can i have sex with my assistant?
20 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
if you're asking this question then most likely answer is yes
>>
>>1604180
its not a good idea to fuck people in the work place.

watch that jerry seinfeld episode where he gets a maid, then starts having sex with her.

tl;dw is she does a good job, they fuck, now she slacks off, and still gets paid the same wage.

costanza fucks his assistant and he ends up getting fired for it. if you're in a position like jerry, you can easily let her go and hope she doesn't sabotage your position of power.

life's problems can always be summed up with a seinfeld episode

I am in college, but lack optimism for whatever comes after college. I do believe if you have a nice education on resume you can get a decent job, but sometimes i don't know.
What career do you recommend pursuing and why? What will give me the best advantages financially and not have me stuck in a cubicle doing suicide-worthy boring work all day?
The most important to me is income and the type of work. For now, I have no clue.
Please, and Thank you!

Did you pick a major yet?

Please don't just follow random career advice from strangers on a Mongolian mountain goat milking forum.

Analyze yourself. What are your strengths? What are your weaknesses? What do you enjoy?

Analyze the market. What industries are hiring? What industries are shrinking? Where might you enjoy working?

Only then will you discover your true career.
>>
>>1604171
Yes, I appreciate that... I've heard this from people close to me as well. I have no major selected, which is why i'm here. I am willing to put in the work towards anything, I just don't want to take the wrong path.

About to buy my 3rd vehicle through pic related. Never got a vehicle with problems, and i usualky save about 4-6k compared with the dealer.

Plus I get to rent the thing for 3 days to see if i like it, if i buy the car they wont charge for rental.

I know about Manheim, but dont they charge to use them?

You can buy lemons that have been returned to the dealership for substantial markdowns sometimes.

Have to research what you are doing but it's a viable option.
>>
>>1604124
Never done this before. I've bought all of my cars from mechanic shops. If you ask for it they'll usually give you a good warranty or repair plan since they will just do the labor themselves. Two quick examples- I bought a 2006 Grand Marque a few years ago. Bought the car and had the guy throw in an oil change, checkup, etc along with a warranty before paying. Other car was for my brother, got an Altima, which ended up having a bad transmission a few weeks after we got it. Shop fixed it for free since we had agreed on a warranty. Buying a used car is always a crap shoot. I've bought a lemon before and it really sucks, so it's nice to have some assurance that if things go wrong, you have some recourse.

Why do my oriental colleagues suggest hoarding money to purchase rental property opposed to my white, western colleagues suggesting max contributions to a 401K for investment purposes? Why the different mentality? We're all salaried accounting professionals in the SF Bay Area.

Interesting perspective. Is it because Americans have been sheltered from the rising geopolitical events unlike their Eastern counterparts?
>>
>as if they don't do both

I'm considering starting a website with event information for students, I tried finding competitors etc, but there is nothing like it all (which I found extremely surprising).
Does /biz/ have any good recommendations for monetizing websites that are free to use?

So far I have, non-intrunsive ads (I hate ads myself and many young people use ad-blocker anyways.)
Companies can pay to have their events featured on the front or pay for featured content on blog/discussion areas.
Companies can pay for e-mails to be sent out to relevant subscribers.

>>
Those strategies are about all you can do. Easiest way to catch up with monitization ideas is to analyze your competition (with adblock disabled).
You'll make most of the revenue from selling featured ads and sponsored email newsletters. Unless you're really good with display ads.
I remember hackernews had a stint where a bunch of event aggregators were popping up. I still use one of them I found there -- etrigg. Do some searching there (hackernews), the comments re more insightful than anything you'll read on biz.
Are you coding the website yourself or outsourcing it? Have you ever done a project like this before?
>>
>>1603866
It's my project, but I have a friend who does websites for a living and he has accepted to do it for me for a good price as he is studying, so we meet up and work on it together, so technically he is on my payroll. I have seen the previous work he has done and it is very good.
I have no previous experience with websites or anything, so I am trying to learn everything that I can. But if it fails, then it's no big deal, it's an interesting side project but not going to my main thing.
I'm currently working as a junior consultant while studying my masters in finance, so it's something I work during weekends or whenever I have time.
>>
>>1603879
Where will you be pulling events from?
Do you plan on manually inputting them? If not, who's job is that going to be?
Is your time valuably spent by scraping local calendars and adding those events to your website?
Who will be finding and contacting event managers to close sales on premium event listings? Those things don't sell themselves.

