I've had to file my 2nd 1040X amendment because I made an error on my initial submission, an accountant I hired re-did it and filed a 1040X, then we found errors with THAT amendment and so I mailed another one today

Do you:
A: Just want to get rich, off anything
B: Want to get rich, but off something that you will be remembered and praised for?
I'd choose A, and they attempt to do B.
>>1466833
C. I want to do something, get praised for it, and make enough money doing it that I can just keep doing that at the highest level until I die.
>>1466833
Same OP.
I'm at 330K net worth and 25 right now. My goal is to put my company in a position to sell for a decent amount and then become a NEET for a few years while I figure out what I want to do.

Can someone give me alittle info about bitcoin? Is it worth buying some? I know almost nothing about it, but it seems like the only crypto currency worth looking into.
Thanks in advance /biz/
Like fiat, Bitcoin has no real value.
Unlike fiat, Bitcoin is not backed or guaranteed in any way by any authority, so the market consists almost entirely of speculators hoping to get rich and criminals trying to buy drugs or launder money.
However, also unlike fiat, counterfeiting is impossible and the amount of coins added to the economy over time is fixed and finite. Additionally, it is as secure as hard cash and nearly as anonymous, but allows quick payments around the world.
So the question is really just, do you think Bitcoin will be more widely adopted? If so, buy it.
>>1466630
Hmm, that's some solid info, thanks. I'll do alittle research on my own to see if I think it will become more widely adopted. My thought was, bitcoin being essentially a criminal currency, it wouldn't go anywhere. But weirder things have happened, and it certainly has potential. If it were ever to become a mainstream form of payment, buying now would definitely leave me well off. I'm just trying to learn more about it before I sink six hundred for one imaginary coin.

/biz/ I hope you can help me (actual questions are at the end of the post).
I am looking to buy a house in about 12 to 18 months time. As I will be relocating to a new city to start my career (I am currently renting).
I am receiving a signing bonus that will paid to me partially sometime next month, and the rest of it is 18 months when I start working.
Current liquid assest
>Savings = $50,000
>Brokerage = $53,000
>Initial bonus = $17,000 (after taxes)
>remaining bonus = $45,000 (after taxes with higher tax rate considered; not a current asset)
Total cash available
>$148,000
I am expecting the bank to approve me for $650k to $825k. I am not planning on buying this expensive of a house. I am hoping to spend less than $500k (low cost of living area).
$500,000 means a 20% down payment of $100,000, or if I decide to spend a lot, 20% of $825,000 is $165,000.
This seems very doable for me, but I am scared to drain my savings and brokerage accounts. I have ways to save some more money in the next year.
>How much should I try to keep in savings?
>Should I sell my stocks now/soon, or wait until I need the money?
>Should I consider slowing my payment of student loans (they are in deferment) and save the money for additional cash?
>Are there any first time home buyer programs that will help me?

I am not going to waste 5 to 10 more years of my life waiting for the housing market to maybe crash again.

which country are you in? This is critical. If it's the USA, you're totally good and my advice applies. If not, ignore everything I have to say.
But here's the advice I'll give. Do not pay more than the minimum on your mortgage. Instead invest the difference. It will be incredibly tempting to just pay it off, but that's a bad move long term.
I could have paid my home off several times but I stuck the course and am seeing the positive effects of it now.

should I invest in URRE? do you even know how the Market works?
A recruitment site just posted a job I want. The ad will expire in 20 days.
When do I send my CV? Is today to soon? Is during the end too late? google says after 9pm on a tuesday but don't know which interval
>>1466579
Send it in now. They will likely start interviewing before the ad expires and if they find the right person, they'll hire them and take the ad down. Unless it is a government job or something. In that case, they might be required to accept resumes/applications for a specified period of time.
>>1466579
ASAP
>>1466579
Immediately. There are times when they'll just stop looking through all of the applications and pick someone that fits good from the first group of resumes.
A question to those knowledgeable about finance:
When I place an order with a stockbroker like robinhood, how does the order get executed? What does robinhood do with my order, or who do they relay the order to?
They relay the order to whatever you chose while doing the trade. My broker gives me the possibility to trade about 35 stock exchanges worldwide, but I can also make direct deals with banks or pther small investors.
>>1466574
So they relay it to the exchanges themselves? Is the order then picked up by a human and run across the floor with a little paper ticket? Or is it all computerized now?
>>1466574
Jesus, how can one person be so woefully misinformed? RH does not relay order to exchanges. They sell the order to a HFT. It's called paid order flow, and it's how RH stays afloat despite not charging commissions.
As to your claim, I find it highly unlikely that your broker allows you to choose the clearinghouse for your trade execution. There are some premium brokerages that offer this service, but at a cost. You don't really seem smart enough to understand the difference, so I'm going to assume that you're full of shit and just wrong.
