Hi biz, I need some advice.
I'm 21, finishing my degree in international relations/political science next year. I currently lucked out and have come into the possession of $100,000 USD... Now instead of being a big ol' dummy like most of my generation, I'm wanting to invest this money and see it grow over time instead of buying some shit hot car or hookers. What is the best way to see this money grow over, lets say, a 10 year period?
I'm relatively financially independent already, as I work a media intelligence job that nets me around $30,000 AUD on top of uni per year, with the potential to work more hours to get more like $55,000 per annum.

Depends how much risk you can tolerate.
Thrown 10% of it in Canadian Medical Marijuana stocks though, seems like it'll rise.
>>1468380
Not too interested in high risk stocks, since I can't be around to micro-manage and I'm more or less uneducated regarding investment. Figured that perhaps a long term yield in something with slow but steady growth might be the best way to go?
>>1468380
>Thrown 10% of it in Canadian Medical Marijuana stocks though, seems like it'll rise.
You would be betting on the whims of government.
Foolish imo.
I have been fantasising about buying land in my area. I live in CA and most of the land Im interested in are parcels that Ive noticed have selling values that continue to drop.
They continue to drop because of the lack of water for sustaining a farm with livestock or crops.
What about solar? As much as they can be an eye sore could solar panels be a good method to pay off the panels themselves and then paying off the bank loan to out right own the land I put them on?
Anyone have interest or experience in this area that can tell me to shut up and pick a different idea?
More than happy to read some criticism, even if your criticisms are just at me being a faggot or whatever.
I did this a few years back, and still hold parcels in Kern, Santa Babara, Orange and Riverside Counties.
I pay about $50-$150 taxes on each yearly.
Each was purchased for between $1 and $1000 pending on existing unpaid taxes. There was about $40 for county filing fee and i'd estimate about $300 for lawyer fees for deed processing etc.
I see them as a low risk investment, as the cash I put in has slowly increased in value - being Australian I purchased when a USD was worth 70cents.
The county assessor and tax collectors help out alot if you ask. I had the county assessors send me photographs of the parcels before purchase and any information about building, development projects or zoning withing a few miles radius and they were happy to oblige. The tax collector was more than happy to send tax bills earlier so they could be paid on time once they reach AU.
Just give it a try with one parcel, see what you can do with it and then determine if you can flip it, or make the choice to hold it.

Interesting, how did you find them?
>>1468347
This is going to be a hard idea to make money off of but you are welcome to try. You have to recognize why the land is losing its perceived value.
>>1468558
This guy probably did it right. He bought when the market was low and the demand for tax liens or tax defective property was very low. He was able to see through the downturn and succeed. You need to think similarly.
The biggest problem is that because of Agenda 21 driven planning, California's ongoing drought plus the recent requirements for Residential Sprinkler systems, you will be hard pressed to find the most valuable land for development.
Solar Farms are going to be just as, if not more difficult to accomplish. California has very big problems with wildlife protection and a whole bunch of state and federal planning agencies who are going to do their best to stop your solar farm from taking off. Case in point, the Altamont wind farms.
http://www.mercurynews.com/ci_29048835/altamont-pass-controversial-wind-turbine-company-blamed-bird
You will have people up your ass about fried birds from minute one.
Next, California has a more regulated energy market than most.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Solar_power_in_California
Third. Net metering is going to go away very quickly. You are unlikely to be able to sell your excess capacity unless you have a monopoly over a particular area.
http://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2014/05/why-is-texas-terrible-at-producing-solar-power/445221/
The biggest question I have to ask, why are you even trying to spend money in California? There are a thousand other places which are far easier to do business in raw land. You have to comply with an assload of regulation and taxes in California yet, you want to buy land.
Brit-fag currently doing A2s with AAA prediction.
Can go two ways, do Dentistry and get a clinic from retiring parents which would get me around ~150k profit p/a with me working there after 3 years, 80k starting (5 year course + 1 year VTE training)
2. Do a foundational course for Engineering, as I haven't done Physics or Maths @ AS or A2 and then progress into Manchester Uni for Chemical Engineering etc or apply to Cambrige/Oxford/Imperial after Foundation to progress into their Engineering Programs or Quant programs. (1 Year Foundation, 3 Year Bsc, 1 year Msc potentially in financial markets)
Thinking that Engineering could get me into Canary Warf, and could earn more money that way than Dentistry because Dental Clinics are fucking expensive to expand because it's all NHS in the UK and dentists get paid fuck all.
Just done my A2s. Economics at Cambridge, well chuffed. Good luck, lad!
I would recommend Dentistry. Your alternative seems a bit iffy, but no doubt you would earn decent cash if your plan worked. Medical professions, especially your own practice, are fantastic.

