So my high school is running a stock market simulation competition and I'm number 1 right now and it really hasnt taken much work. All I've been doing is finding <$10 stocks that have made crazy 90% gains and shorting them when theyre at the peak. I started doing this last week and I went from a -1.3% return to a 6% return in only a couple days.
Is it really this easy? I'm thinking that perhaps I accidentally found some sort of exploit that is only relevant to that website or simulations in general.
Men, you are gold. Drop out and become a traer, you are gonna be rich in less than 6 months.
Please dont forget about me when you are on the top.
>>1544163
I fucking dare you son. Go ahead and lose your life savings and then some.
>OP clearly incredulous at his success, asking if it might be a problem with the simulation
>/biz/ interprets this as "I AM THE BEST TRADER WHO EVER LIVED I'M GONNA MAKE 50% RETURNS EVERY DAY"
how do you convince yourself that your coworkers, bosses, and CEOS are NOT your friends? the environment i work in is very friendly and everyone seems like a caring family.
i keep trying to tell myself that they do not care about me and that they arent my friends but i know that i am thinking of them in that way.
besides simply reminding myself everyday that they are NOT my friends, how else can i prevent myself from feeling these emotions and feelings of friendship and teamwork and prevent
myself from potentially getting taken advantage of?
Living a trusting life is living a happy life, but it's not without the occasional price.
Just remember that when you pay that price it was worth the benefits that come with trusting people.
Friendship and getting their money in return for your time/effort/talent doesn't seem mutually exclusive.
>>1544199
i have no problem with pretending to be their friends but i think im actually starting to regard them with feelings of companionship and team camraderie which i feel is a weakness.
Realistically speaking, how much do I need in liquid assets to generate a passive income of a million dollars a year and how? If a million dollars aren't realistic then what's the highest amount possible?
>>1544058
If you start with 8500 bucks and increase by 50% every month youll have a million dollars and some change by the end of the year.
>>1544077
nice meme
Can't you do this simple math?
I guess we need people to dig ditches too...
So our best boy Shkrli is probably gonna end up buying 4chan from the spy loving gook.
Do you think he will either crash the site with no survivors or make it great again?
>>1544044
you know he will just shut down the site after buying it, dont you?
what did he do when he bought the Wu Tang Clan album? made sure no one can enjoy it. He will do the same with 4chan. He will shut it down to make sure no one will ever enjoy it again. He's a master troll, simple as that.
>>1544044
>>1544086
OP's pic is a good start though.
>>1544086
I think it'd be the opposite. Most people on the Internet who are aware of 4chan hate it (Reddit, tumbr, twitter, etc.) Those are the same kind of people that also hate Martin Shkreli. If anything, he'd keep this place running the way it is if he wanted to troll people.
Need a /biz/ opinion,
What's stopping me from taking out a $100,000-$300,000 loan then buying an apartment complex?
In my mind being a landlord seems like the best and easiest way to have an income without having to work for someone else. Other than the maintenance it seems extremely profitable.
Any persinal experience?
>>1544030
>What's stopping me from taking out a $100,000-$300,000 loan then buying an apartment complex?
Nothing except you can't buy an apartment complex for 100k-300k.
The return on that kind of investment is usually 10-20 years.
>>1544035
the thing is I've found 8Units for that price, and I'm sure if I invest in one in a foreign country the prices would be even better.
I am having a baby /biz/
Assuming the baby is white, I am going to be the best father imaginable.
My credit score is right around 785. I don't know what I did to get it that "high" and I have no clue how to max it out at 850. It is probably too late for me.
Since I do not think I can get my credit score to 850, I want to get my baby a perfect credit score. How would I go about this?
>>1544023
>Assuming the baby is white
What makes you think it wouldn't be?
>>1544032
you are getting distracted, focus on the question
>I want to get my baby a perfect credit score. How would I go about this?
I don't know too much about credit but a friend of mine was put as an authorized user on his parents credit cards when he was 14.
They never told him about it but they were good with money and managed to not fuck him over.
Now that we are in college he found out he actually has good credit without ever having done anything.
I wish my parents did that for me. But my parents sucked with money so I'd probably be worse off now that I think about it.
How much would you guys pay for a accountant out of high-school who has no degree but took the courses and can do the work? Name a ballpark figure.