Nobody wants to visit an event calendar with no events. And nobody wants to buy premium listings on a website with no traffic. Most of your time will likely be dedicated to marketing.

Is it worth it?

Has anyone here done it?

Got a 10-page essay due Tuesday and I can't for the life of me get in a good frame of mind to write it.

Gonna try to answer without shilling.

Yes it is worth it imo

Keep in mind this is my job but for the past 5 years it's been treating me right. I guarantee my clients at least a b or i refund their money give them a free project and feel bad about myself for sucking at my job. Idk how other gws do it but i complete the assignment, tell client its done, then get payment first but send them the file seconds after being paid. A good gw should offer to edit/rewrite until youre happy for no extra charge. They should also encourage you to google the entire paper and take anti plagiarism counter measures to ensure their is no risk taken by the client when handing the work in. They should also also encourage you to read the entire thing carefully to familiarize yourself with the content so you feel natural answering questions about it. A really next level gw will also ask you what bias to reflect in the writing in case your teaching lady is a level 9 libcuck and u want to suck her box by sharing her opinion.

wARning SHILL LINE ends here!!!!!

I am a broke student and have a lot of bills to pay but I am running out of cash. I tried applying to jobs but nothing yet.
How can I make some side cash?
Was thinking of shoveling snow, maybe flipping some items on ebay/local classifieds.
What else can I do? No, Not buying Kneepads.

Make Youtube Videos
>>
>>1603527
There's practically an infinite number of things you can do. It's like asking what car should I buy when there's a thousand different makes and models and I don't mention what continent you're on or any requirements I have.
A side job is a side job. If you have zero skills/talents, you have no option but laborious tasks you mentioned. Snow shoveling. Baby sitting. Dog walking. You'll probably make more with a webcam on chaturbate.
Not to knock those things. Some people buy things at goodwill/garage sales and flip them on ebay for a profit. But since you're broke, you likely lack the capital to risk for that sort of thing.

If you ask stupid questions, you get stupid answers like >>1603529.
>>
>>1603529
with the recent youtube updates i dont see how that will be beneficial.. And I don't think youtube will earn me much unless I scale the fuck out of it and build up the SEO which takes months and is not guaranteed.
I made some money with content lockers and affiliate marketing but the constant algo changes and updates from social media fucks my shit up and I end up in the red. I don't have enough experience with that just yet but i would like to get back into it this summer once I am free from my engineering classes.

Is there some kind of a nondemanding online job that you can do so you can live like a neet. Just enough for basic living so you can focus on more important stuff instead of wageslaving?
7 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
No. Anything non-demanding online job is for fools who value their time at pennies by the hour.

Anything worth more requires an investment from you: Time. Creating something of value. And learning how to sell.

I'm curious, what do you consider the "more important stuff" to focus on?

what are we buying? do you think monday will really be the big day? i figure it will be lower after trump wins the election.
>>
>>1603518
VIX, Gold, Crypto. Can also have a straddle set up if you're into options.

If Trump wins, the stock market fall in the short term but then quickly rebound in a week. His proposed tax cut policies would be extremely attractive to businesses so the market will eventually price that in after they get over their temporary autism.

Hey /biz/man, should I put all my shekels in S&P 500 ETF?

Hillary will win, so we will see more QE within the next years, right?

>>
>>1603482
If you are not looking for quick money, you should be doing it anyway. If Shillary wins, the index will bounce back a bit, if Trump wins, I have at least five years to recoup the losses, so I don't care. I am buying in on Monday.

Yeah, I would probably not hire someone who looked totally crazy. Looks aren't everything, but they do says a lot about someone. Usually they are trying to say "Look at me, I'm special" and that's not someone I want to work with.

Anyone have first hand experience?

im a smalltime day trader.. i trade with my own funds.. its absolutely shit, if you dont have access to immense capital. You need at least 200k imo to live off your daytrade profits

you'll get better money being a wagecuck, but trading is enjoyable for me and doesnt take much effort.

What the fuck. You can make fucking great money a day with 1k. What the fuck are you doing?
>>

forex guy huh? what method do you use?

You have to highly leverage your 1k to make significant profits.. which means you can lose it easily too.