Dentistry would get me fuck all imo, around 120k after tax.
And I can't increase it much after that.
What can I do with 8 thousand dollars in cash to make more money?

Do you have any good places where I can learn about bonds?

How do you have a healthy relationship with a girl in your 20's, when you're trying to grow your own success and yet she is upset about the lack of free time spent with her?
>Own a small business
>Dating the love of my life for 2 years
>Hitting a breaking point because she says I'm indifferent about seeing her or not because I'm tired after a week of work and dont feel like going to the bar with her on a Friday night, yet say I want to spend all weekend with her and all weekday nights, just not at a fucking bar and not out at a party.
I dont want to leave her. She's probably gonna leave me if the pattern continues and if so there's nothing I can do. I feel like it's either do a good job at making moneys, or do a good job with the girl i love. I ain't creative enough to come up with a way to do both. Wat do?
>>1468301
Leave her asap, she doesn't want you to succeed because only then will you realize how worthless she is to you.
Remember
>Homies > Money > Hoes
The simple answer is you must choose between either the woman or your business. It sounds as if you're growing apart, nothing lasts forever.
I'd let her go, concentrate on your business and find one more supportive of you.
Plus it sounds like she's only interested in having you take her out and spend money on her. She's probably using you.
Does she live with you?

Hey /biz/ so lately I've been seeing lots of poloniex trading threads or post here so I decided to look into it. Since I know a thing or two about forex trading and have some experience behind my back i thought that crypto day trading can't be much harder. I'm not talking about going long on btc or eth or etc or some other similar shill coin and waiting years just to earn something. I'm more interested in the margin trading section of polo. So if you could help an anon out and give me some tips about starting and maybe share some of your (successful) methods. Literally anything you can think of: starting capital, time spent trading a day, realistic profit goals etc. Also i feel like this board needs a separate poloniex (margin) trading general (PTG?), because CCG is full of shilling cucks and Neets.
all i can say is. crypto has wild volatility.. from 40% - 2000% per day
if youre a forex trader, youre gonna love it <3
>>1468255
>So if you could help an anon out and give me some tips about starting
Leverage kills.
Violent swings happen much more often than in forex world.
No big daddy market makers & central banks looking for the prices to stay in line.
Wild breakouts.
People with $50k belong to the bigger guys in the market, average market participants have a few hundred or thousand bucks while in real forex word it's like x10.000 (if one disregards retail forex and bucket shops)
>some of your (successful) methods.
During the semester I sometimes daytrade and use technical analysis. When I don't do this I just keep a handful of the most promising/interesting/secure coins. e.g. currently BTC, MAID, XMR, FCT. Both approaches have been equally successful atm. Not sure if due to skill or luck.
>>1468255
Starting capital doesn't matter. Just use what you can afford and keep your leverage conservative.
Time spend trading during my active phases is literally all day everyday.

APPROVE MY APP APPLE
Whats the best app store to make money off?
>>1468248
apple because their customers include millions of stupid faggots
>>1468253
tis is true boyo, but there are stupid people on both platforms.
i read online that for apps on the google play store it's better to make money off of ads and on the apple app store it's better to make money off of in app purchases and selling a premium (adfree) version of your app.
ultimately though i think it makes sense to have both ads and purchases on both platforms.
Need some help /biz/. I want to make some extra money on the side by selling my sweaty, unwashed underwear to strangers. A few questions:
- How profitable is this business? How much are people generally willing to pay per pair?
- What's the best way to sell? I was thinking Etsy, since I do the work by hand, but maybe Craigslist would be better?
- Since I am male, I was thinking of using men's briefs, but I have a sneaking suspicion that there's a larger market for women's panties. I'm OK with wearing panties around, but would there be any way for buyers to tell that the pair was worn by a dude?
- Are there any risks to doing this? Is it legal? I don't have any diseases that I know of that could make someone seriously ill, and I'd wash my asscrack out first to prevent fecal matter from contaminating it.
Thanks in advance.
>>1468239
Just start wearing girl's underwear and find some fake pictures to pretend you're a girl.
Then sell panties and make hella money on Ebay. Good luck.
>>1468239
Instead of actually wearing them, just stretch them out a little, manually, and then squirt a mixture of a very light amount of salt, clam, and shrimp juice. Obviously just in the crotch, not too much, and let it dry before shipping.
>>1468239
why would anyone buy your dirty underwear for more than the cost of a new pair of underwear?
What is the best option for me at this point right the hell now
>single, no kids
>first year uni, majoring in English
>Yale
>realizing majoring in English may kill me
Well.. What do I do? I cannot waste my life doing some kind of engineering, that would be the worst possible job option for me.
>>1468214
Stupid question. Delete this and stop shitting the board up.

