How do you guys find your meme stocks?
I'm probably going to throw some cash at some shitter NASDAQ stocks under 1$ next week.
Looking for some insight.
>>1638244
wise anon,
appears once or twice a year and gives stock tips. GXY and CNJ were the 2015 ones.
>>1638244
You should look for otc pump and dumps and short them on day 3 or 4 or whatever promotion is pumping them. Use a basic stock scanner and find stocks that are liquid (more than 100,000 volume traded) and trading between $.01 and $5 dollars that have gained more than 5 percent for the day.
Look for huge gains in an iceberg pattern and watch for sell off signals before shorting the stock and buying to cover right around half the price between the initial and pump price.
>>1638244
just buy all the FAS u can faggot .
Thank me later.
What's the best trade you've ever made, /biz ?
I bought 500 shares of 3par in spring 2010 just before a dell vs. HP bidding war. Bought in at $10 and sold out around $29.
Once had a neighbor who was retired at 35 or so. He told me he bought 10 grand of Monster Beverage at 30 cents per share. Don't know when he sold out but they're selling at $44 a share today after a number of splits.
>>1638214
bought the dip on morgan stanley last february at $21, and they're at 40$/share now. Too bad i only bought 37 shares.
>>1638214
Bought 25000 shares of AGS at .19 cents, it shot up to .44 and I sold.
>>1638214
I knew a couple guys at Twitch, and was given the opportunity to buy about 200k worth of the company way before the amazon deal was a glimmer in anyone's eye. By far the best equity/shares ive ever owned.
what do you call this trading pattern?
>>1638197
Looks like a piece of broken glass to me.
>>1638197
>Trying to find a pattern without candlesticks
What a meme.
>>1638197
Shawshank Guillotine
Okay /biz/, I need your help.
I'm in college now, and doing pretty well in classes.
I have been a friendless unapproachable autist for my entire life. While searching for jobs and internships lately, I have been hit with the realization that soft skills are more important than skills relevant to my field.
How can I quickly get better at doing chitchat and not sperging out? How can I con people into thinking that I am a normal person and giving me a job?
How do I prevent myself from a lifetime of burger flipping?
>>1638139
Take LSD and get to know yourself a bit better.
Go to a psychiatrist and get some happy pills from them
>>1638139
What happens when you "sperg out"? Do you just become quiet? Do you ramble about abstractions tangentially related to the subject at hand?
Are you the talky talky autist who doesn't realize saying "you're not as fat as you use to be" is not a compliment or the silent creepy autist who people judge because you "don't make the effort"?
You have ten seconds to explain to me how Bitcoin, Ethereum and all other memestocks promoted on /biz/ are not Pyramid schemes.
>>1638102
everything in investing is a pyramid scheme.
>>1638123
(You)
>>1638102
You don't know yet? It's all a pyramid scheme bro. The dollar, the shekel, even the fabric of the universe is being spread thin into oblivion. Ride the memes mane ayyyyyye lmao. Praise kek
Why is VOO shilled on here as the best index when QQQ outperforms it?
VOO is kinda safer.
>best
>index
Diversify you retard. No index is better than another. That's why diversification exists.
>>1638098

It's the same reason why only certain cars are shilled on /o/: anime.

>James Stocklas and his friends — Barry Bartakovits of Hellertown and a Pennsylvania woman who Stocklas didn't identify — immediately decided to put their winnings to use when they learned of their good fortune: They rented a private jet to go back to Florida to claim their money. At $3,000 an hour, the jet cost around $20,000, Stocklas told The Morning Call, and the three sipped champagne onboard
holy shit, do people immediately become retards when they win the lottery? better get right on fucking wasting that windfall
What does /biz/ think about Russia?
Lately I have been looking at Russian ETFs -- mainly RSX -- because Russia seems promising given a Trump presidency.
We all know that Trump wants to be friendly with Russia, and that he is likely to end at least sanctions which Obama placed via executive order.
This will help the country overall and the major companies, mostly energy and banking, which these ETFs hold stakes in.
The other big factor would be the price of energy(oil/gas) and various resources such as nickel, which we can't really predict, but I can't imagine oil plummeting as it did previously.
As for the ETF I mentioned, you can find it here:
https://www.vaneck.com/etf/equity/rsx/overview/
>>1638093
Traitor
there is no way trump and putin will be friendly. one of them would have to submit to the other. neither will ever do that. another factor is putin using the united states as an enemy for russia to rally against. he doesnt want a good relationship
>>1638127
1. Neither of them have to give everything to gain something
2. They can start with Syria, where Putin has interests and Trump doesn't care/would seemingly go along with Putin in order to keep Assad
If a country has no comparative advantage, do they have to become Protectionist?
And does this mean that if a country that does have a comparative advantage, like say the USA, goes Protectionist, this is actually a bad thing?
>>1638086
There are no countries with no comparative advantage
>>1638086
You have absolutely no idea how comparitive advantage works or what it means. 'No comparitive advantage' is mathematically impossible.
I'll give you a nugget to begin to work from comparitive advantage is created by having the lowest opportunity cost in creating a certain product.
>>1638086
If a country has no competitive advantage, the market will devalue its currency until it gains one.
Protectinism is a bad thing because it gives consumers (and businesses) the disadvantages of a lower currency, without giving exporting businesses the advantage of a lower currency.
shkreli is officially based.
I've become a fan of Shrkeli
>>1638079

>>1638079

>New Amazon sellers selling a product for ~1/3 the price of the Prime/recommended version with free shipping
Is this a scam or are these sellers just trying to get feedback? I've seen this a few times now, even on pricier items.
>>1638059
Where the frikkin fakk should we know?possibly what u guessed
>>1638068

>>1638007
maybe, I'd have to do some research first.
I'd do just about anything for a million bucks.
Are Vanguard index funds a meme? Are index funds in general a meme?
>>1637955
no.
because u had to even ask that question i would say ETF's are suitable for someone like u
>>1637955
What does meme even mean at this point?
>>1637955
>Are Vanguard index funds a meme? Are index funds in general a meme?
You're buying the market for a 0.1% fee
Mathematically less than 50% of people can "beat the market" over the long term, so Vanguard is good if you're content with an average return
