Did anyone actually makey money off memecoins?( or did everyone else make it rich except for our losers at 4chan, as usual)
>>1606267
who DIDN'T make money from memecoins?
memecoins, easy cash
Okay bizzzzzz. I've saved up $15 000, and have no idea how to spend it. I was thinking about maybe buying a car of some sort, but i guess there are better ways to treat your money. although $15k isnt an awful lot, I think it would be a good amount for starting off with. I have little understanding of investments and moneymaking in general besides what I'm paid by the hour at work. How would you spend $15k /biz/?

$3000 car
$2000 in global bonds etf
$8000 in global stocks etf
$1990 in my country's 5-year bonds
$10 worth of chocolates
This is because I already have an emergency fund.
I'd day trade penny stocks in rhg and buy waves

Do you have any more balance sheets to view besides the two?
That's usually not nearly enough to get to know a company
Also, there should be notes about anything this major on the statement
Check around, you probably missed them
Looks pretty simple: they borrowed money to buy investment properties. Their current borrowings probably rolled over into long-term borrowings. Don't put too much emphasis on short-term balance sheet entries.
Former long-term borrowings -> Current borrowings most likely, maybe increased short-term borrowings for increasing working capital. Without looking at the notes I'd be concerned for liquidity issues on the short term.
Has anyone ever considered how much money there is to be made with buying online and returning to a store with a higher price? I routinely see deals online where due to coupon codes or temp sales there are items being sold for a third of what they go for in a brick and mortar store. Granted most of these stores will only give you store credit if you return without a receipt and they limit you to three returns in a three month period. However if I were to switch between kohls, walmart, and target I could easily do three returns per month at one store and rotate per month. Assuming the item costs 100 online and 300 in store that's 900 in store credit a month. You normally lose about 10 percent when selling gift cards online so let's call it 800. After the original cost of the three items that brings me to 500 a month. That's an extra 500 just to order shit online and drive to the store to return it. Shit even if I didn't want to go to the store I could easily offer a friend 100 dollars to do the returns for me.
Someone please tell me where the downside is here?
>you won't find deals like that every day... I do find deals like that every day, but I only need three a month.
>what are you going to say when they ask you why you're returning the item... it was a gift and already have one
>>1605984
You really going to put in all that effort just for some chump change?
>>1606179
Finding the item and buying it online is 5 minutes
Driving to the store and back and returning it is 20 minutes
Selling the gift card online is 5 minutes
That's 30 minutes, three times a month is 90 minutes
All that effort for 500 dollars... for 1.5 hours work which comes out to around 333 dollars an hour. That's an extra 6000 a year for 18 hours of work.
If you have a way to put in less effort to earn more money please let me know.

I want to start off by saying that this isn't a troll post and I am trying to start a genuine discussion on this subject matter.
Can someone explain to me the point of retirement investment strategies like a Roth IRA or a 401k? Everyone keeps telling me that I am an idiot for not taking advantage of these systems but the idea of it just seems silly to me. I am 25 now so I have some life experience under my belt but I still don't know if this is because I am just financially illiterate or everyone else is a fucking retard (which is what I am starting to suspect).
From what I understand thus far, it's kind of a "fool-proof" method of securing some retirement money for yourself by the time you are 60. Sounds nice. My issue with this is that you are essentially surrendering yourself to a lower income bracket at that age... otherwise you defeat the whole point of higher deductions in the present in exchange for lower taxes in the future.
Basically, you can't access all of your money without being taxed out the ass so you end up living on some meager fixed income until you die. Who the fuck would agree to this? Never mind the fact that with all the shit that happens in this world, you are locking up thousands of dollars which could potentially be used for other opportunities, for a very long period of time.
It just doesn't make sense to me.
>>1605823
becuase if you put in 10k a year and let it grow at the avg of 7% a year you will have a million atleast by the time you retire, if not more.
and having this not be taxed at the same rate (dont know the exact workings as canada is a bit different)
>>1605823
Do you like paying taxes on your dividends and capital gains?
>>1605823

While this anon is mathematically correct. 7% gains is not gauranteed. Who knows if the stock market will really continue to take off. 45 years is a long time to wait and you be to old and senile then to really use it. I have a 401k but i only contribute 1%, kind of as a go with the system type thing to appease my coworkers. However, i dont really count on having that money and i would cash out in a heartbeat (it was all matched by my employer). While it was good for the people that started using it first i think there eventually will be a systemic collapse or simply inflation will eat whatever you gained anyway. I believe it is mass delusion due to the one basic assumption that is 6 7 8% or whatever annual growth.
McManager here looking for advice on two things. One, in about six months I'm expecting to become GM of my store, is there any advice on how to run or what to expect as a GM? Second, our store is in a severe staff shortage, we have about 21 employees with a required minimum of 40 to run the store properly. There are days where the store only has about 9 people spread from 5am to 1am. Does anyone have any advise on getting new employees? Our store is in a small town, with the nearest cities being about 20-45 Mon away
Should I get a job at mcdonalds?
I'm a neet. Would you recommend it?
>>1605659
Hire slowly so you can get used to it. Hire competent people. Put trust in your employees to teach the newbs the trade, perhaps give trainers a slight raise if possible to give them an incentive to be more professional.
>>1605659
start grooming an assistant, someone that's willing to be available whenever. otherwise you're going to be covering a lot of shifts.
advertise for employees in both engrish and Spanish. Play up the free food (if you do free food), flexible hours, whatever. Target kids in high school and college. Ads in the paper, see if you can run ads in school papers. Attend job fairs.
Pay more if you can get away with it.
when you get a good employee ask if they have friends or family that might want to work.
What to expect... I've never worked for MickeyDee's, from what I understand their GM's are among the lowest-paid in the industry. Probably not a lot of autonomy. In other fast food you may expect to be blamed for anything that goes wrong, responsible for covering any shortages on the schedule, and ridden like a $3 mule to reach your numbers. In most cases you'll also get some great bonuses for hitting your numbers, bonuses which can double your salary. You can also get laid a lot.
other than that it's trained monkey work. Also a very fine line between management and fraud or theft. Some of the tricks to hitting your numbers probably aren't kosher. You'll be constantly watching for theft, and being watched as well.
Am I crazy for preferring consulting to investment banking?
>>1605646
i am planning to at the end of this degree join the McKinsey master race for 2 years pre-MBA then head out on my own
>>1605646
Consulting is more interesting and has more room for specialty I would think.

