I'd like to take a moment to talk about NXT.

What is it and are they worth investing in?

I kept hearing about InvesTokens last month ago, but now it changed to ArdorTokens. What is this shit?
>>
The NXT cryptocurrency is getting ready to take things to a new level and move to a second iteration of the platform. The new version of NXT will be called ARDOR and offers better scalability by giving users the opportunity to create their own child chains, secured by the main ARDOR chain.
NXT hodlers will receive tokens that represent part of their stake in the 2.0 system through a snapshot taken from july 14th until ~october 12th. You might have guessed that this will mean many people will hodl on to their coins for a few months, which combined with the 2.0 marketing effort will most probably push the price upward. After the snapshot, hodlers will have both the NXT 1.0 coins (for which dev support will continue at least 2 years) as well as a stake in the new system to be distributed next year.
A second part of the stake will be distributed at launch of the ARDOR / NXT 2.0 platform based on the users' balance at that point.
The NXT team is at this moment organizing a marketing effort to go along with the snapshot.
>>
BUT WAIT, THERE IS MORE:
NXT doesn't secure the network through mining like for instance Bitcoin, but through "forging", where the number of NXT one hodls determines the chance to forge the next block in the blockchain, and earning the transaction fees for that block. A NXT whale has offered 5 million of his NXT to be offered as extra random fees during the snapshot period, so if you have decent hodlings start forging with your NXT and you might be the lucky recipient of one of these bonus fees!
This is also another incentive for people to hold their NXT in the coming months and will help drive the price up. This ABSOLUTE MADMAN has also provably burned 1 million of his own holdings to up the value of everyone else's coins.

Will oil ever go back up?

What's your prediction for Jan 1, 2017 and Jan 1, 2018?

I think it will finish this year at $50, and be $65 at the start of 2018.

You don't think the high inventories will stop that?

It could take up to a year for the draw to bring the numbers down to their normal amount.

Apology for noon question.

But if I'm making a long term investment, wouldn't it wiser to invest in a oil company than index?

Do you know of any particular oil company that you recommend?

Hey /biz/ for about a year now i've been going stupid over making ice cream even going so far as to buy a home model that has its own refrigeration rather than the base that you throw in your freezer, but this is likely dumb but i feel as if i've found what i'm meant to do so I'm wanting to open an ice cream parlor.

I guess the question is, would turning a hobby into a business be a bad idea? I know opinions from people you know personally are typically not that great of a baseline but family, friends, and church goers have had nothing but positive things to say about what i've made so far.

well it seems like at this point no one is going to stop you.. but a few words of warning.

restaurants and food service places can be like hell to make profitable. I'm sure you've seen kitchen nightmares before, just imagine that like 3/4ths of all startup restaurants turn into that and die off.

and turning a hobby into a business? also a horrible idea. think of middle aged women who want to open a cafe, or a little trinket shop? or people who say they've always wanted to own a diner? it never ends well. they always borrow beyond their means and slave away until they manage to sell the place at a loss.

if you feel you have an objective grounding that your icecream is good.. and there aren't many icecream shops around where you plan to setup, or the competition isn't strong.. then you can go ahead and try. market aggressively locally in your community and use facebook to do outreach. use friends/family/church goers as some of your first customers and hopefully your ice cream isn't shit and they recommend you to their friends/family.

good luck, i hope you don't plan on going too far into debt to launch this project of yours. make sure you aren't lazy about advertising because that will fuck you. get a facebook page and a website.

Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

These places fail so often that you may want to just buy someone else's failed business. Don't expect to make any more than minimum wage after all the time you put in.

Brochachos, I've been researching AMD for a few months now, and the recent upwards trend is great news. Also, the volume is increasing as well as the price of the stock - which points to a continued increase in the coming days/weeks. That being said, this would be the first time I consider buying stocks from a company in this particular industry. Help a fellow /biz/nessman out please and tell me if AMD is a good buy on Monday or not? I'm personally leaning towards waiting for a correction drop and then buying in, but the issue is that there do not appear to be any signs of such a drop coming anytime soon. The stock really does seem to be on a sustainable uptrend.

It's cheap as fuck. Even if something goes wrong you'll be alright. Do it.

You should have bought a while ago. That being said I have read predictions for AMD being $7 by the end of the year. It's up to you. what does your gut tell you?

I'm 22 years old and am ready to get married. Will this be a good career move?

Men that are married tend to get promoted more because they are seen as dependent on the company as they have a family. Alot safer to hire a married man with kids than a bachelor that can basically leave with 0 consequences.

Financially it's the opposite. Kids, wife, risk of divorce.

If you get a wife/girlfriend that works full time and pays her rent, food, half of bills etc it will work out financially positive for you as expenses become cheaper.

I'd recommend not to read the intelligent investor unless you dont have anything else to read. Just read a summary of it instead and you'll be on your way.

Investor.
Not sure where that 5% figure comes from, though.
15 million sounds like a high estimate for people with 7 figures invested.
