I do this on Twitter with the fitness/motivation niche.
Have 6 accounts with a total of ~100k followers.
It makes some decent beer money.
I could probably make a lot more if I took it seriously but this is just a hobby for me.

It only takes like 4-5 months to hit the 20k follower mark from scratch.
Why not try it small scale first to see if you like it?

It depends, I don't pay attention to my accounts as much as I should so my payments vary widely.
At its peak I was doing a little over $150/week. Lately its been like $200/month.

There are people that make 6-7 figures with just affiliate marketing.
You just need to put the proper systems in place to make that possible.
I'm just too lazy to do that.
I tried to scale but the process gets really boring.
It's just a lot of repetition.

I use affiliate marketing programs (like clickbank, jvzoo, etc) and drop my own affiliate link in my tweets periodically.
Twitter does not allow direct affiliate links for non-verified accounts so I set up a WordPress blog with the "Pretty Link" plugin to mask the affiliate links.
While you can get away with a direct link, you could get banned if the post is reported.

Money is one of the most universal and leading causes of stress in people's lives, however many believe that if they only had more money they would also have happiness and would be relived of their anxiety, however this really isn't true. As far as these memes go they are usually made by young people and the whole "depression & anxiety" thing is a very popular trend/meme on social media. These pictures gain a lot of traction because they are funny and in these fast and confusing modern times everyone can relate to some degree of stress, anxiety, depression, and hollowness, these memes bring lighthearted humour to a common relatable feeling. As far as to why these feeling are so common today, well it could be attributed to a lot of things like stress from workload, relationships (tfw no gf), and fear/confusion of the future. I personally think a lot of people are becoming more empty and hollow now due to the big rise of escapism, modern relationships with family, friends, and lovers seem to also be more shakey and less genuine than ever before and people don't know why. Nowadays people don't have to confront their emotions like they used to, they turn to escapism in the form of media, video games, porn, Internet, television, drugs, and other hedonistic activities. Today's escapism makes for a more artificial and hollow experience which can lead many to despair. The huge flow of information and cognitive dissonance leads many to fear and anxiety.

Might wind up being somewhat difficult if you go the personal route.
The PRC are the ones that did the simplification, and although they didn't do it with all characters, it still would be difficult for most who grew up reading traditional (from Taiwan, HK). They should be able to get the gist, but that may not be enough for you.
