This is a blue board which means that it's for everybody (Safe For Work content only). If you see any adult content, please report it.

Im probably gonna get an either ADD or ADHD adult diagnosis in a few days, unless I decide not to.
Any bro here who can tell me if there is any potentially major consequence to having a diagnosis like this? Like financially, educationally, diplomatic wise etc...

Would very much appreciate it, as once I have it, it's there forever.... yikes

Hey /biz/

I have $360 in my Robinhood Instant account and I was thinking of the following strategy:

On Monday through Thursday:

Make a day trade of HV stocks on each day. All in on one stock, waiting for a dip, buy low sell high etc.

On Friday, buy a blue chip that I can sell on Monday and be able to use the funds immediately to repeat.

heh I was gonna do the same thing, just Yolo on the dip for 3 of the 5 days and then blue chip stocks for Thursday and Friday. I don't know about holding a stock over the weekend though it's too risky.
First I need to get instant though
>>
>>1344929
I was thinking the same thing dude. I have 1400 capital. Diversifying when we have such little capital is pointless. I'm about to adopt this yolo instant strategy. Just say fuck it and see what happens. The problem with everyone in the general is that they want 100% in a day moon rides. Those are rare, but picking a stock that goes up 3-5% a day isn't that hard. Have you ever heard of random walk theory? This is along the same lines of this. Fuck it. I'm joining your yolo club OP.

God euro girls can get ugly.

as ugly as your plan. Do you have robinhood instant?

You're also subject to pattern daytrade rules when you have less than 25k in the account. law limits you to 5 per week.

Just turned 18 and want to start investing! How and where do I start? Will be thankful for any help.

Someone will be along to direct you to Robinhood shortly.
You can check back to complain, once you've lost 75% of your money.

I'm 19, I'll by 20 by the end of September. I dropped out of college. I was studying philosophy, the course was too easy and I was surrounded by people who educated themselves through shitty YouTube channels. The whole atmosphere was unbearable and ruled by pseudo-intellectualism.

I want to be a filmmaker, it's my only goal and dream. I'm from a working class family, my parents can't afford to pay a film school. I'm willing to be a wage slave and work for my film school but I think there must be another way to succeed.

Fatalism isn't for me. I grew up in France, a country where "social determinism" became an excuse for failures but I like the idea of being a self-made man.

I know some of you succeeded, at least financially. Can you give some advices? I need to get my shit together and I know I can learn from some of you.

Advice? Network. If you wanna make it in the film industry, you have to go to a lot of gatherings and make a lot of connections. Save up as much money as you can, buy film equipment, and make amateur films with your friends. Create a social media presence by releasing them online (YouTube, Instagram, Facebook) preferably in snippets. Register a film company. Have film runs in your house, charge like 5$ before slowly but surely increasing. I'm moving to a small college town for my graduate school, and it's the perfect place to do this kind of thing. Give me some contact info if you want to continue talking.

Thanks!

Learn humility you're not as smart as you think, child
Get a Bachelor's degree. You can barely earn a living wage without one. You have to have one to work at Starbucks ffs

>coworker's face when op spouts philosophy shit lel

As a person in a similar situation but music instead of filmmaking i would advise against school for a creativity related field. All the douchenozzles that go to music schools are retards and end up coming out thinking they are skilled because they paid 30,000 for something that can be learned online. They also end up working at starbucks instead of music.

bitcoin halves on July 11th, what type of prices can we expect just before and just after. should i wait till after it halves to buy?

I'm personally thinking $800 for the price

Reason being it was~400 before the bull run leading up to the halving started.

So, buy before then.

There will be a few noteworthy plunges after the halving, when scores of investors sell off their bitcoins post-halving, hoping to cash in on what you speak.
>>
>>1344672
>>1345083
Considering the reduction in supply alone should theoretically raise the price like he said, I agree that buying in now will return ~ 20% by September or November.

