Hi /biz/, broke my lurking to ask the following:

Do these social media (mainly fb) pages which just post "stuff you gotta have" and other bullshit with Amazon affiliate links actually make some money?

I'm aware that you won't become rich this way, but if it works, I suppose it's quite the easy cash - gaining a followership on fb is not that hard, especially if you push it, and you can theoratically make cash from day one on.

Especially interested in people who have actual experience with that.
>>
If it didn't work then why the fuck would they all be doing it? Your real question is how well it works, but the question you need to answer is how well it needs to work for you to consider this.

Is a hundred bucks a month worth it? How about 500? A few grand? What are you looking to get out of it exactly?
>>
I built a few accounts (mostly twitter) to 50k plus followers. On average would take 6-8 months to build up, being super consistent with posts, actually respond to other posters so they don't all flag you as a spam bot and get that account shut down.

By the end of it I had about 8 accounts (3 of which got shut down) that were all 50k+. I worked several hours in order to earn pennies. Unless you have a program to automate hundreds (more like thousands) of accounts then its not worth it imo.

I regret all that wasted work.

Assuming they're both in the same economic position, who has more of an advantage in life?
The 11/10 dime piece broad with average intelligence OR

Difficult to answer, the girl may never know rejection until she's well into her 20's by which point she lacks the discipline or the drive to actually accomplish anything.

She settles down with a guy who earns okay money, drives a low-level-luxury car and after the second child start regretting every decision she's ever made in her life because she took the easy route.

The 'manlet' (how manlet are we talking? Like Prince?) may not be taken seriously, and may never develop the confidence to believe in his own genius... but if he does then the sky is the limit.
>>

I don't get why you guys put so much value in to height. All asians are manlets and they dominate STEM as well as finance now. I get what >>1429537 means with the confidence thing though.

>>1429533
I reckon ugly manlet has a better chance. Reason being, hot women burn out quite fast. I know 9/10 girls that looked like shit by the time they were 19 because they took to many drugs and it ruined their body and face. So now they are a 5/10 used up whore with no skills and wonders why no boys want her anymore.

tldr; alot of hot women end up without skills so ugly manlet has better odds

How's the self-publish book game?

Say I write a decent young-adult novel every few months, can I make a decent living off this with self-publish options online?

Try /lit/ as I'm sure someone there has an idea of how that marketplace is doing.
>>
>>1429210
You're going to be barely scraping by unless you make something popular enough to be made into a movie. Books are so cheap now and the joke that people don't read books anymore is true enough that it will kill any hope of making more than the equivalent of minimum wage. Back in the 50s it wasn't a viable career choice and that's even more true today.

>>1429609
He wasn't asking a question about writing, he was asking about monetizing authorship. This is more of a /biz/ question than a /lit/ question.

Weekly reminder that over half of this board is UNEMPLOYED and thus has no authority of giving any sort of advice or criticism.

Take that into account the next time someone tells you about "making bank" off daytrading or buying whatever shitty P&D coin is popular now (we've had our fair share, PND, drk, doge, pepecoin, /biz/coin and more)

Ok question for you /biz/

say I wanted to buy a car.

The car is worth 30,000$

or approximately 21 oz of gold

Can I pay the merchant 21 1oz Golden maple leafs which have a legal tender value of 50$ Canadian each or 1050$ altogether.

That way the merchant only has to pay income tax on 1050$ and I only have to pay sales tax on 1050$.

I could use this scheme to haggle down the price of the car since the merchant is saving immensely in income tax?

Is there a law stopping me from doing this?

so you want to buy a 30000$ car with 1050$ worth of gold? why on earth would any car dealer do that?

No.

It's 30,000$ worth of gold

but it's 1050$ of legal tender.

The gold mapleleaf has a legal tender value of 50$ for some retarded reason, I want to exploit this.

When am I going to be able to buy a car straight from the factory? Why is it still legal for car dealers to rip off consumers? Tesla cant make money but at least they removed a layer of bs so I give then credit for that.

Why don't Car manufacturers just sell their cars lower rate than what dealers do.

Can't these Car Manufacturing companies just sell to the public slightly or medium amount above what they are currently selling them to dealers for?

What even are the downsides here?
>>
>>1429018
why can't Rachel there just blow me.

Because the OEMs would rather the dealer network handle parts of the value chain such as aftermarket support, etc.

I have never invested in stocks before, but here is what I would do to analyze a stock I think would be a good long term investment.

Fundamental analysis: Run the stock through the Nasdaq dozen, hoping for something like a 10/12 pass rate.

Technical analysis: Look for stocks that are nearing 52 week lows (Or sudden dramatic losses) while hopefully maintaining good fundamentals. (May be hard to find)

News; read recent business news articles involving the company and look for any signs of implosion, major problems, or good news. If there is news that is still scaring away investors, look for different stocks.

So, /biz/ what do you think? What else should I be looking for when deciding on a stock to invest in? Please no crypto/meme shills. Thanks.

>>1428870

The thing about 52 week high and lows, is that it doesn't mean it will not go any lower and higher. You could still lose a lot of money buying at a 52 week low if the company gets worse.
>>
>>1428892
Okay, true. But on the flip side, doesnt it lower the risk if the fundamentals and news forecasts are okay?

What if im looking at a company that just keeps going down because nobodys thinking about it, but it is still making good money as a business and has no long term flaws in its marketing plan?

I pay $20 for a company that used to be worth $65. It could go back up, or it could crash to 0, for some magical reason. I could stand to lose $20 a share, but if people start liking its value per share, because of the lowered price, it could go back up with less risk on my end. I could stand to lose 20 a share, but that is the MAX I would lose.
>>
>>1428870
Also, realize that some company's stock are traded emotionally and there really isn't a pattern to it. Consider MGT for example.
