WHY DO MOST COMPANIES BORROW MONEY TO BUY-BACK STOCKS ???

THEY CAN'T KEEP GETTING AWAY WITH IT
12 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
>>1549662
You mean repos? Easy

Get loan of X 1.1
Buy X shares with repo at 1.1
Market rises at 1.5 sell back X
Return loan X 1.1 plus 0.1 interest
X 0.3 profit
>>
It makes sense for them to buy their own stocks because they can directly affect the price. Pretty safe investment for the lending bank.

hi /biz/,

i don't usually browse this board but i'm rather fucked right now and feeling very tired of it. i, as well as my peers, consider myself to be pretty intelligent and a quick learner. always been very into cultivating my interests and becoming fully immersed in them and i feel confident enough to get into something that'll better my life that i'm doing research to make it happen. 21 years old, no savings, no income, no credit, no debt, not employed and the idea of retail, not doing actually thinking and challenging myself, is just mindnumbingly depressing. i'm coming here to ask for your help because i'm incredibly tired of not having enough money, even for the most basic shit in life. i'd really like to work on my own schedule. not as excuse for laziness, but moreso for the flexibility to work weird schedules like 10-15 hours at a time, with being able to go do what i have to do during the day. i've been looking into it and o think i'd be interested in stocks/trading but have absolutely zero experience. it piqued my interest when i became friends with a guy who is a broker and was a millionaire in the 90's, but long story short, his wife shilled him and he's got much less now and although he was in a bad position, he's still doing fairly well, because of the reputation and skills he has and i admire that in a way. it's a risky thing and it's fast paced, but i like that. i've always been into the hustle and flipping whatever i get my hands on to make a bit of money and i've got heart, i just have no idea which road to go down and i refuse to compromise by putting myself into a shit job i have no interest in. if you could provide any advice at all, places to go, things to remember, maybe how to get investments, i literally don't know. i need a discussion at this point. reading static information has gotten a lil exhausting.

tl;dr - heart, creativity, calculated, efficient, attentive, hungry and wanting to hustle but no money and in desperate need of help.

not enough fun to keep me interested desu. i've developed such a hard head that i won't even get into something if i know i'll get bored of it and there's no risk, no thrill, no reason for me to stay sharp doing that. not trying to be a retard but i just am tired of settling on shit that doesn't excite me. thx for the input though, for real. it all helps.

1. You're probably not nearly as smart as you think you are. This is an extremely common misconception, and the biggest source of your problems.

2. Because you have a ridiculously inflated sense of self-worth, you exclude the jobs and careers that would actually be a good match for your talents and intelligence. You consider yourself too good for these jobs, but you're not.

3. So you really have two choices: You can continue to delude yourself that a life of adventure, risk, riches and fame is just around the corner, and only hasn't happened yet because ... reasons. Or, you can grow the fuck up, acknowledge that you're an average dude, accept that your life is probably going to be average at best, and make the best of it.

IDGAF, I just keep buying your commodities for less and less, skipping VAT because incorporated, skipping import tax because "still EU", and selling the product for the same price as before.

My profit margins just keep increasing as you're tumbling down into a bona fide recession which every UK politician keeps saying "won't happen" because "UK STRONK"

I don't regret your decision at all.

What will the next financial crisis look like /biz/?
-Collapse of the dollar
-Derivative bubble bursting
etc.
18 posts and 2 images submitted.

There will never be another financial crisis like 2008 or the dotcom bubble. Financial crises stem from an irrational response to market conditions which precipitates a positive feedback loop. Machines have taken over the majority of trading volume since 2009. They don't respond irrationally: when the price is cheap they buy, when the price is expensive they sell. It doesn't matter what the security's long-term uncertainty is because they only need the price to remain close to constant for the next 30 seconds.

Consider the following:
What happened after Brexit?
What happened after the Chinese Stock market crash?
What happened after the US government shutdown?
What happened after the greek debt crisis?
What happened after the 2011 flash crash?

The answer: a ~10% slip followed by a steady recovery. If you were hoping for something big, you're going to be waiting forever.

But let me guess... You don't know what in?
Well give up already, you've failed at the most important and easiest step.

You forgot the most important part of business: it is about solving a customer's problem, satisfying a need or want. Sometimes people don't even know they want it yet.

In the early 90's Oil of Olay was selling anti-aging creams to middle-aged women but realized they could grow if they started selling anti-aging creams to women in their thirties as a preventative measure.

They create a market that didn't exist before!

Before Apple came along, no one thought that there was a market for pre-fab home computers, since only hackers who loved to solder and build with their hands were buying home computers. They were at the forefront of the PC revolution.

Again, a new market.

And you STILL can't think of a business idea?

Solve a problem in your everyday life.
Find a problem that has a relatively simple to solve solution but you'd pay a lot of money for it.
You know FedEx, it's basically mail but FASTER. that's it, that's the differentiation, and companies pay a premium for it!

What would you pay for help in your life. What would you outsource

Come up with a list of 15 business ideas in the next hour or give up.
>but it's hard everything has been thought of
NO IT HASN'T. Only people too lazy or scared of being rich say that.

NOW GET TO WORK!

I enjoyed reading your asinine advice, OP.

in real life almost all successful businesses aren't new ideas for unexploited markets.

they're the 53rd carpet cleaning company in town that just managed to buy bigger ads and is hungry enough to charge slightly less and do slightly more.

Or landscaping company. Or plumber. Or electrician. Or janitor. Or farmer. Or window washer. Or welder. Or mechanic. Or whatever the fuck everyone else is already doing and making millions at.

to add to that, i just recently started to work as a software engineer at a small firm. we are only about 10 people here. The owner is barely in the office, but he owns two porsche, an audi sq7, a yacht and a fucking big house.
he started right after finishing university and worked hard for 10 years and now he's relaxing.
we're doing pretty basic programming stuff, e.g. web dev and electronics. also sometimes we have a little part in autonomous driving projects.

so, you don't have to reinvent the wheel. just be better, cheaper, or faster and the money will come.

Hi people. I want to purchase bitcoins and want any good trading sites. I live in Norway, Europe. I checked out Kraken and the price was around 500 euros for 0.023344 and so on. This number means one bitcoin? Or 1 euro equal to value in bc? Thanks for any help :)
9 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
>>1549403
it means 500 euros for 0.023344 bitcoin.

If you like, I'll sell you 4 bitcoin for 70,000 euros. pretty good deal considering its around ~100k euro for 1 btc. We can use escorow to resolve any trust issues.
>>
if you are THAT new to trading you should read up some facts first before you even consider starting it... the price of 550€ is for 1 BTC and if someone buys 0.02345 BTC he pays (550*0.02345)€
>>
>>1549431

OP is just being selfish and greedy if he insists on escrow on this offer/deal.

Does this not piss anyone else off? I don't even specify my race when applying online anymore. It really fucks with my brain that these companies somehow think that having more Blacks or Women will make their bottom line better. If anything it would weaken it based on just hiring on Pussy or Melanin.

Also what the fuck am I supposed to say for Race and Gender on these apps? I always say Male, but don't specify Race.

we aren't required by law to hire women or black people or any other group if the applicant isn't the most qualified applicant.
