So, this is entirely a vidya related biz question.
I currently have my own company, which is only composed of me and my friend. We make video games. Just small ones for mobile and console. We just released our second title. And I started to think about how we can grow ourselves from just a little garage group. We're making okay profits, but nothing to write home about.
My question is, is anyone who has been in the vidya/ or tech app industry can give me some advice on what kind of apps or development strategies will help grow our capital a little faster? I feel like we work hard, but not smart. Our second project only took four months this time instead of a year due to focusing more on a project within our capable hands, but I feel like we can do better. Should I wait to see the results of our second game to see what our capital ended up being for the time invested or use this time to try to rethink our company strategy?

market a lot especially on instagram, over 400 million people use it. Find an especially good ad to run that can get people attracted to your app. Start a page offering a reward to beat a certain score or something but make it attainable enough that people would be interested to keep playing it. Take a profit loss or whatever it is called. Make sure to find advertiser who want to advertise on your app

Get a lawyer you dumbass.

I just started my first job out of college and got my first CC to build credit, a Sapphire Preferred card.
I though about applying for a Sapphire Reserve card but assumed my credit of 675 would be too low. I make $96,000/year though. Would my salary have been enough to get me approved?
>>1581826

start off with chase sapphire preferred, your credit is mediocre income doesn't matter
Why aren't you investing in him, /biz/?
My corpse will have decomposed by the time I see positive returns.
SpaceX is not a publicly traded company.
Invest in OA (Orbital ATK Inc) if you want to get in on the space race. It just dipped 10 bucks due to a military contract deal, but is one of two companies supplying the International Space Station.
It's, quite literally, going to the moon and beyond.
Any suggestions how to deal with an eBay scammer and their shitty seller support? Nothing adds up, there's tons of evidence on my end, but I've spoken with several eBay reps who have literally told me there is nothing I can do.
I have an eBay storefront that is several years old with around 2000 feedback, 100% positive. The suspected scammer is less than a month old with only 1 feedback. They are domestic, so no int'l b/s here.
A couple weeks ago, I sold a Macbook Pro and a Macbook Air on the same day. Shipped them both on the same day. The MBP buyer (suspected scammer) claims to have received the MBA instead. I've messaged the MBA buyer to see if they were mixed up also, but its been over a week without a response. These are the first and only Macbooks I have ever sold.
A MBP weighs a couple pounds more than the MBA. I've checked my shipping receipts from the post office, and going by the weight alone, they do match with the correct shipping addresses.
The MBA I sold was a 2013 model with a blue protective cover installed. The scammer has provided pictures that show a 2014 model, different serial numbers than mine, and they did not receive a protective cover.
I've called eBay support no less than 4 times in the past week, and every person tells me I have to offer a refund. The last rep I spoke to literally told me that there is no way I could win this case unless the buyer admitted to lying about the item. No amount of documentation or evidence would help decide in my favor. Any of my inquires about the absurdity of the situation were dismissed and I was told "this is just the risk you take selling on eBay"
What the hell can I do? None of this makes any sense.
Sold a segway on ebay to a guy 1000 miles away. It worked, I tested it before I sent it to him. He said it was broken, he got all the money back from paypal that I had already spent on my mortage. Immediately put me over 1k in debt. It has been two years and the segway was NEVER returned.
This debt caused a divorce and forced me to lose my children.
If I ever find this scammer I will kill him with my hands.

>>1581707
how the hell do you ship a segway?
I would go to his house and kick his teeth in
Was going to ask /o/ but this is probably a /biz/ type of question.
I was talking to someone and they were surprised I have a license, can drive but have no car while in my mid 20s...
Is that bad? Am I missing out or something?
Everything is close by, so I didn't find any need in getting a car.
Should I? Am I "ostracizing" myself by not owning one?
>>1581698
>Should I? Am I "ostracizing" myself by not owning one?
You're ostracizing yourself from convenience and more job options in most cases.
Unless you live in like NYC or Tokyo and then public transit probably isn't good enough to be anywhere near comparable.
It just gives you more flexibility in life in general
I'd seriously look into getting something nice and small, low insurance, low tax, high mileage.
You'd be surprised the difference it makes.
>>1581701
Okay. So taking on a car loan + insurance + gas + parking spot would leave a good dent in my paycheck but I can do it I think.
Question is - is it worth it right now?
Why the fuck are Canadian stock brokerages so fucking insecure?
>Most don't have 2FA
>Very vague/loose fraud protection statements
>At most they got security questions - highly vulnerable and insecure really - security questions can be easily stolen
>Weak callcenter security
>Etc
Seriously wtf?
Is it really THAT hard to adapt something like two-phone verification? God dang man. I don't feel safe trading my $150k account, let alone have any clue how people with multimillion dollar accounts do it.

Dear Anon,
I am more and more inclined to figure out a way to live off dividends on investments. What would be a good way to establish such a setup?
I am looking at mutual funds mainly. They seem to be offering the highest yield and ROI that I can see.
So for instance, on average yearly dividend of 10% (is that not realistic?) on 1,000,000 investment with half reinvested into the fund and half taken out as living expenses would result in continuous growth adjusted for inflation and modest but comfortable 50k a year to live off of.
Is this a solid setup?
What funds do you recommend?
Do you recommend other types of investments?
I KNO U KNO
>>1581604
>I am more and more inclined to figure out a way to live off dividends on investments.
Why?
How much do currently have to invest?
>what is inflation
>what are taxes on capital gains
And 10% is unrealistic as fuck.
anyone else concerned that hundreds of billions are being made by hackers every year and virtually none of them are ever being prosecuted.
Case:
Account fraud
>Fraud costs the UK up to £193bn per year, reports says - Financial Times
>literally 0 people jailed in the UK for account fraud over 100k GBP
>99-95% no charge or conviction for under 10k GBP
The cost is just passed onto the average person, micro charging each citizen...
The USA is into the trillions and again has less that 50 people convicted, and nothing like the amount needed to pay the bill these guys racked up.
I wouldn't say I'm concerned as much as I am envious and wish I could do the same thing without getting caught
>>1581534
I cry about this every day.
People make SO FUCKING MUCH and I keep missing out. No more. No fucking more
>>1581536
Now is the time to change.
We're going to fucking do this. There's no point living as poorfags anylonger.
What books does /biz/ recommend? What should I start with?
Jeb! Get that guacbowl off your head right now young man!
Reading self help books is for losers and makes nobody money but the authors. Find a mentor in the industry you want to succeed in.

I'm not expecting to become a millionaire from reading a book. I'm just trying to learn the basics
I want to learn about economics and how things work, not because its my field, but because I would like to be knowledgeable enough to hold my ground in conversations.
