What does /biz/ think of this? It seems to me like a huge coping mechanism and a way to never get anywhere.
There are some good points in there. Mike's a bit of a contrarian with his comments but it's welcomed in a culture that seems to swing too far the other way.
Frankly I think your family support structure/social capital and geographic distance to your university are the most significant. Don't try to aim for the stars if you're fighting way over your weight class

Doctors tend to burn out due to high stress plus high workload and long hours
Studying takes ten years as you just showed, that is a long fucking time for most who are schooltired already during highschool.
Other than that, you are perfectly right

Also liberal fucks have been giving doctors a lot of wage cuts lately.

That way the stock markets will never crash too much because the Fed will never sell their holdings and speculators make a quick buck or two during the little crash.

The Fed doesn't care about stock market levels, at least not directly, because the stock market doesn't factor into GDP, jobs or inflation. The stock market is a symptom of a healthy/unhealthy economy, not a cause. Instead, the Fed manipulates things like the prime interest rate and the money supply, to encourage lending, investment, and growth.
Some of these policies do have the side effect of supporting the price of stocks, but its not what the Fed is actually seeking to achieve. It's simply the result of the policies working.
Miraculously, I'm new to trading stock and I've made 2700$ in the span of 3 months just buying and selling penny stocks. I'm still a n00b.
I was wondering if it was unusual for people to drop 10-20K into a penny stock and just sell when it goes up 2 cents?
And also, is there anyway to bypass the t+3 rule every time you sell?
>>1494384
I'm sure everyone here will agree about penny stocks.
>>1494384
Yes, it's unusual. Stop what you're doing, it's not normal. What's normal here is you buy an index fund and wait 20 years. n00b, it's only a matter of time when you'll lose your $2700 in one day. Ever heard of good money management, risk management, and position sizing?
>>1494384
You can't bypass t+3.

Dude reached out to me via LinkedIn. He likes my skills.
I'm looking at an offering the $130k range, base. Probably $150-180k. Plus relocation and $20k signing bonus and average $15-40k annual bonus plus stocks.
I'd have to move my wife and kids away from my in laws. I'd have to move away from my oldest son. We were estranged for a few years and only recently re-established our relationship.
The company has a huge reputation for huge expectations. It's cut-throat as fuck.
Lots and lots of room for advancement. Very safe industry, very safe career niche.
Or. I stay put in my $95k job.
***
What does /biz/ think?
>>1494364
Leave and your older kid will probably hate you and I mean HATE you. Well depends how old he is I guess. That and the emotional support of the in-laws. What's that worth to your wife? Worth 35k and more work stress? Idk. Most people here won't understand. They don't have families to consider.
>>1494364
go to current job.
leverage offer to get more money while staying put.
profit.
>>1494368
This is precisely my biggest concern.
I've completely flipped the script on his mom. My relationship with my oldest is fantastic now. He hates his mom and accuses her of "just wanting money"
I spoke with him tonight. He sounded a bit choked up.
I'd only be 3 hours away. But the notion of picking him up, barbecuing him a steak and driving him back to his mom's would no longer be realistic.
On the other hand, I remarried, and had more sons. They're 5, and 1. My oldest loves his baby brothers. My oldest was definitely mentioning this notion that they'd go to good schools, and wouldn't struggle like he did.
Fuck man. It's a lot to think about.

Good luck ever getting a loan or anything else. Many employers and landlords check your credit these days B T W.
Also your credit is most likely low anyways, you'll at most get like $10k from your "scheme". If that's worth 7 years of tendies to you, good luck I guess

Common sense steps to financial freedom
1. Get a emergency fun that can cover 6 months of expenses
2. Start with your highest interest debt, pay it off and move to the next and the next etc until you are debt free
3. Put the money you were paying on debt into a s and p 500 type index fund, look for the lowest expense ratio you can find
Sit back and laugh as your networth grows like a weed and nu males in thier mid to late 20s are still browsing shit threads about crypto
