One thing that seems to follow everyone who is successful is an ability to QUICKLY learn things BY THEMSELVES. How much can you guys read per day and actually retain the information?
7 posts and 2 images submitted.
>>
I'll start. I can read like 80 pages of a novel in one go before I have to go do something else and think about what I read. For a real textbook, that number is probably 50 pages.

I notice a lot of successful people that BLOW through dozens of books every month. They're always reading something new. When they have to learn something entirely new, they get a dozen books and just power through all of them in less than one month and suddenly become practically an expert on the damn subject, or at least equivalent of a bachelors degree holder in the subject.

I'm not sure if textbooks are actually a good way to do this, being that they sort of prep you to get good grades, rather than actually learn, at least it seems that way.

One outlet in my pad goes to someone else's meter. Neighbor, common, I am not sure. It is in a long hallway and I do not want to run any detention cords. Outside of a grow lamp or bitcoin miner is there any way to abuse or make money off this free juice.

Anything that depends on the pretty negligible price of electricity to be profitable probably isn't a very good investment lmao
>>
>>1521429

Yeah, extra tricky because all that juice will turn into heat inside my place. Perhaps a space hearer in the winter months to help cut down on that bill.

there is this guy at my job who is 68yrs old. he can retire but he says he doesnt want to because he is scared he is going to die. i wish he could retire so i could take is place (i'm just a temp worker)

i never heard of such a thing, being scared to retire. what does he mean by this?

he probably means exactly what he said

Imagine working your entire life then suddenly your whole lifestyle changes. Routine is sanctuary for some people. Ever see the Shawshank Redemption?
>>
>>1521353
I know exactly what he means. My grandparents were "forced" out of work. They are now continually depressed, having fights, and just waiting to die while getting extra depressed when they see they cannot provide for their children anymore.
>>

>>1521366
this

Working, having the same routine all your life, and at old age soddenly stop.

That's a recipe for depression and health problems, unless you hate your job.

Is there a minimum amount you should have before you start investing?

Apologies if this is a common question, I don't visit /biz/ very often. I'm a poorfag who works a minimum wage job, but by living frugally over the past year I've managed to save about £1000 that's just sitting in my bank account. Is it worth investing that somewhere? If so, are there any simple guides for retards? Ideally I'd like to make some low-risk investments and maybe get something like 5-10% return each year.

Holy fuck. I don't even know how you people get the motivation to get up in the morning and go to a job paying you that little.
>>
Depending on your stability you should keep 1 to 6 months of expenses as liquid as possible for emergencies. After yo have that saved them you could look at opening a brokerage account and investing

Do technical analysis. Its based on patterns, trends and statistical proof.

Most people here do fundamental analysis which is like guess work.

You can increase whatever you put into stocks by 10% every month. The more you put in the more you get out. Its exponential.

Im giving a free lesson if you are interested.

What does it mean to earn more money in different countries and currencies?

I am confused exactly what the means.

For example, take Norway and Canada.

Average wages in Norway are higher, but prices are also higher. So how exactly does that mean wages are higher? Surely the value of a currency is based on its ability to purchase things?

So wouldn't it be better to live and work in a country with the best wage:price ratio?

Monthly wages in two countries:

Canada $4,134
Norway $5,418

Canada is much bigger than Toronto. What may be true in Toronto is certainly not true in Edmonton or Vancouver or Halifax.
>>
>>1521074
Not always. Compare what you have in each country (ie: health care, public transport, ability to walk to places, etc.) and you may notice that even though a country has a worse ratio, it may be better to live in because of how many of your expenses are covered.
The richer you become, the more important that wage:price ratio becomes.
>>
it also has an impact on the wealth distribution and the size of the middle class
there's an interesting graph on the internet that I can't be bothered to find, but it shows the wealth distribution of multiple countries and the size of the respective wealth classes

basically in Northern europe countries where the standard of life is very high and the wages/prices too, the middle class is considerably bigger than in countries with extreme wealth distribution inequalities such as the USA, the UK, France...

So imagine this:

>You got small loan of 3 million dollars
>You have 10 years to multiply your money by 1000, so you need to have 3 billion dollars by 2026
>What would you do to achieve it? If you accept the money, you must make these money or be killed. You also can't back-out if you accepted it, even if you have all cash untouched.

/biz/ wyd?

either not accept it or accept it and do some fun stuff in my last decade on earth. doubling your money every year 10 years in a row is insane. if you have the connections to do that you'd be rolling in money anyway or you could get 3 million dollars on a cheaper / less dangerous interest rate to bolster your starting capital.
>>
Begin a lottery... with fraud!
Get a trusty friend.
Start with a small 3 million dollar prize.
Hand out overpriced tickets.
Give the winning ticket to your friend.
Wait...
Hooray! Give him a small cut of the money and redo this again!

Very good thread anon. If I where to accept the cash I would either have to do insider trading and hope for the best.
Or dive in with unique business and hope for the best this would have to be something like Google or Facebook though. Last option real estate and hope for the best.

Honestly 10 years will probably feel like one year with that kind of pressure.

Very good thread OP.
