How do I monetize a website without banner ads?
>>1366118
Have a product that you push (game, application, service, premium content, whatever).
Have a store on the site with related goods (hats, shirts, etc).
Ask for donations. Enjoy no one donating ever.
Get huge and then sell your users' data.
Run events that require buy-in.
Make it have paid subscriptions.
>>1366118
what kind of site is it? is it one you could charge a subscription for? or have premium content on? or connect it to a monetised JewTube channel?
How much should I be spending on rent? I make ~40k a year 21 yo only have 15k in student loans living in the hood now and feel like I rather spend a little extra to be more comfy
>>1365990
You're not doing bad enough to be living in the hood.
I would find a cheap, but safe and comfortable place to live in close to your job. After all stolen cars are more expensive.
You're 21 so you could afford a comfy apt for $1000 and under possibly or you could share a house with 4 other young people and pay $500 or less each.
Anyways yeah don't take saving your money for investment to an extreme like that. It's not healthy.
You're about to get a wave of anons telling you some bs like:
>Save water by pissing on a water bottle and throwing it away.
>Don't use ac
>Live off ramen
>Donate blood every week
>>1365999
I'm 29 also make 40K but have no debt and I'm also living in the ghetto for 625/mo.
I saved up 20K but have nothing to do with it and I don't care whether I live in the ghetto or not. Am I just being too cheap or is it different since I'm older so I should work harder to save?
People with my income spending 1000/mo seems crazy to me.
>>1365999
A while grand? Nice. I was thinking like 700 max
I had an idea. I could code a 360º video format that instead of buffering the whole video at once, only buffers a small area of the possible sphere of vision, allowing you to watch 360ª videos in a much higuer quality without spending as much bandwiddth.
Is this viable? Could I monetize it somehow?
>>1365923
I'm almost 100% sure that they have done this already and had poor results.
>>1365923
Seriously? No, of course not.
People like to be constantly looking around and having fun with the video. Silly but true.
>>1365923
that's been tried. the moment you change your field of view, the quality turns to shit as there's nothing buffered
I want to start a business and make enough money to get out of my parents house.
I can code anything, have a computer, internet, and food.
I have been trying to come up with ideas for months but I have no contacts, no idea what businesses need, no idea on anything. I just can code and learn whatever I need to.
Can you business geniuses help?
>>1365906
sorry man, you can't "code anything" or you wouldn't be in that position.
What about coding a bot to trade crypto for you, coding databases for micro businesses, or coding some meme website that scrapes info from somewhere else and put ads on it
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zOtaxwGles0
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DZ8PfXOV1fU

Make a meme/joke site about songs which sing about money.
>>1365906
Why do you have two of these transsexual scat fetish threads going, you stupid useless faggot?
Hey biz,
Thoughts on buying and holding gold for the next couple of months?
>>1365842
you guys are always too late to the party
>>1365842
Potentially a good idea, because a recession is due soon, but the main issue is uncertainty on what "soon" means (i.e. whether it's within the next year or within the next four years).
a few months ago was a good time to buy gold, now the price is pretty high thanks to generally weak stocks and now the brexit
Any Britbongs looking to make some Brexit bucks?
I've been heavy in gold and oil all as well as global index funds all year, which have been fantastic since Sterling went to shit.
Despite this, considering liquidating these gains because I feel a happening.
Gold seems overbought. Banks seem oversold but DB looks like it's about to collapse.
Considering buying Lloyds and Persimmon. D-do I?
Where abouts do you live? Im in the north, I camouflage in ea7 tracksuits and Nike TN's to escape the wrath of the chavs. I buy curry and kebab from the pakis so i dont get dindud'. I wonna start a business but the government have me by the balls. Who am I? I am the working and middle lower class of the UK, every last one of em. Whats the answer? Whats the way out of this hell? Well lemme tell you.................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................. pic related.
>>1365912
>tfw established middle class as of last month
I might just make it.
So bongs, what are you buying?
Let me know. I'm interested to hear.
I used to buy a bit of the majority of global index funds, but the £ is so weak I'm buying only British at the moment. I suspect Sterling could go weaker, but in the long run we'll go up again I'm sure once we go full tax haven mode.
I'm a mathematician. I want to earn shitton of money working in finance. What are my possibilities?
I'm maining in computing/computability and statistics. Also well versed in optimization.
How can I maximize my profit?
Preferably by working for some one.
Any ideas my /biz/natches?
Bump. I'm reading of something like quantitative analysis i.e. quant fund.
This would be something I could find interesting. Are there more professions?
Re-bump. I want to work in Stockholm or maybe London. What kind of employers would I be looking towards?
Am I shadowbanned?

