How credible are the people in /biz/?

I only really ever browse /fit/. There is some really good advice in there. Lots of autism and memes, but that's to be expected on 4chan and for the most part the people come off as credible. How does /biz/ compare in terms of credibility?

>>
Usually /biz/ is worse than Jita. Once in a while there are some people who knows what they're talking about, but it's mostly flooded by scammers and losers.

I've been enough on 4chan to be accustomed to this, but imho /biz/ is probably the worst board on 4chan.

Is Economics a good subject for business?

I'm thinking of doing a BSc Econ. I want to earn a lot of money. Is this a good path?

>>
Econ is a good minor.
>>
Did you do a bachelor already?

If not, then yes... Economy is very good, especially in the field of econometrics.

If yes, it depends...
>>
Just be sure you are in a good program. You want something that is heavy on the math and modeling aspects of econ (econometrics), as that is what employers seem to look for. I made the mistake of doing Econ at a CSU and long story short its mostly basic theory and no actual skills employers want. Don't do the dumb like I did.

How large is your profit?
>>
How did you get into this? I was considering something similar. I wonder if anyone is looking for people like me on taskrabbit?
>>

It all depends on the specific release and how many of said negros are interested and how many I am able to obtain.

The sad part is, I am usually not able to abtain the full amount they are asking for, I have been looking for someone at footlocker, etc to come in with me on this to make it more profitable, but I would guess some of the people that work at those stores already sell on eBay etc.

I want to become a psychological therapist of some kind, but I'm not sure how to categorise myself.

I don't have a medical degree, so I can't prescribe medicine or use the word "psychiatrist."

Basically I would be employing mixed Freudian, Jungian, and hypnotic techniques to help my clients get things off their chest, and provide them with gentle explanations for their execrable personal habits, which they can then dissociate themselves from and abandon.

I would rent a small office and deck it out with rugs, blankets, a patient's couch and other stereotypical psychiatric stuff. I would dress like Paul Spector from "The Hunt," sort of dressy casual, very respectable but also very approachable-looking.

How should I go about this from a legal and business perspective? What would you do, /biz/?

You want to be a psychoanalyst. Which basically means getting a PhD if not also a MD. From a legal perspective if you need to be educated and get the proper certifications. From a business perspective it's a matter of building a client base. Within the psychoanalytic community one gets clients basically through mentors and colleagues working out of the same institutions like ICP. It's not an easy path and you'll have to want it.

In general I'd stay away from Freud orthodoxy and Jungian shit. It's good to study these folks but from a clinical perspective staying Freudian would be like operating with a Newtonian model when there are more accurate and updated approaches. If you're in Canada or France you might want to look into the Lacanian groups. IF you're in the UK maybe Tavistock. In the USA check out ICP and maybe Emory's program.

There's no law that gives psychiatrists a monopoly over therapeutic conversation.

There is one for prescribing medicine or claiming medical authority, neither of which I intend to do.

To be honest, I only intend to be one step up from a tarot reader. The conceptual tools I use to create a sense of catharsis could just as easily be drawn from religion as from Freud at al

Since I won't be going the medical-professional route, I'm considering a study of how self-help seminars etc get their customers.

I've been browsing 25 million dollar homes and the amount of variance between them makes me think I would have buyers regret no matter what.

Buy two 10 million dollar homes instead.
>>
>>1388705

At that amount, I would build, not buy.

You might get a bigger house by taking over some cunts idea of a luxury villa, but in return you don't get to decide what you need in a home.
>>
>>1388705
$25 million would be too high for me to buy a house, but at that price point I'd mainly be looking at location and trying to get the most house for the money

How do i deal with insecure and ignorant coworkers?

I'm currently working at a project that involves like 20 or so people, we were discussing how to advertise our work once it's finished and one of them comes up quick with an idea that could have been concieved by a first grader, i politely explain why i think that would be ineffective, misleading and trivial and he goes "lalalalala i'm right you're wrong i'm not listening we'll do as i say" just because he's too afraid to face that he might be wrong and together we could figure out a better alternative.

Now, since i can't insult him or slap the shit out of his silly face, how does usually a mature person behaves in these situations?

