So, I started a window cleaning service this summer. I'm very good at it, I have good equipment, etc. But, my advertising budget is exactly $0, and things like facebook, craigslist, etc., haven't exactly been a goldmine for customers.

I know that I'm going to have to go around to businesses in person and give them a sales pitch. Problem, I always puss out and I haven't been able to do it. Fear of rejection I guess. Is there any way to get over that fear?

Are we headed towards economic ruin? With automation and shipping jobs overseas, the capitalist machine becomes more efficient. That means money flowing upwards to the top, and very little of it flowing back lower. Poor people spend almost all their money, while rich people only spend a fraction of it.

No one has any solution to this. Higher taxes on the rich, and redistributing it back to the rest is one idea. In a perfect society this would work. But the rich are really good at both hiding their money and controlling the political system. Which means it may not work.

So we'd be right back at square 1: the circular flow of money broken and a good chunk of society unable to get jobs.

yes there is a solution.

stop spending your money.

hoard it like the rich do. soon they will wonder where all the money has gone, and ease up interest rates.
>>
>>1431609

Spending is good, saving is bad. That also stops the circular flow of money.

Circular Flow is life.
Circular Flow is love.

Does Crime ever pay?

Is it /biz/ approved or are all forms of crimes strictly for short-term thinking niggers?

Only white-collar crime
>>
If you're not active in a mafia-like organisation then only fraud is viable. If everything is vague then the police doesnt feel like putting in effort.

But 99% of the crime doesnt pay and is just short term thinking.
>>
>>1431580
But is it worthwhile in most cases?

What do you consider under "white-collar"? Isn't it a bad idea because then it destroys your chances to work in that field for life?

OK guys I'm a financial pleb

I currently have 1 day a week under the table that brings in $90
I have a dish washing job 2 days a week that pays $9/hr - about 18 hours a week - Roughly $140 after taxes
My rent is $550 month
I have under $20k in school debts I have defaulted on and never pay. They do keep my tax returns however.
I dont have a car.
My electrical and gas bill is <$100 any given month
Food is whatever I can afford generally

So what can I do to better make my money work for me? I don't seem to have a lot to invest but maybe I can be saving somewhere? Are there any obvious tax right offs Im not taking advantage of or ways to save what Im making.

Im living by the skin of my teeth and work is hard to find, this dishwashing job took 4 months to get and its only 2 days.

$985 a month.
-$550 rent
-$100 bills
-$200 groceries
= $185

Save it and continue to look for better work.

How can I make such a small amount grow?

I always hear "Oh well if you had a million bucks you can just put it in a high yield bond and live off the interest." Anytime I look at numbers it seems like it be better to spend the million in investments that may or may not come to fruition then waste the opportunity and the time letting it sit for 2%. Is there no way to start snowballing a $185 month investment.

Of course Im chomping at the bit for better work every day but until that day comes I'd like to do what I can on the side to increase my standard of living.

Holy fuck your English.

Wow. The average salary in your country is only like 1400 in CAD. You can't survive worth shit on your own for 1400 a month in Canadaland. The average rent for Canadians on the West coast is like 1200+ a month. You guys must have cheap as fuck housing to be able to spend the rest on car payments.

Anyways. I work in the auto industry.

Leasing essentially allows you to have more car with less risk for less money per month than owning/financing.

You take less risk in several ways.

For example. You and I both get the same Mercedes. You lease it and 5 years and I finance it for 5 years. In 5 years we both put on 100,000 KM. In 5 years my car with 100K KM is at the whim of the market for its value. Your leased vehicle has a fixed future value set through the residual. So you cant get hurt.

With financing I own the vehicle and make payments until the end of the term. After which I get a clean and clear title back in the mail.

With leasing you essentially own several options which you can decide on at the end of the lease term.

Usually, at the end the lease term. You can turn the vehicle in and walk away. You can trade the vehicle against a new one. So basically upgrade. Or if you love the car. You can buy it out at whatever the set value is. Now at the end of the lease term. If the car is worth more than the set future value. You usually pocket the difference. But that is up to the individual lease conditions.

Now the other way you take less risk on a lease is that depending on the car manufacturer. Accidents and things like that may be absorbed by the car company. Essentially meaning that if I finance the same car. Crash it and have it repaired. My value on that car decreases due to the accident. Where as on the lease. The car company may absorb the depreciation. So even if you have an accident. Your future value may not be effected.

