference is night and day.
Dear /biz/, what do about a bad google review for my company? Like its a fucking awful review. Its literally our only google review.
Its by a person we have no record of ever dealing with, and they claim we are scammers that got a $5000 downpayment out of them, and claimed that we never recieved the money. They go on to say a bunch of other shit about how our products are garbage and we should never be trusted, and that my wife harrased them over the phone. Its straight up slander.
Can it even be removed?
Its pretty devastating when you are a family run company and the first thing that pops up when people google your company is a single review that is this bad.We have a facebook page with tons and tons of happy customers, and so I dont know what the deal is. Maybe its one of the people we've fired using a fake name?
>>1331395
maybe report the post for google, also ask your customers that like you on facebook that they share it on google too because you are being unfairly attacked by a competitor.
one time I sent a dick pic to one of my ex-coworkers, and I'm afraid that my she told our boss, my employer reference for Dominoes pizza, and I'm gonna be labeled a sex - offender if she speaks with my future employers.
Can I leave a fake phone number in her place?
I had the same problem last year with a bunch of SJWs leaving fake reviews accusing us of being rapists and racists
I eventually got all but one of them taken down after hours on the phone with over 30 different street shitting poojet "managers"
They have a stupid rule of not removing reviews that appear to be based on experience. So the better they lied, the harder or impossible it will be to get it taken down.
Make sure to reply to the review and keep it as professional as possible. Do not insult this person or threaten them. Just flat out state that this is a fake review, you've never worked for this person, and then give a heart felt we are a trusted family business blah blah blah thing.
Again, keep it very neutral and fact based. The goal is to expose him as a liar, not to self incriminate by acting like a bitch.
Is this a price mistake? Is it possible to make money off this?

It's either fake or "out of fashion".
Post the link and I will check out the seller profile.
I'm learning code apps rn but is the app making industry a viable method of making money (ad revenue/selling it).
>inb4 kneepads/mouthwash
>>1331315
It was once. Now making an app that becomes popular is like winning the lottery. Best bet is making a game that is an innovation of a previously popular game.
Case point: Slither.io is super popular, some sources state the developer makes 100k PER DAY in revenue (others state 30k/day but still it's a shitload). The app idea is simply an innovation of the website agar.io.
>>1331325
that being said, agar.io also makes tonnes of money itself. But the point is if you wanna make big money: copy a popular game with your own unique twist and hope it gains popularity. If it doesn't keep trying until something sticks.

Thanks, will take this into consideration. Appreciate the response.

> tired of programming, think it's not that fulfilling
> have job that i cant quit until end of summer
> money is decent but not great at all
what do to get motivated again, help me
I hear the same from my brother puking down a 6-figure salary for development.
You both need a project of your own. Not shit enterprise cobbling for shit management, something you're interested in. I write software for my own business and I get great satisfaction out of doing it my way instead of settling for some durkadurka's cobblework.

What's the best open source real time stock tracking/monitoring software?
I just got a new computer monitor and I wanna use it for stock monitoring.
yahoo finance
thinkorswim
I want to make more money. I'm motivated.
Everyone told me to learn about money but how ?
Could you recommand me some books or links so i can get started ?
>>1331281
Before you start, you need to stop being so fucking retarded and putting spaces between the last word in your sentence and the question mark.
>>1331288
Okay but that doesn't answer my question.
>>1331288
>implying you can't learn theory unless you can type
That's what PA's are for.
>implying even people with dyslexia can't be successful.
Like Richard Branson?
>correcting people's grammar on a Norwegian Relief Skipper forum
Nobody cares. Kill yourself.
OP, Rich Dad, Poor Dad.
That's a start.
Is this someone on Youtube? If so, he's probably not legit. The only people who can actually help you are connections you make in real life. People who watch shitty videos, listen to podcasts, and buy books are the ones who never make it.
Will this flood of idiots ever stop?
>>1331254
No, dumbass.
Saw no such thread so it's time to make one
Also stop spamming referral links as this keeps the threads being deleted
So from what I understand the concept of HashOcean is basically :
1.) You invest x-amount of money once and buy hardware which HashOcean has in some big ass halls in one of those 7 data centres
2.) That hardware just starts to mine Bitcoin for you without you having to do anything
3.) Get paid
Did I get this correctly?
Also share your thoughts and experiences. Is this a legit way to generatemoney? What risks do you potentially see
>>1331246
don't fall for the meme. /biz/ just shills for their own referral links
>>1331246
if anyone posts a shill link this thread gets deleted too
>>1331248
well it's been around for a year now and many reviews claim it's legit so I don't instantly want to call it a meme
