Have you ever considered writing young adult/teen fiction? I think that shit sells really well.
I'm sure a lot of people have tried without much success.
Anyways I'm pretty sure the genre died with the Hunger Games

>Anyways I'm pretty sure the genre died with the Hunger Games
Why's that?

He means the mainstream marketability. Bookfags and normies tired of two parter movies that are 80% filler.
If 40% of ones net worth is their primary home with no mortgage, should they even invest in REITs?
Me:
40% Primary Home
34% Stock Market ETFs (60% US, 40% Intl)
9% Bond Market ETF
4% Gold ETF
1% Physical Gold/Silver
1% Bitcoins
1% Magic the Gathering cards
10% Cash Equivalent

Your home doesn't give you the same exposure to real estate markets like a REIT does. Since REIT's are usually huge you can have access to markets from California to Maryland. With just your home you only have exposure to your local real estate market.
If things are booming in Kentucky and your home state housing prices are slipping due to low demand your stuck since you limited your exposure.

Depends on your risk profile
Besides 401k, I keep 90% stocks 10% cash but I also rent. Dat liquidity doe
Student loans.
Option A: Nuke them ASAP? You have debt on your head with interest. The logic is simple.
Option B: Accept them as part of your life and just make normal payments to your loan servicer? Most repayment plans are over ten years. Is it worth burdening yourself with a young adult's budget when you could pay $200 and save / invest the rest? It also doesn't hurt your credit. Some might argue it helps! You have an installment loan that you pay on time and student loans are "good debt".
It depends all on the interest rate of the loan vs the expected returns of your investment after taxes.
Don't guess.
Assuming humanity moves closer and closer to a post scarcity economy, what will the role of virtual items become?
I believe that at some point, a large portion of economic activity will involve digital goods, as real goods are manufactured by machines.
Assuming that this is path we go down, how can we profit from this?
Should we start online games with inner economies, and tax the shit out of them?
Pic unrelated.
I should probably mention that this is pretty much how valve makes all of their money at this point.
There isn't a cost associated with it at all, valve just sits back and rakes in a cut of other people's economic output.

the answer is Augmented reality
>>1402462
we've already gone down this path a great while ago, and as you mentioned the way to monetize on it is to be the distributor.
Hey biz,
I'm broke, living with my parents and looking for a job ( no success on that ). I'm 22 and lived in several places alone and have plenty experience.
I need to find a way to gain some money, like, good money. What would you guys suggest I start doing? ( besides getting a job )

What is the plan for making money from gun scares?
>stockpile ammunition
>sell for profit when banned
Get an FFL and middle man between small brick and mortars and wholesalers. A lot of small shops are too small for wholesalers to care about, and they tend to do flat mark-ups (10% over cost) so actual price doesnt matter much to them
Ammo is a huge money maker if you have the capital to get into it. For example you would be making around 9 cents a round for 9mm right now if you had put in a blanket order Jan of 15
Stay far away from surplus crap. It has extreme margins yes, but when your 8 conex boxes from Bulgaria arrive 40-60% of the product is unsellable and goes in the dumpster. It ends up being massive amounts of work for barely above wholesale/dealer margin

How many :D?
Hey /biz/, I was wondering if anyone had opinions on this resume. I'm 25 soon to be 26, and coming out of a 3 month long break after nearly 3 years at my previous job. I hated it the entire time and only did it for the money, so I put in my two-weeks notice, quit respectfully and with a ton of good references that mentioned they'd be glad to help me out.
I did service engineering and software support in my previous role, but fucking hate talking to customers (like most people). I was apparently really good at it however as I moved up a lot in 2 and a half years.
I think I finally found out the type of role that would fit me however, and it's that of a Technical Writer. Someone that writes up the user guides, creates good documentation, training slides, etc all of that good stuff.
In the meantime, I've also applied to some random stuff that I thought might be fun, because I feel like life is an adventure, and I also feel like I choose the wrong degree in college. I feel like I should have chosen a science like Geology, or Biology to get a career doing research and working in nature. Interesting stuff that isn't just about selling software to companies that I couldn't give two shits about.
1.) How does this resume look in your opinion, and is there anything I should change?
2.) Does anyone here have experience with jobs in the sciences like geology and such, and if a degree is absolutely required to get your foot in the door?
Thanks.