Who here is low income and what do you do to save money? So far I do these things to save money
>steal condiments from fast food restaurants
>steal toilet paper and napkins from restaurants and stores
>only eat eggs and rice and potatoes with a multivitamin and sometimes eat packets of condiments
>buy clothes and shoes from second hand stores
>only use minimal amounts of soap and toothpaste
>never go out to do anything "fun"
>ride my bicycle or walk instead of driving
>use coupons and only shop when there is deals
anything else I can do to save money?
>>1468157
Kill yourself.
Then you wouldn't need to spend any money at all.

Wtf, how can minors work?
Just landed a new job, and HR is trying to get to know me better (possibly sending this stuff to my future colleagues):
>what are you passionate about?
>what are your favorite leisure activities?
>what she would know about you?
>a perfect day for you starts with...
Why do HR do this gay shit? I don't want to out myself as a retard who shitposts on 4chan during all his free time
What are some good diversion tactics for this kind of stuff?
>>1468155
Sounds like a horrible company. Why would you want to work there?
>>1468155
What the fuck kind of company are you working for?
What is the best commodity to trade and why is it silver?
Gold is superior to everything
>>1468256
I prefer gold as well but why do you think it's better than everything else?
I like it because it makes the best jewelry. No one wears silver wedding rings. Bitches love gold rings and they love my gold chains and shit too.
>>1468273
The price fluctuates nicely making it ideal for day trades. Also because the price is relatively low per ounce, the chance of its value doubling in the future is more likely than gold.
Hey /biz/, with all the memecoin threads and generally curious amount of people on this board I thought I'd make a general thread where we discuss our current methods of self employment/business/trading and how it's going.
Mine: I rented office space a few weeks back with my dad and we've been working on a web design service to try and make money to fund our other projects.
It's definitely hard finding leads as a new company with no prior referrals though - next Monday I'm just going to do some hardcore cold calling all week to try and get a sale or two.
What about you /SEG/? Any businesses you're starting? New stocks or cryptos you're looking into? Even small side projects are welcome.
I am currently studying software development and have a little app aimed at teens going up at the moment, It took one hour to be approved on Android, its been waiting on iOS approval for like 4 fucking days.
>>1468131
I day trade penny stocks
Tile guy, I post here pretty often.
I'd try some flyers, maybe a Google ad. Also, actually stopping by a business and saying hello is 100x better than cold calling. Just stop in, meet for a sec, tell them what you do and drop off a flyer. They may offer their info to you as well. Do like 50 of those a week, and you could prob pick up a customer.
Social media is good too. A company facebook, and also just posting on your personal page about what you do.
good luck.
I will answer any general questions about the Canadian side of marijuana regulations with simple answers. I have keeping up to date on company news and regulations for months. Other people are obviously encouraged to share their perspective to posted questions.
who has the biggest distribution network already set up?
which stocks should be looked out for?
what will store front look like for this product? shoppers drug mart? lcbo?
how will the legislation look? will it implement a government cartel for this product? or will it be free rain for any jo blow.
>Where should I invest; how are the companies different?
In my opinion there are two main tiers of company, ones that are sanctioned by Health Canada and ones that are waiting for their permit.
While investing in companies that have no licence may attract people (these are very cheap to hoard shares in) there is no guarantee that they will pass.
I focus on the companies that are producing marijuana and selling it to medicinal patients. These have a somewhat proven track record, and they are all generating cash.
>>1468134
which ones?
