How pretty is your credit card /biz/? What's the most aesthetic one?
I remember around 10 years ago my parents would give me old credit cards to play with and they were beautiful, with different designs like lions and stuff. At some point it obviously changed because now they all look bland as fuck (UK here).
I just got this because its pretty much the best all around card.
Ugly as sin though.
shitty b8 m8

I have the capital one quicksilver and it looks okay. I do remember way back when cards looked neat and interesting but It's not just credit cards that went down the shitter aesthetically--it's everything. Just look at IKEA's garbage (or most anywhere else) where it's mostly low-quality pressboard dunked in a vat of white paint then they try to sell it for $hundreds. Basically, credit cards being bland, usually a solid color and ugly, is a symptom of the abysmal design being imposed on people in this decade.
How did you do today?
What stocks are you watching?
What stocks are you investing in, and why?

Holding onto GXY until December.
On another note, can someone explain capital gains tax to me? Do I have to manually pay it come tax time or does it get automatically deducted somehow?
>>1583675
NUH up to 8c, highest its been in ages.
Hopefully it surpasses its midyear high of 11c sometime soon.
Interested in GPP, recently had a couple of good announcements with a massive amount of growth in the past week.
Apparently there another announcement in store sometime soon, so expecting it to rise again. Wont buy in until I find a good source of that upcoming announcement.
>>1583690
Come tax time, ie last couple of months, you need to declare you total capital gains ie your net revenue from messing around with shares. Not the sources of those gains though.
If your capital gains come from shares you've held for more than 12 months, you only need to declare half of your profit from said shares.
>>1583732
If you have bought and sold some shares does the calculation of capital gains work on a FIFO or LIFO basis? Prefer a quick answer here rather than digging through tax info
Do you ever fear getting rich will make life emptier?
It's already empty

>be me in eastern europe, Lithuania
>papa owns small company, which does installation work of plumbing, heating systems, water supply, ventilation into households.
>just finished highschool
>lemme do a gap year, work my ass off, earn big bucks and go to Denmark to study next year.
>papa employs me
>first month work as a helper in construction site - earn 400 euro feelsprettygood.jpg
>second month they put me work in office to learn n stuff, if one day i will inherit company and continue dad's work.
>earn barely 300 euros, parents still pay me for living expenses so i understand.
>third month i work until noon in office and then they send me to collect signatures for renovation work in appartaments.
>work until 22:00 (because most of the folk arent home until 17:00)
>hey papa you are gonna pay me for the extra hours right?
>"No, you don't do shit"
>WTF?!
Should I quit and look for some other job or am I being too sorry for myself? Minimum wage is (380 euros)
>>1588693
Do you have such a shitty relationship with your father that you can't just have this discussion with him directly?
^forgot to mention that at the same time i collect signatures i install the switches, heads or whatever you call them in english for radiators in the apartaments as well.
Also at dinner
>Papa:"Hey anon you earn your own money pay for dinner plx"
>>1588701
My father is a stupid jew (figuretively speaking) its hard to get through to him. Doesn't want to pay, doesn't notice the work. thinks I just laze around and constantly bombards me with passive aggressive comments like "what kind of different work would you like?" Sometimes he goes bold with my "unproductiveness" Even if I do get through to him the effect wont last long, because he soon gets back to his old self. So it's wasted effort, unfortunately.
>>1588693
Consider yourself lucky that your dad has a business to pass down to you, you ungrateful fuck. I'm starting one from the ground up because my dad never did and has been hell just trying to get it off the ground. Do you have any idea how easy it would've been to just to inherit a business that is already up and running? All that experience you're getting is your payment, go tell your dad thank you.
Want to get rich? One word: Bread napkins.

How do we capitalize on the tremendous upcoming demand for day care?
>>1588417
>tremendous upcoming demand
what makes you think this?
There's only a demand for cheap daycare.
>>1588417
Open a daycare.
I give you $30k in cash and tell you that I have hired a professional hitman. If you haven't turned that $30k into $1 million (cash or assets) in exactly two years, I have instructed him to assassinate you. What's your plan?
The only actual answer is Vegas or other similar risky stuff
>>1588366
I spend $30k on the weapons that I'll use to kill you and your faggot hitman.
>>1588366

Another braindead college kid crying about a tiny swing.

/biz/, what are the most requested certifications in the IT business?
I dont have a degree, currently on a uni hiatus, was studying CS but didnt like how university approaches subjects.
I've always been interested in networking and security.
Was thinking of taking the CCNA test. Still need to figure out which one, security, routine or whatever.
What certs do you guys have?
What certs do you look for when hiring someone for your IT company?
>>1588253
Go through job postings and write down how many times you see a specific skill or certification. That way, you can make an informed decision based on your own research instead of relying on the opinions of strangers on a Mongolian goat breeding forum.
>>1588266
the ony job postings here are on newspapers and they're really basic shit.
and there are no sites like zip recruiter or stuff like that
I can look at rankings of the most requested certs and they check out considering what I know but since I live in a shit country and with no degree Im fucked
>>1588279
What country?
If you can't find a job there, move. And please don't bother posting some lame excuse as to why you can't.
What kind of complex bullshit can I learn that will allow me to make money just by mainly answering questions as a part time job? I work fulltime but want to learn a skill that I don't need to go to school for and can make some decent money just for being able to learn fast.
>>1588103
>How can I make the most money with the least effort
Wow never seen a thread like this one before, what an original question OP!
>>1588112
literally /biz/ the post
>>1588122
Truuuuuuuu dat!
All it needs is "and I need to do it in the next 20 days"
>>1588103
Literally anything OP.
This is the thing you lazy fucks don't realize, even the smallest mountain is still a fucking mountain to climb. Instead of searching for the shortest mountain, how about looking for the one where you're already closest to the summit? i.e. possess a sensibility or skill set that naturally suites itself to a particular field.
I suggest Kneepads.
How do we short the coming student loan market collapse /biz?
We all know the FED will raise interest rates soon and the college kiddies can't make enough working at mcdonalds to pay it back so that will mean massive defaults.
The next 2008 is right around the corner.
>>1588009
$NAVI
>>1588014
Doesn't have much value. The stock is almost worthless now as it is.
Aren't student loans federal anyway? Wouldn't shorting bonds be better?
>>1588024
You obviously have no idea what you're doing brother.
Can anyone explain to me why I am Bagholding 1k Monero eventhough I can see bitcoin mooning and still insist on bagholding ?
>pic related... how much 1k monero will be worth by novemeber
>>1588005
sell that shit
>>1588005
if you're not 'trading', just relax. you'll have a chance to sell much higher if you just wait.
>>1588005
I forgot the word for it, but it's a cognitive bias common in stocks as well, where you're reluctant to sell until you at least break even.
Of course if you believe in the time value of money, every day you bag-hold you're losing potential earnings.
The trick is to see your expenditure as a experiment, as a risk.
Some guy was chatting me up at Starbucks last night that works in investments for a hedge fund apparently. He didn't go so far as trying to recruit me but it sure felt like it. He said he uses some trading bot or something using theta on options. Is this another Starbucks scam or is there something to it? I've bumped into ads for stuff like this online and haven't seen much in the way of dismissal like there is with cryptos/mlm/pyramid shit.
Do you guys know anything about this? I'm pretty sceptical and we weren't discussing this on his yacht in the Caribbean so I'm inclined to think it's bullshit.
Bump for knawledge
>>1587902
Recruit you for what?
>>1587951
Some kind of investment thing. Recruit isn't really the right word. I think he wanted me to invest with him