I want to join the army but I am scared that I would be discriminated against after I get out. Would a potential employeer be discouraged to hire someone because they wentt into the army?
Also let's say this person who joined got a job as an engineer. Would his army credentials, certificates or experience be worth anything right out of the army?
Thank you very much in advance hopefully I posted this on the right board.
>>1605613
employer here.
we don't discriminate against veterans in the US. In most cases we prefer to hire them.
no, most of your training and certifications from the military won't be accepted in real life. Any degrees you get from a normal college still count though. So if you go the officer route your degree will carry weight in the private sector.
Veterans also get +7 to their Working For The Government roll, whether as an employee or contractor.
>>1605613
Employers certainly wouldn't discriminate against military experience. In most cases, it's seen as a positive (hard work, discipline, etc.) But the most important thing would be to use any time in the military to best prepare you for a civilian career. If you want to be an engineer, your best bet is to be an Army Engineer.
>>1605613
It would make you look good, but unless you have a concrete goal that service will train you for, it's not worth the 4 years you could otherwise spend on your career. Bear in mind, that rates that give you applicable skills in the real world a la nuke or aviation are highly competitive nowadays.
So unless you want to do it for emotional reasons, or get your dick slobbered, I would say it is not worth the opportunity cost.
USAA is a damn good bank tho
Well I guess I sold too early those Canadian weed stocks, but still made out like a bandit. Do people really think this is a good long term investment?
>>1605594
>Long term
only up until the final legalization announcement/Legalization day
How do I cash in on the american market when federal legalization finally happens? Its coming likely within the next 5 - 10 years, so do I start investing now or later?
i don't know about stocks but i also wonder what i could to to position myself when it will be legal in canada. i wonder if it will be liquor stores or pharmacy who will have the monopoly or it will be free for all. i guess i would like to grow some to sell locally , as a hobby.
anyone here work at a headshop? we sell a few bongs where i work and i was wondering where i could get more quality products at a good price. i haven't looked around much. i guess i could check over at aliexpress but i would prefer to work with a north american business.
>apply for job
>no experience
>rejection letter
>repeat x100
>decide to try volunteering in the meantime to get some experience
>get fucking interviewed go volunteer
>they go with a "more qualified applicant"
Seriously what the fuck? I can't even fucking work for free. I'm that incompetent. I have an engineering degree for fucks sake. What in the everloving name of fuck am I supposed to do? I can't even get hired at Walmart because I'm overqualified. I will have to take off my degree from my resume if I want to wagecuck for minimum wage stocking shelves for the dregs of society (of whom I will soon be a part of)
My guess is that you are a bit autistic and the people at this organization don't want to volunteer with a possible psycho. The fact that you have an engineering degree backs up my theory. Learn some social skills.
What type of engineering degree and from what college?
>>1605465
OP you must be autistic. I have a god damn degree in philosophy and even I managed to score a job at a financial institution.
What do you guys think will moon when Hillary wins? I'm not falling for the TVIX or JNUG meme.
Nothing, tax increases will bring everything down.
Already priced in. Efficient markets are efficient.

Also, friendly reminder that the best performing markets in modern history have come under Democratic presidents. Reagan did well too, but all the other "pro business" Republicans have been disasters.
Remember next time some neo-con wants to argue that Republicans are good for the economy. It's demonstrably untrue.
Why there can't be full employment under capitalism?
Also why under socialism people where hidden unemployment? Why they didn't assigned people on shifts? (Like 4 shifts a day per 6 hours
Pic unrelated
There are 3 types of unemployment.
Structural:
A mismatch if available skills and desired skills for jobs
Example: There is only a demand for carpenters, but the only available labour is accountants
Frictional:
People moving between jobs
Example:
If somebody doesn't like their boss and they quit, the are unemployed until they find a new job
Cyclical:
Unemployment caused by the fluctuations in the economy
Example:
If there is a credit crunch like in 2008, businesses that rely on loans to expand their business and meet their payroll will have to cut workers or shut down
The only way to avoid unemployment is to force people to work
>>1605255
Pretty much this (nice explanation, btw).
Some level of unemployment is not only expected, but desirable. It's a sign of a healthy, mobile, growing, and evolving economy.

What are the best majors for someone like me who is good at spacial awareness/ mapping but slow at advanced math.
self bump
>>1604361
>good at spacial awareness/ mapping but slow at advanced math.
Land surveyor? I don't think its really a bachelors degree though other than civil engineering maybe. The three surveyors at my small civil engineering/surveying company don't have degrees. But if you can think in 3D, have good spacial awareness, and don't mind working outside in the field occasionally, it might be cool.
In the field, you find property corners, set construction stakes, or topo a project site. In the office, you create topo maps, parcel/subdivision maps, and other survey documents. The only math you really need is angles and triangles.
>good spatial awareness, mapping
literally GIS.