Finally, in most general terms. Leasing for shorter terms means less monthly payments then financing.

so can i lease a lambo for 5k every month for 1 year and then just give it back afterwards?
>>
>>1431574
There's also down payment, maintenance (sometimes it's free), gas prices, etc.

Leases are usually 3 years in the US, but I don't know about Poland.

How do I find a good Criminal Defense Lawyer?

I've been researching some online but they all claim to be the best with over 20 years experience, etc. How do I find the right one? Reviews seem left and right here, some say "best lawyer 10/10" some say terrible lawyer...

Any ideas? Is it just a crapshoot and they're probably fine if they have over 20 yrs experience with exp in your charges? Do they need extensive experience in it?

pls help

What were you busted for?

I was involved in some libertarian issues, selling stuff that is a part of that. If you talk to others in "the movement", they all have connects to lawyers that have the same opinions.

In my case I was locked up on restrictions. This means that my lawyer was not allowed to share certain info with me (EU country). Despite that, my lawyer, being libertarian herself, hinted that one of my pals that used to be locked up, had been released. This helped me to plan my own defense (keeping schtumm) and 2 days later I was released as well.

Brilliant lawyer!

I don't really have anyone to get a recommendation for my charges.

Ive been looking at a few online but I dunno, it just feels a bit off how they all seem to claim "decades of experience" and experience in various areas but it just seems like marketing shit.

Are female lawyers to be trusted? If it's multiple charges to do with computers would an older, female lawyer even know how to defend that?

Gonna try to keep this vague:

I have been professionally writing for a few years now and have recently managed to get a moderately successful novel published. It was met with relative positive reviews from critics and fans. My publisher has high hopes for me and expects much higher sales from my second novel. (The novel can't be a sequel)

Now my plan is to completely sell-out with this next book. I don't wish to become the next George RR Martin, but i live a modest NEET life. A million dollars would hold me over forever, and allow me to have to not worry about any of my future books selling or any financial troubles for my children.

Although i (hopefully) have the skills, publisher, fans, and name recognition to have my next book be another moderate success. I need my book to become a large success. I usually write Literary fiction (fiction full of themes and allegories and artsy shit, example: The Great Gatsby) im willing to put all that aside for this one book and just write a genre fiction novel (just characters and plot, example: romance novels, crime novels, etc.) which usually sell better.

From a buisness perspective, how should i go about this to make the most money? How does a person sell out?

>I usually write Literary fiction (fiction full of themes and allegories and artsy shit
Yeah, I doubt it.

For a start, if you did write "artsy shit," you'd realise that schoolteachers invent most themes so that they have something to spoonfeed to children.

An idea sometimes runs through a work, but it's not the "moral of the story" that a utilitarian education system requires it to be. Square peg, round hole.

You, on the other hand, seem to think that writing Aesop's fables counts as literature. That's thinking like a student or thinking like a schoolteacher, miles away from an artistic mentality.

In short, you are graduating from middlebrow moral fables for others to middlebrow entertainment for others.

Now, if you found a way to entertain yourself, you'd begin, for the very first time, not to be a sellout.

I have a nose for this kind of thing.
>>
Lets see...

Just write, you can't expect us to spoonfeed you the interesting material.

Promote your book in various places, if you're lucky a bigshot might catch wind of your book.

I literally wrote a book, got it published and made money off of it, ontop of working a full-time job. So im probably ahead of you on both the /biz/ and /lit/ side of things. And yes i used the word "artsy" to define literary fiction, because i know none of you Suit types would want to read through the definition of Literary Fiction.

I came here for advice on buisness shit, so shut the fuck up, put your phone down and politely shove it up your own ass.

I just turned 19 and I would like to have a little study break. My parents pushed me to have crazy grades and I urgently need a break from books before going to University.

That said, I am searching for relatively high-paying jobs anyone can get. A friend suggested planting trees in Canada (where I live) and after looking it up, it seems really great. Only issue s that it lasts only 3-4 months per year and it just finished.

Do you know other jobs I could look for ? A fishing boat ? Mines ?

Also, if you have personal stories to share, I would be happy to read them.

Thanks /biz/