When you combine this with the relationship bitcoin has with the yuan at a time when it is bring incrementally devalued, and bitcoins relatively gains as an alternative to gold in times of uncertainty (Brexit, Trump, etc) I think that $800 is a safe expectation, especially since it would only be slightly above the previous peak days ago. I think that if Trump manages to recover and establish some form of lead over Clinton, it will be a notable boon for Bitcoin (and bane for the markets at large) as it would add to the uncertainty.

You're lucky, I'm an overworked SQL/Excel jockey too, but my pay is shit. Took the job to get my foot in the door somewhere, economy was in the toilet here so jumped on the first thing that came along, after a few months of looking.

Learned a ton from it, but there's no real area for progression now, and the atmosphere is becoming toxic in there.

Dunno, need to get out, but I'm wondering if there's much to be gained by being a higher paid excel monkey somewhere else, or if I should cash in excel monkeying for being a codemonkey instead.

Somewhere nice and stable that isn't going to hit panic mode every second week when the CEO freaks out and starts micromanaging everything.

I've never seen a bread about being fluent in foreign language and how it applies to /biz/. What's your take on learning a foreign language? What are some large companies that have offices in other countries? What languages are best? Pic sorta related, they speak French in Canada.
5 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
I don't know anyone who has derived much benefit from knowing a second language.

One time, way back, I knew a guy who was picked first to go to our office in Germany because he knew some German. But we all went later anyway, so not much of an upside there.

I know a lot of people who know Chinese, Spanish, Hindi (multicultural workforce), they all just do the same damn job I do.

Unless you're going for an actual translator position, I'm skeptical.
>>
You need to combine it with an underlying skill.
It goes a long way towards being irreplaceable.

but that's limited to fields where you have significant interaction with different markets.

The more difficult your field the easier it is to compete with foreign language expertise. b/c narrower field.

But most companies overseas is not their market.

my friend sells upscale watches knows french english spanish and creole, hes the area manager for the southern US and Caribbean. base 80k, plus 10% commission on 20k+ watches.

they'd almost certainly have to replace him with minimum 2 people of equivalent sales skill.
>>
My bro is multilingual and I swear it has given him an amazing way of thinking. The way he structures arguments is fantastic, as if he's thinking things through in three different grammar styles at once, allowing him to arrive at a solid point really quick

He might have always been that smart but I really think learning any skill really gets you thinking in new ways - learning a language is just measurable in terms of success level

they decided to soft fork to try to blacklist and lock the dao theft account. there are lots of problems and complications with it so now people are predicting a hard fork fix option to actually take the money back.

this is not only bad for the immediate consequences of increasing the supply but also the future implications of them having so much power to do this and how governments and banks will want to use it and the fact that that is the option that bails out the dao holders when so many of the highest investors are tied in some kinda way to the eth development team...

>>1344592
i dont think it's going lower than 9.98usd. but you should've moved all that eth to SC 2 hours ago. it may continue to drop with speculator sentiment so low in the wake of all these events and the newfound twitter silence from eth authorities.

it is a brilliant and exciting project for the future but for now, it is a shit show.

So I see a lot of youtubers who make atheism and feminism related videos get lots of steady views and instant subscribers on YouTube.

This is a market I can corner right now as no one in my country is doing this.

Problem is I live in a third world shithole and making fun of or denying god might get me killed.

Also I might get attacked for speaking about women's rights. Like IRL getting beaten.

Should I just commentate and do it anyway? As long as I change my voice a little or use one of those text to speech softwares and don't show my mug I should be fine right guys?

nice blogpost OP
>>
If these opinions are so controversial and taboo in your country - why do you think there even is a market to corner? If there were a lot of like-minded people, society would have already shifted towards a more liberal attitude.

Regarding text to speech: sure, if you want nobody to watch, that's the way to go.

Show me your numbers. How many regular viewers do you assume you can get? What'll be the CPM and income after tax and expenses? Is it worth creating a controversial indelible record of edgy extrimist positions that'll haunt you for the rest of your life?

Don't cut corners by going after haters. Do good content, have high production quality, produce a steady output and keep at it. In 3 years you'll have built a few loyal followers. In 5 you'll be known and can maybe start thinking about living off of content creation.
