LOOK ANOTHER BITCOIN THREAD!!
Serious question though. Is investing in bitcoin and I mean serious investing like over $15000 not profitable. Even if electricty was a non issue? My family owns a farm and we run on natural gas generators. I have done the math with our specific generator and looking at our monthly bill and 10 therms = 1 million btus. our generator is 200 amp with 20 kw 208-240 v
if I were to purchase 16 s7 miners they would they would run the generator at near 100% which is 308000 btus which = 3 therms. A therm costs $.05 so basicaly would be paying $.15 an hour to run these machines rather than $2.58 an hour on electricity. According to bitcoin calculators and adjusting with 7% increase in difficulty monthly i would be making well over $3500 a month
WHAT AM I DOING WRONG. IS THIS A GOLDMINE THAT I SHOULD TAKE THE OPPORTUNITY TO TAKE?
>>1369786
>IS THIS A GOLDMINE THAT I SHOULD TAKE THE OPPORTUNITY TO TAKE?
simple answer is no
>>1369814
why not? seriously? everybody on this site shuts down anyone starting a bitcoin farm simply on the basis of "power costs will put you negatives". Well I have a natural gas generator not being used and it costs nothing when compared to electricity.
>mining payout literally cuts in half tomorrow
>guise should i mine?
lol faggot
but if your electricity is really cheap it might be worth it

Hey /biz/
Long story short , I failed. I went from a ~730 credit score to 620 and falling. I have been ass blasted by an insane debt payment to income ratio for a few months of being unemployed, and the job I found is not even covering a third of what I owe in total each month. I come from a poor family so there's no options there. By this month's end I will be unable to pay my bills.
What can I do to make this easier on myself? I'm looking for a second job but seeing as how I'm only just finishing up an associate degree (paid for, part of why I'm in such debt), even two jobs would not cover it. Is there anything I can do to lighten the burden I'm inevitably going to bear because of this? I owe in excess of 30k and I've never even held a job that paid 30k a year.
Any tips/advice appreciated. Can anyone with bankruptcy experience give me the lowdown?

Bankruptcy. It happens to everyone. Go talk to a bankruptcy lawyer and explain your case, they have heard it all a million times. You are going to be fine if you do this. They understand what happens and deal with it on a daily basis.

Thanks for the reply. Im 24, how badly will bankruptcy on my record affect getting a job in a few years when I graduate? That's the biggest stressor

Bros former NEET Turned wage cuck here trying to make a better life. My question to you is this, is personal freedom worth taking a financial risk on?
> Just turned 31
> Live with parents
> Live in NYC
> Got a job working for the city bureacracy
> After taxes I make 2000 month.
> Have about 11,000 in savings

Guys I want want my own place but I don't think I can afford to live on my own. What can I do fiscally to survive?

Get either a better job or a second job.
Trust me, living out of home will improve your self esteem a lot.
How long have you been working and what's the job?
I need a personal loan of 35,000 within the next 7 days. Credit score 690. Make 45k/year.
What is my best option for securing this money without origination fees and without pre/early repayment fees.
Cheers.
>>1369366
FYI it's to purchase an investment property. Cash only. After a short time I can take out an equity loan against the house and use that to payback the personal loan reducing the interest rate from whatever absurd amount it is to a reasonable 3-5%.
>>1369393
>I can take out an equity loan against the house and use that to payback the personal loan
All I can say is you will have a shitload of fine print to read before getting into trouble unless you want to deal with Guido.
>>1369515
>All I can say is you will have a shitload of fine print to read before getting into trouble
How so. This is a legitimate option as long as there is no repayment penalty on the personal loan and no restrictions on the equity loan.
Which is more valuable? Gold or paper money?

Gold of course.
Depends on the amounts of each retard

--FAQs for Robinhood--
Visit the website first - www.robinhood.com
If you're not into robinhood - http://www.stockbrokers.com/offers
> How is it free?
They invest your unsettled funds after a trade.
It's also pretty basic software.
> When is it coming to my country?
Probably never. They only have plans on an Australian beta ( https://robinhood.com/au/).
> It's been X days, why isn't my account isn't verified yet?
If it takes more than 3 days, try emailing their support. They are very good.
> Is this the right place to pump and dump and/or shill a worthless stock?
No, please go to Stocktwits, Plebbit, or one of our many chat groups.
> I hit sell when the stock was X.XX, but it actually sold at a lower price, am I being jewed?
No, that would actually be illegal. Robinhood graphs are just shit and only show you an average, not-really-realtime price. To get Bid/Ask prices and important things like candlestick graphs, you should use a more robust platform.
> Where can I get better charting or bid/ask?
thinkorswim is bretty gud if you want to go open a second account with real broker.
Otherwise you should be using Yahoo/Google finance or even Stocktwits for your graphing in addition to Robinhood.
> If I have Robinhood do I need to worry about 'Free riding' violations?
No, its not applicable for limited margin accounts (instant), and if you don't have instant, RH won't let you buy with unsettled funds
> Can I use Robinhood on my PC?
Yes, download an android emulator. Setup is extremely easy. http://www.memuplay.com/

Do you educate yourself (Books, seminars, programs, researches) on finance? Do people with the goal of financial thrive educate themselves in general?
There are tons and tons of people claiming "its too hard" , "its impossible" or "you need money to make money" etc. Are those trolls who havent even read 10 books on finance - entrepreneurship - business - self-development or educated hard-working smart people?
when i was just starting out in my career, sure. i work with markets so there was a lot to learn. but the last years i havent really been educating myself that much at all. i know enough to get by and do well, and im not really interested in putting in the time / effort needed to do better.
>>1369176
I've just read Kiyosaki's Rich Dad Poor Dad and my mind was blown away. Reading Kiyosaki's Cashflow Quadrant now, it just sounds so easy. I mean, SO easy once you educate yourself and start seeing the opportunities. I've been reading 100-150 pages/day lately.
What I'm wondering is, why are people this ignorant. I mean, don't they wanna thrive? It's just 2+2=4. You put in the time and the efford to improve your financial literacy and emotional intelligence, then you win.
Or, its just a scam what they say in the books-on the internet.

What do you think you owe your parents?
I don't owe them anything. I told them tonight by the time I'm 30 I will take every single penny they've earned from them for treating me how they did for 20 years.
I will not help them at all and the moment I'm finished college they are dead to me, I will never speak or have anything to do with my family the day I graduate, I'll never ever speak to them after that day.

>>1368836
if you have the skills, build it. if not, hire a developer to build it. expect to pay good money for it though, any developer worth his salt isn't gonna accept a share of the profits/equity in the company for their work

I was recently involved in a motorcycle accident where the other party was at fault 100%, the insurance is trying to pay me out at $1000 plus no more than $3500 for medical expenses. I will be calling tomorrow to deal with the adjustor however I have no idea where to begin, I've done my research and have found that my bike is worth about triple the buy out. Any help is appreciated.

All insurance companies do that. They give you a low estimate and once you complain they give you a proper one. Just bother them until they give you anything close to your motorcycle's value.
>>1368868
This. Thats literally their job to shill you out of your money.
T.e.Lawrence.
No offense but all the riders I know that ride an r6 are cargo shorts, mohawk helmet wearing, shit tier wheelie, weekend riders.
Unfortunate that you had an accident though. Had a similar situation a few years back and they offered me originally 1/4th the value of my bike. Ended up getting about 90% of the value of my bike. If you have any aftermarket parts make sure to include those with receipts because most insurance companies offer like $1-3k coverage on those alone.
