Wouldn't hurt. Just proactively bring it up in an interview or have a job lined up for when you return. Ask your current employer if you can take a "leave of absence". Some are cool with it, depends on the business.

ideally you want to hire an financial planner to assist in long term plans. 200k isn't enough to live off of.

What most people would do is invest the 200k and continue to work for a living, knowing that they made a significant jump in their future investments and be able to retire even sooner, like in their 40s or 50s, depending on your job prospects.

If you want to look at it this way, you should work when you are young and in good health enough to do so.

If you want to earn about trading stocks, paper trade

you don't need the best trading platform.

all you need is price history, any upcoming catalysts, and real time ask and bid.

for most people, the rest is just a bunch of noise.

you can start with $1000, but you're not going to be able to hop in and out as easily. if you put $1000 on a stock with a $10 commission, you'll need a 2% gain in order to break even on a roundtrip, and that's not including taxes or anything.

well, you missed harvest season, so that's out. one interview for hundreds of applications was pretty typical for me, and I'm from Canada. Going door to door might work better for you, at least you'll be networking and practicing English.

But it's not easy. I'd recommend you wait until spring, because it's harder to get stuff done during a Canadian Winter

Networking on LinkedIn is overhyped, hardly anybody on LinkedIn bothers to respond to information interview requests. Only messages I receive are from sales people trying to recruit new immigrants.

My spoken is pretty decent I am not worried about language ATM.

Take on shit jobs for the moment,and work to pay off your bills and expenses.

At the same time, apply or find ways to obtain your desired jobs.

That is the reality for migrants. Gotta drop the ego and start from scratch. Don't expect your white collar jobs to come easy.

Is there another western method that you would prefer? Would you rather open a muslim style bank, where rather than loan out money and charge interest, they own whichever percent of the business they loaned money to, and took ownership profits/dividends?

I was actually thinking, a small muslim style bank opened in a liberal city like san francisco could do very well, many people would open savings accounts I'm sure.
