You should go on tinder and pose as a female. Ive noticed that there are ALOT of young males looking for a female geologist to examine large bones they presumably found during excavation.
So I just got permanently disabled and made unable to work do to an eye injury. I'll never work in my trade (contractor) again.
I have 1,000,000. What are some turn-key businesses I could buy and manage right from the go, with minimal start-up expenses.
I need to do something with my life before the depression consumes me.
1 million? Invest 200k in dividend paying stocks, google best ones, make living on collecting from them. The end.
Need to do something with my life.

My household's power bill has been around $30 to $50. Sometime in June, maybe, I got a letter from my power company asking if I would be interested in wind energy as an alternative, and listed the price chances between the two. I wish I still had that paper. I remember that the rates were higher, but mistakenly so, it seems.
Today I get my power bill for last month, from when my power changed to wind source.
1, the kwh has quadroupled and I've no new appliances or changes in power consumption habits. No new ACs, no more or less cooking than normal.
2, the power bill is $265
Advice? Did I just take one for clean energy?

It's not always greener in the other side
>>1496545
If you thought it was wrong why didn't you call them and check? You got cucked into paying more bills for no reason. That's money you could be saving or investing. Don't fall for the green meme
Honestly wind power is a huge meme
Nuclear is currently the best choice, but the idiot public always gets spooked over accidents
Hey /biz/ Ive got a question for some of the investors here. How would watching live news a lot, and seeing some breaking news such as perhaps a plane going down and immediately going and short selling that stock work? Would it be very profitable? Or am I retarded?
>>1496516
BUY ON ARTICLE 50
in theory it would work, but only because of the greater fool theory. Sure the plane crash is going to have a material effect on the company's profits, so a small fall in the price is justified.
The thing is, most people dont trade stocks with valuation models, most people see "pokemon go is a hit?!" BUY NINTENDO.
So by shorting on the news of a plane crash, you're hoping that you're the fastest moron to the draw, which, with algorithmic traders nowadays, you never are the fastest.
Instead you're the bagholder. Enjoy.
>>1496529
How the fuck is a algorithm supposto know to trade on a immediate event like a plane crash
Hello /biz/,
I need a little help because I may have to do a few interviews in the near future.
What I'm curious about is if I should say how much i'm paid right now or if I should first get them to make me an offer.
I know that, when buying things that don't have a price set in stone (like cars or houses), it's better to get the seller to make you an offer rather than exposing yourself immediately by saying what your budget is, and I'm wondering if this situation applies with job interviews as well, with me being the seller of a service in this case.
So, what should I do if/when asked how much I paid or how much I want?
A few info that may or may not be useful: I work as a freelance, I already have a job, the job I'll be making interviews for is the same as the one I'm doing, but with the potential of getting a substantially higher pay right from the start.
>>1496508
Same deal with me.
I had a recruiter call me for an opportunity for an payment transaction company. I gave them my expectations of 75-80k and they had the gall to ask what I'm currently making now.
Seriously, does that even matter? You already know what I want.
>>1496534
I'm not in that situation yet, but I want to be prepared for when the question drops.
Both answers seem to have their pros and cons, but I just can't decide which is best for me as a way to get the best pay
Anyone?
will uber collapse soon?
nah. They're cheaper than public transportation in my part of the country. Not that that is a high bar.
They are providing one hell of a service and that makes a lot of corrupt people in govt very scared.
>>1496476
they are subsiding the rides, paying a lot o money to fight against anti uber laws around the world, and doing bad in china

Hey guys, I did really well on a some technical phone tests for a Fin-analyst job, and they're flying me out on Wednesday to Chicago for a face-to-face interview.
Problem is, my GPA is trash, 2-ish. But the job description doesn't mention good grades, and they haven't asked me for a transcript or what my GPA is yet.
Should I tell them in advance to save disappointment? Or should I take the free flight and assume they don't care about GPA.
>y GPA is trash, 2-ish
lucky me, in europe nobody gives ZERO fucks about gpa. Sounds really fucking stupid system murricans have desu
>>1496435
never offer up information that isn't asked for. seriously.
>>1496435
Fake it until you make it.
I said I had a 3.65GPA for my job, they didn't even check to see if I graduated.
I've got a little idea of what might be the key to financial success.
Obviously there's a shitload of other factors but the main idea is to be with the right people.
I was lucky enough not to become an authistic antisocial shithead and I've got alot of friends, the level of being succesful ranges from living with his mum lurking /b/ all day to have a massive business bringing 6 zeros a year as a 27 year old, built by himself.
And I've noticed a major thing when im seeing any of them,
When i sit down for drinks or lunch or whatever with my semipoor friends the topics of discussion are mostly other people, movies, music, just everyday stuff but focusing on talking about others. Dont get me wrong, im having alot of fun hanging out with them, theyre all likeable and shit. Just with non-ambicious stuff on their minds.
But when i see my wealthy friends, the topics are completely different, we discuss new business ideas, self improvement stuff like courses, schools, gyms and whatnot.
We're all in our mid twenties, some people are preparing to take over their parents companies and some are building something on their own. Im in the second group since my parents have been wagecucks their whole lifes.
I've been running small businesses for 2 years now, its going okay, im not even close to what i would call successful but when i look back those 2 years now when i was starting out, the main source of energy and motivation were my casual meetings with the wealthy friends. I secretly look up to them, and try to learn their or their parents' strategies.
Another thing which have led me to this topic was a friend of mine, whos got ambitions to become a /biz/nessman and he talks about it alot but doesnt really do much, and guess what. His pack of friends are wagecucks, partying every friday and saturday, living from paycheck to paycheck. Theres absolutely noone close to him but me, that does a little more in this world.
So does any of you have the same point of view on this?
>>1496418
You spell like a poor person.
>>1496418
there are people that do things because school, parents, whatever ~ the outside worlds wants them to
And
there are people who do things because they themselves want to.
intrinsic motivation is key
Learning is fun if you are genuinely interested.
work does not feel like work if it's going towards something/ some place you want to go.
Going to the gym sucks
but if that's going give me more energy to do my things then fuck it. I'll go
>>1496418
Hey anon, very interesting story.
I have a few questions I'd like to ask you:
Did you go to college? If yes, what degree?
What are your businesses about? (without going into too much detail)
The pain is just beginning.
26% off its recent high and it's only a matter of time before this share diluting, pseudo penny stock finally flushes out every bargain hunter catching knives above $5.
It's already cracked one key level of support. Watch as it cracks the next one before finally bottoming in the low $4's.
There's going to be quite a few shitters here on suicide watch.
Perfect time to buy to prepare for the coming of the Big Z. This is your last time to score big.

Not an argument and also a violation of global rules.
Then I don't need to feel sympathy for them either.