Take a couple queues from Machiavelli

Step back and take an analysis of the group. Slowly gain a bigger share of group control by communicating with them like you're already the leader and take charge in decision making.

The worst thing you could do is personally insult someone in a group setting - it makes you seem uncooperative and aggressive, and will cause others in the group to look down on you. Instead, you should quickly accept the idea as a possibility and ask if others have any suggestions. If the idea is just absolutely ridiculous and needs to be squashed, quickly point out why the IDEA wouldn't work without saying anything negative about the speaker. Use inclusive language when talking about the group and single out the speaker and his idea to subtly make him feel like he's trying to break group cohesion.

Turn the group against him by allowing him to show how bad of an idea it's. That'll cut his confidence and allow better ideas to come forth.
>>
>>1388630
Tel him his idea is fucking stupid. Then come up with a better idea. If your idea is worse, you'll end up looking dumber then him.

Man up. Good luck.
>>
>>1388658
that could actually work, but i should rely on the opinion of others, which are equally unskilled on the subject as him but since they might have more common sense this might actually work

Hey, im thinking of getting into betting on sports. The only problem is that Im in the US and its somewhat illegal. Anyone with experience in the US with any websites that you trust?
I found this one website that i feel is pretty legit called Bovada. Has anyone heard of it or know if its a scam or not?
Also is it worth it to have some money in bitcoin and use that instead of linking other information to the website?

Any advice helps, thanks.

No scam. Bovada is the best site out there. Have gotten at least 3 payouts from them and never had a problem. I have also never heard about anyone else having problems.
>>
>>1388597
Did you connect to their site with your bank details or what method did you use?
>>
>>1388600
I always use credit card to deposit and have them send me a check when I want to withdraw. Check is the cheapest option and they charge no fees if you only recieve 1 check per month. It takes a week or so to get to you since they send it from Canada though.

>run a huge investment bank
>spent millions of dollars on calculating market developments and target prices for stocks
>rather than keeping it to ourselves, let's tell the whole world about our conclusions

Why tho?

>>
Same reason people shill their stocks.
>>
>>1388594
first they buy the undervalued stock, then they show the world why they bought it so others buy too -->price rises

its just pump and dump on high lvl
>>
>>1388615
this
>>1388594
If they sus out a few reasons why XYZ is undervalued, they buy it and release their report on their target price a few days later. A bunch of small and medium sized read their report and agree with it, pushing the price higher, while holders that were considering selling now hang on to their stock because some bank said it's a good buy.

It becomes a self fulfilling prophecy.

let's say a large company has a price tag on a pack of gum for $.99 at the register, but when it's rung up, the barcode actually rings it up as $1.99, and people are quietly overcharged under their noses at this store

nobody has noticed this company's mistake. how does one profit off of this?

Buy a whole bunch. Call weights and measures and then anonymously report the discretion. Wait for the day of inspection then walk in when they are inspecting and say you have been buying at the store for years.

Why is the business world so fake? mostly everything is smoke and mirrors. I know two people who have become millionaires, and both are literally just leeches for smarter people. On their own they aren't shit, but they always go to the smart person in the room and leech off them.

Then I know several people who are into MLM.
Most jobs we know machines can do. Many jobs bureacratic maintenance. So my point is what the fuck. Why is everything bullshit?

>>1388274
By leaching of the smart person so you don't have to do any work actually makes you the smarter person
>>
Because becoming rich is literally taking large amounts of money from society, and accepting that everyone else will recieve smaller amounts.

It's not a game of nobility anon.

If businessmen were perfectly honest all the time no one would buy their products and no one would work for them when they see the horrible inequity that is occuring.
>>
>>1388345
>If businessmen were perfectly honest all the time no one would buy their products and no one would work for them when they see the horrible inequity that is occuring.
That's not necessarily true... But in a sense businesses are just middle-men between workers and customers. This can be good for the customer or the worker, like if for instance the workers don't have the resources to themselves provide the equipment they need to do their work (say, a factory) and thus no way to earn money. So a business steps in and says hey, you can work at my factory.
