Thoughts on the announcement by the Bank of Japan today?

Reaction seems mixed, some commentators seem to think it's Do Nothing: The Economic Plan, others think they have a shot so long as they can control the yield curve.

Japan's economy has shit the bed long enough, it'd be nice to see a return to form.

Articles:

Meaningless.

Japan is as economically "free" as China tbqh.

How is announcing you will control bond rates a market-oriented move?
>>
>>1516066
>Thoughts on the announcement by the Bank of Japan today?
Neutral. I think the market initially took it as a small positive, but once they dug further into it... they saw that it was just more words.

>Reaction seems mixed, some commentators seem to think it's Do Nothing: The Economic Plan,
It is the "Words over Actions" """""plan""""".

>others think they have a shot so long as they can control the yield curve.
They can. But as we have already seen that is not enough. Furthermore the negative effect of NIRP already is ingrained in the banking system.

>Japan's economy has shit the bed long enough, it'd be nice to see a return to form.
It did alright in 2013 and 2015. But that was because the yen depreciated enormously and the US economy imported a ton during those years.

>Any thoughts?
More words. Not actions.

Japan is probably going into another recession Q3-Q4.
The only reason they even are growing (barely) right now is because Chinese want to get money out of their country.
The PBoC should just let the currency depreciate so they can crash Japan's economy.
>>
>>1516273
Yeah the market seems to have had an initial "oh great" followed up "wait...what are you actually doing?"

>Japan is probably going into another recession Q3-Q4.

How come? Is there nothing they can do to reinflate the economy?

Rate my idea for an app bros. It won't cost a gigantic fortune to take create, and might take off with positive word of mouth if done right:

A free app/website that’ll help people get a partner by improving their confidence along with helping them obtain conversational skills needed. It won't be a dating site, but rather will serve as the go-to service for anybody who feels they're too inadequate to get partner on their own.

The service will have the user answer questions and pick out things that describe his/her personality, lifestyle, hobbies, level of interest in subjects, among other things. The user will then decide whether or not he/she is comfortable with they're at, in regards to their lifestyle, hobbies, knowledge in subjects etc. Body image will be included as well.

Finally, the user the will then pick from a pool of things that'll describe why he/she is afraid to approach talking with the opposite sex/person of interest, etc.

With the user's compiled information, the service will help improve self esteem by focusing and amplifying the user's positive traits, to reassure the user how it's nonsensical to feel embarrassed of oneself. This will be done by brilliantly putting things into perspective in a very conversational and convincing way.

To give the user advice on approaching and conversing with people, the user will pick from a pool of options that describe the person they're interested in, and then will give you a list of conversation topics that are in line with the two people, and how to approach him or her.

The service will include a feature that'll help you not only track your progress in how to improve confidence, but will give assign tasks in how to do so, and will allow you to track your progress in accomplishing the tasks.

There perhaps might be an 'unlockable' feature will let users 'opt in' for a matchmaking deal with another user, where the users will have a scheduled live texting chat conversation with each other.

But dude stop and think about it - couldn't this work out?

I mean shit, I could even SELL this service to like Tinder or some dating site and have it bundled with them, as it could theoretically get them more hungry users.

Like, this could work.

Bump

Dry bulk shipping is at the beginning of a recovery from the worst crisis in living memory.
If there's been a time to invest, it's now (or 3-4 months ago if you were a wizard).

Ships are now breaking even, some are even making some money. The market is picking up quickly, daily.

It's still not a healthy sector - most companies are drowning in debt with asset values wiped out. But it's still a very rare opportunity.
There hadn't been a similar crisis since 1985.

Question for any economics lads:

If one were to know that a stock was being bought out by a government to keep the price artificially high, how would an investor make money from this?

I can't see how shorting would work, because the the price is going to be held at that level.

Nope. Im 30 and just starting.

Passive income is a beutiful thing. So os understanding finances and credit utilization. So os bidgeting for "that next step" until u die. Half my income goes back onto investments as do 100% of the earnings. Quitting my job when it beats my paycheck and working no less than 4 hours a day 5 days a week on growing that until my income would be double. Soend the rest of my life giving myself raises while upping the percentage of my income to reinvestments. Teachi g someone my ways and leaving them everything or adding a list of names to a trust fund before i die. Pretty much it. Anything can be had of u want it.

I make pic related in my down time at my 50 hour a week job. Also have a part time job. Working twice as hard for half as long. Worth it? We will see...

Anybody with experience in real estate or property demolition on /biz/? Every time I come across abandoned properties it strikes me as unusual how quickly they fall into a state of complete disrepair. I came across pic related yesterday. Clearly this is an old home, but Google Street View photos from 2011 show it occupied by what appears to have been a very neglectful owner (entire front yard overgrown with thorn bushes, multiple old trucks loaded full of random trash in the driveway, garbage strewn about the property). The 13 acre property is now vacant and was listed on multiple real estate sites last month. Satellite imagery dated 2016 show two additional structures on the property and an excavator that are no longer there, so it is in the process of being demolished.

All of that being said I imagine it was likely a foreclosure. What confuses me is how utterly destroyed the home is on the inside. I've come across hundred year old abandoned homes in better shape than this place. I understand that abandoned properties are quickly vandalized by teenagers but there was no graffiti in here, and the destruction was so thorough that it would have taken at least several hours for a couple of teens with anything short of sledge hammers to do the same. Every shred of drywall downstairs has been bashed out, all of the insulation strewn about the floor.

Does anybody here know what the process is for demolishing vacant properties? Is it done from the inside out? I always figured an excavator would just crush the place into a pulp once the remaining furniture had been removed. Is there a step before where the interior is completely stripped of drywall and carpet?

How do binary options work to make money?

If I predict stock A to go up and I put in a call with £100, I make £182, a return of 82%. Vice versa for predicting a stock A to go down.

My question is what actually happens for money to be made because of a correct prediction?

Who loses when someone predicts correctly?

Yes. All the time.
Even if it's easy shit I could do myself,
That's not the point.
Bootstrapping is for when you are poor, or just starting out, or want to do a task so you can tell someone else how to do it.
If you want success, you shouldn't be doing easy shit, you should be doing higher level thinking.
Delegating tasks clears that space.

I haven't used Filipino ones, no.
I've used Indians.
John Jonas comes highly recommended for info on that in particular.

Then don't. I use 2 or 3 at a time, the data is so separated it's hard for them to do anything with it.
If it's financial or sensitive data, then you hire a fucking accountant / treasurer as appropriate.
If you need to process a lot of sensitive information, use a VA firm that's insured and secured, etc

Are there actually any reliable sites for binary options trading that aren't trying to con you? Additionally, are there any signal providers whom actually know what they are talking about?

I've used stockpair for trading infrequently, but they seem reluctant to withdraw money. As for signals, I've heard Elijah Oyefeso is a good source but that he charges a fair bit for the service.

Has anyone on /biz/ had experience in this area? Is there even a right way to binary trade?

That Elijah Oyefeso guy is disingenuous and somewhat of a scammer. He makes most of his money from commission for signing people up to binary options sites. These sits are also known to trade away people's accounts.

From what I seem his signals seem to be about 80% accurate, enough to turn a profit. It's the actual sites you've got to be careful of