Alright /biz/, I'm studying International Relations at my university, as a requirement, I learn a foreign language. I have a working knowledge of French, and English is my native language. My options are:
Arabic
Chinese
French
German
Japanese
Russian and
Spanish
Assuming I don't land a job in an NGO, i the fed gov't, etc. Which would benefit me the most in private business? I'm assuming Russian, Arabic or Chinese, based on number of speakers, and they're not languages that are very known by Americans.
Also, the official languages of the United Nations are: Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian, and Spanish so one of these would be ideal.
Learning Hebrew goy
I'm serious
>>1365733
It doesn't matter. You won't speak it anyway.
>>1365733
The easiest one is spanish
Take japanese if you like animés
German is a pain in the ass
I'm french btw so i find french easy
Chinese is hard but it's obviously the best one you can take (especially un economics)
Russian is useless
Arabic is useful, especially if you work in agencies or in the oil industry but it's hard
I'd say that if you don't give a shit, you should learn spanish but if you want to look good, take chinese or arabic depending on your future choices in life
Hey /biz/, /agdg/ here. How do I do useful market research?
just buy an index fund, you're not going to discover anything that hasn't already been priced in already
>>1365752
I don't see how that's useful. I'm new to this.
>>1365762
I think what my anonymous friend here is saying is that there are an army of people out there that already know how to do useful market research, who contribute their opinions to large fund holders and who actively trade in the markets you want to get involved with.
With these people already setting the prices for the markets that you want to start researching, the price discovery for the instruments in those markets has already been done and the markets are largely in balance.
it might help future anons if maybe you define which markets you're looking to research, what experience you might have outside your new desire to do useful market research and what your goals are ( long term investment, day trading, statistical arbitrage, etc )
I'm going to china at the end of this month to source suppliers for my online business. Anyone here been to china or have experience with the chinese in business? Any gems or cons to look out for? Any go to places for business? General price range?
>>1365709
>>1365729
This shit right here is the truth. You can't trust the Chinese as a Westerner, you have no face there.
>>1365729
After having had a Chinese roommate for over a year and gone to a university that's 40% foreign Chinese students, I can confirm that they're terrible people. Over there they refer to corruption and bribery as "having connections," and it's completely socially normal and expected.
How can I make more money with just $20
>>1365618
How does it work?
Buy some kneepads and chapstick
>>1365626
It doesn't.
You cant do shit with 20$. Get a job and save up more so you can invest in non crypto markets.
Why is there no European roobin hood or acorns? It seems like these companies found a gold mine yet there is no simular service for European markets. Is it impossible to do from a legal point of view? If they are just delaying release for no good reason how much would it cost to beat them to market in europe if I hire russians to code the entire thing? I mean the alibaba guy basically just translated ebay into moon runes and he is hailed a buisness genius.
>>1365545
>basically just translated ebay into moon runes and he is hailed a buisness genius
lmao so true
>>1365545
there are countless ideas that people are just not willing to work on.
>moon runes
kek
So, /biz/, i have almost finished my sci-fi novel. I want them published and i tried very hard to make it pretty awsome. If they get published (not in english) what are the chances of success? Is it a smart bussiness investment? How many % of the the prices does the autor of the book get? I know it's different in every country but still, how is it in the USA for example? And in the European countries?
Can you make money with publishing a book?
>>1365513
Publishers are usually open about their %tages. Its all online, for technical books they give 10% of profits, miserable.
Youre better off self publishing on Amazon for 70% of the profit, and spending a grand to shill your book.
>>1365513
Check out Lulu.com. They're very reasonable, it's what I used for my solar thermal instructions manual.
Why is it that all the jobs in tech are either 6 figure salary jobs for only the most talented and experienced developers, or sub-minimum wage jobs going to indians and eastern europeans?
Where is the middle ground for someone like me who isn't a genius, but is competent and willing to work for like $40k a year?
>Why is it that all the jobs in tech are either 6 figure salary jobs for only the most talented and experienced developers, or sub-minimum wage jobs going to indians and eastern europeans?
the reason it works like this is that it simply makes the most economic sense for most companies to operate this way. if you have a skill that is in demand they are willing to pay you a good salary, if you have a skill that is very common there is no reason to pay you well for it.
>>1365507
would it blow your mind to know that there are intermediate tech jobs, you just only hear about the extremes because every single thread here is screaming about one of them?
>>1365554
That's not really true though. I'm talking from personal experience looking for a job. Literally all I have seen available are extremely high pay positions requiring a million different skills, degrees, and many years of experience, or unpaid "internships." Then there's the freelance sites where every job pays $2 an hour.
Helo, is dis jab? I ned jab. I stert tomoraw
lmao!
sorry but dis is da NEET office,
Helo, this jab. Only unpaid internship. Stert tomoraw
