Is stock trading the "hacking" of economics?
>>1593265
just betting with no actual value added, go out there and actually produce something and innovate, fuck trading and finance
>>1593265
It's more or less betting
You can see patterns and do extremely well, but the entire basis of trading is based on how the public perceives worth, which can be rather unpredictable
>>1593268
without the stock market, companies would not easily be able raise capital to go out there and actually produce something and innovate
Recreational marijuana is polling ~53-36 in California. I believe that Gary Johnson is correct in saying that this will be the tipping point that leads to legalization almost everywhere in the next 10-15 years. Ten years happens to be my approximate retirement time. Which publicly traded marijuana stocks are posed to be successful in the mid term? What about other companies that are likely to be successful because of legal weed?

Self bump
>>1593221
I myself have thought about this for the last few months, and am just going to stick to the canadian producers. Every time I look at companies in Cali (etc.) I worry that there is just going to be hundreds of companies out competing each other.
The thing that reassures me of the canadian companies is that they are sanctioned by health canada (their version of the FDA). Theres only a few companies allowed to exist, so there will only be several BIG companies, by the way things are going for now. The states has no such systems in place. Mid term, Canada is the way to go in my opinion. They should see a nice bump when Cali processes the vote too.

Let's say hypothetically that you are given the opportunity to hold a monopoly over a method to achieve an arbitrary computational goal of choice. To further clarify things, let's say that this method is (1) 100% correct, with all existing alternatives being approximations, and (2) not significantly more time consuming than any other alternative (and potentially more efficient).
I give you two questions, with the goal of maximizing the profit obtained from such a monopoly:
1. Which computational goal might this be? For example, the goal could be optimal flight planning or production scheduling.
2. How, specifically, would you go about monetizing this method?
DNA sequencing every big crop. But every agricultural big name is doing that now.
Sequence rich people's bloodlines? That's already being done.
Sequence populations by race? I can't see who would pay you for it.
You could rent your equipment out to low end schools and low end research organizations.
Or you could rent out your equipment to small scale medical startups near Stanford.
>>1593018
>DNA sequencing
How marginal of an improvement would a 100% accurate method be over what the big names are currently doing?
How would you monetize the improvement or incentivize these big names to rely on your service?
>equipment
While I suppose the scope of the question might include a method that relies on specific equipment, let's say that you have a monopoly on a computational method. That is: you can answer a question nobody else can (or, at least, you can answer a specific question better than anybody else can).

My car went in a lake yesterday and I'm making a gofundme to replace it. How should I spread the gofundme link online for optimal donations?
Why would anyone want to give you money for this?
I hope you don't get funded because your next car will probably just go in the lake again since you were dumb enough for it to happen once.

Is having a ton of money only fun when you're under like early 30s?
A ton of money is only $90,800,000
That's celebrity lifetime income tier money. Some Hedge Fund Managers make that in a month.
Only if you get married and have children.

>>1592865

what's the difference between Muslims and terrorists?
>>1592869
Muslims are peaceful people who absolutely despise anyone who is remotely liberal. They also destroy ancient civilizations by rewriting their history to suit their mentally ill ideas.
Terrorists are individuals who use fear/terror to attain political gain.
Hey guys, just got hit with a $214 bill from a dermatologist, quick story;
>be uni-poorfag
>have cysts I want removed (for women)
>dermatologist says i'm 100% covered, but only for full body exam/ mole biopsy
>says I can make an appointment later for cyst removal, and a get a discount after I do biopsy
>be today, get hit with $214 bill for them to remove a non cancerous mole, full body exam
>still have cysts, literally no point to visit
>still self conscious about self with cysts
What recourse do I have here? I don't want my credit to get fucked up, but I also don't want to pay for some B.S. designed to scam insurance companies over skin cancer fears.
>wants to attract women

Thoughts on Amway and multilevel marketing in general?
It's very little known in my country and a friend of mine recently joined it. He has been repeating like a robot how you can become rich with it.
I refused his invitation to join him because I have my own business ideas that I'm developing and I would rather to have a business that it's truly of my own even if it's not that profitable.
But it left me thinking how it is on other countries