>>1543946
0 dollars
>>1543950
And why?
>>1543959
People with accounting degrees or experience aren't hard to come by.
Hair follicle test for finance job?
Hey all, I just got thrown a curve ball for a new job I was offered. Need to pass a piss and hair drug test, first time in my career
How much blow would one have to do to trigger the threshold for Coke? I've used it about 4 times in the past 90 days.
>>1543845
Go to Erowid; better data there than from the spergs on /biz/. I had a follicle test like 10 years ago, I heard 3-6 months of bad behavior is recorded, and yes, 4 rails in 90 days will show IIRC. Go ask erowid; do ya Google too.
>>1543845
>Winners don't get caught using drugs
ftfy.
Really though
>Applying for jobs
>Using any drug that they'd test for
Dumbass. How is that a "curve ball"? You sound like a nigger complaining about a curve ball when they check his criminal record. It's to be expected.
Congratulations on getting that far though.
>>1543880
Not every company blood tests you retard; even if they do, he asked a simple question, no need to be a dick
>that guy who yawns during a business meeting
it's me.
>>1543921
Same, I'm productive tho. There are worse types.
> the guy who just sits there, says yes to everything, and contributes nothing
>>1543958
I contribute nothing and yawn.
Who paid your tuition?
Any answer but 'myself' makes you a literal cuck.

My parents and dead grandparents

So I'm interviewing for an analyst position that I'm qualified to do on paper. But in reality I remember nothing from my education.
They asked me if I could do pivot tables and Vlookups. I said yes because I watched some youtube videos on those things, but if you put a dataset in front of me right now I would have no idea what to do with it.
If they offer me the job should I turn it down rather than risk them figuring out my incompetence later on?
Should I try to relearn all of my education from Youtube videos and blogs before the job starts?
Relearn those two things obviously. Then start relearning your notes
It will take you literally half an hour to learn to do everything you will ever need to do with both vlookups and pivot tables.
>>1543878
thanks, that's encouraging.
- Anyone here have a successful and durable experience in forex trading ?
- What's techniques did you use ?
- With how much money did you begin ?
- Gives me advice for a beginner like me, please.
I am really sad when i read specialized forums in forex, why?
Because all the trading journal I read ends the same way :
They end up losing all their gains and have their account to 0 dollars, after 6 months or 1 year.
I need testimonials from people who really live forex successfully since several years.
http://forums.babypips.com/newbie-island/70214-truth-about-forex-you-cant-become-rich.html
I think this method is the best to learn forex or index cfd:
Depositing tiny amount less than € 200 and try to make it grow until 1000, once in 1000 reached 900 withdraw.
With the remaining € 100, try to grow them again to € 1,000, remove 900 ... etc.
Do it 10 times successfully
Instead of dropping € 50,000, losing after six months, redeposit € 20,000 and lose again after one week.
Warning : this thread is only for winner in forex and CFD market.
>Look at month-long charts
>Find steepest trends
>Buy or short a number of those currencies
>Some will win, some will lose
>Close out of losers and put the money back into winners.
Isn't this the type of trading you use algoritms and sell the algoritms when you've proven they worked.
Forex can be your worst nightmare
Is automated software a legitimate threat to accountants?
>>1543747
Grunt work, yes.
Everything else, no.
This goes for every field.
Admin pin this thread pls.
No need to make more of these threads.
Unless it can help you evade taxes, no.
automated software doesn't threaten jobs rather it creates them. if you cant adapt your work to include those new opportunities you dont deserve to work
Would you rather make $28/hr with time and half OT, or make $65k/yr?
At roughly 45 hr/wk is the break even point. How many hours would you be working per week. >45 take the hourly. <45, take the salary.
I would take the salary. The extra few hours per week would add up.
And don't go thinking you can just work 60 hour weeks and grab an extra 40k per year. Very few employers would allow that.
Depends on the hours and workload expected for the salary.
My goal is 35% US Stock Fund, 20% International Stock Fund, 15% Bond Fund, 10% Gold, 20% Cash.
For those of you who are not degenerate gamblers (stock pickers), how often do you rebalance? Once a year?
>>1543606
Rebalancing... that's cute.
10% gold
Stopped listening right there
