Should I major in finance or accounting?
I've been told that accounting is better if you're not a dumbass and can pass the CPA test, is this true?
>>1467170
Accounting is safer. Better choice if you're in an average or < school. Finance can be good. Do which you prefer. Get a perfect GPA and get good internships. You'll be fine either way.
>>1467177
Well my college is pretty shitty and im only going there because its cheap so accounting it is
>>1467179
Can't go wrong. A lot of interviewers will actually understand when you explain to them "It made the most fiscal sense for me to go to a cheaper university, rather than mire myself in debt."
Don't believe the shit about needing a top tier school to get high paying jobs.
If only someone was on here telling you to buy NXT at 3800 yesterday.
Oh wait, I was.
4200 now and we're just getting started. Tried to make you rich /biz/. Hopefully some of you listened.
>>1467147
If you make good calls, then just fucking trip. People will start listening.

REU HUE HUE HUE
is legal/feasible to have in your Will the distribution of your estate to the person who killed you? whoever it is, unnamed.
>>1467042
I'm not aware of any reason why you couldn't. It'd be an interesting catch-22, as accepting the money could be construed as an admission of guilt.
That said, you'd want a much more robust will. In the (significantly more likely) event that you die of other causes, you'd want to specify who gets your estate so that it doesn't end up in probate.
>>1467042
In some places it is illegal to profit from your crime and since a will is basically a contract it cannot be honored since no contract for illegal stuff can be honored. I am unsure if that is a federal law or not.
>>1467057
I should know what probate is because I'm a real estate investor but I don't. What is it?
can I get a 6% montly return if I start taking my savings into gold and silver?
>>1467040
what's a realistic return for gold and silver?
>>1467038
is that a reasonable rate of return on your money , in your opinion?
you get more than that at a job site.

I just graduated from college and I have $20,000 sitting in a checking account with no interest. What's the best thing to do with it that requires no management?
>>1466973
Vanguard index funds.
>>1466973
Pay off any high interest debt off first. Set aside an emergency fund of 3-6 months salary. Then yea low fee index funds with Vamguard for the rest as suggested.
>>1467095
dave ramsey please go.
OP, you should invest in overseas buisness. Your 20k is worth 200k in certain currencies. Pay people to do things you dont want to do and then send their effors back to the states.
Why am I seeing URRE all over /biz/
Because you keep posting shill threads about it.

Can someone explain this bitcoin getting to over 1 million a coin meme? Why would it shoot up that high? And what would you even do with a single bitcoin? You wouldn't be able to spend it on anything really.
If this sounds retarded, it's because I'm completely bitcoin illiterate.
>>1466922
>Why would it shoot up that high?
It wouldn't, unless rich people and hedge funds started buying it.
>And what would you even do with a single bitcoin? You wouldn't be able to spend it on anything really.
Bitcoin is divisible to 8 decimal places. 1/100,000,000 of a bitcoin is called a satoshi.
If 1 BTC = $1,000,000, then 1 satoshi = 1 penny.
>>1466928
Oh, so a coin is dividable. Good to know.
Still, I hear everyone on this board shilling about how one coin will be worth thousands if not hundreds of thousands, and some even say millions. I just have a hard time seeing that happening.
>>1466935
Imagine a roulette wheel of all possible future bitcoin prices. If you think there is even a 1/100 chance that a bitcoin would ever be worth 1mil then it makes sense to buy some. Its also a nice hedge against the banking industry collapsing under its own bullshit.

Why do governments still suck Keynes' cock when Hayek was right all along?
>>1466903
Let me guess... you're a collegefag who just started his economics course for this fall!
yay! good job anon! yay for anon!
>>1466903
>thinking any of these guys actually understands the economy
>>1466903
>Hayek was right all along
"There is no reason why, in a society which has reached the general level of wealth ours has, the first kind of security should not be guaranteed to all without endangering general freedom; that is: some minimum of food, shelter and clothing, sufficient to preserve health. Nor is there any reason why the state should not help to organize a comprehensive system of social insurance in providing for those common hazards of life against which few can make adequate provision.[33][34]" (source: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Road_to_Serfdom)
A longer section is here (http://www.slate.com/blogs/moneybox/2012/05/14/friedrich_hayek_on_the_welfare_state.html), but it's the same general idea, plus Slate is a biased anti-right wing/anti-libertarian/anti-conservative website.
Hayek was more concerned with the rise of central planning, not exactly the welfare state itself.
"inb4 butthurt Keynesian"
I'm not a Keynesian, I'm a monetarist. Milton Friedman is better than both of these economists and much more influential than Hayek.
Why does bitcoin seem difficult to use/learn?
Want to start selling art porn, and want to be anonymous. I've heard bitcoin isn't even necessarily anonymous? And that you need to have bitcoin to even use the program?
Literally only way to be anonymous on BTC is to mine it yourself, that will take for fucking ever.
Best you can do now is buy from local bitcoins using fake identities and structure your trades so you're buying from multiple people and only in small amounts, with all different identities
There is more you have to do, but you get the idea, it's a lot of work, and is it worth it?
