How many languages do you know other than English and Spanish? I don't know much about the translator business. You could probably teach English in Honduras or something.

I don't think you're allowed by law to get indebted while under 18, so you should call them about that. If anything, that debt should be on your father.

So walk me through this:

The stock price of a company is the price of one unit of stock. You buy one unit of stock in a company and then the price goes up or down.

For most companies, the price only floats above $10 on a good week.

So why invest when the profit you gain is so meagre?

This is what I understand of investing right now and it's confusing me a little.

Is investing exclusively long-term, as some companies can rise to the hundreds in price over years (I'm looking at Yahoo right now, which fell to a low of 5.93 in 2001 after a peak of 108 in Dec 1999)?

Say you buy one share of stock at $10. It goes up a dollar, so it's worth $11. If you sell it at that price then you made a 10% profit (minus taxes and fees, but we're ignoring that for the example.)
Doesn't seem like a lot of money does it? That's true, it's not. But 10% of a larger sum can be a lot.
What if you owned 1000 shares and the price went up a dollar? Well, that's a 1000 dollar profit if you were to sell at $11 per share. Now we're getting somewhere.
But what if you owned 100,000 shares and the price goes up by a dollar? For you that's a $100,000 increase. That's an annual middle class income and you got it for doing almost nothing. Crazy, huh?

you remind me a lot of some guy I know. I was explaining how I was going to be buying and leasing a very small apartment, but would get a decent return on investment. His thinking is "why would you spend $80k to just make $4-500 after tax?? its barely anything..."

if you expect to just triple your money in 1 month, go into a casino and do it that way. You forget all the many months you sit around and do nothing, your money could be earning for you, with little actual effort on your part.

you just sound like youre impatient
>>
>>1686494
You need a lot of money to throw around. If you have $100000, then you can look at $100 shares. If you have $10000, look at $10 shares. If you have $1000, look at penny stocks.

t. experience. I've made good calls with stocks -- bought Tesla at $200, sold at $250 -- bought a truckload of stocks after the mini-crash in January, but I'm buying stocks I can't afford, per se. EG I bought 4 stocks of Tesla at $200. Held em for a year and sold at $250. So $800 became $1000. Minus $10 in commissions is a tidy $190 profit, but that was a very good call and $190 for that % rise is very modest. I just don't have a ton of cash to play with, so I should've never looked at Tesla.

I'm doing modest research into $10 stocks as well as penny stocks now.

That ship has sailed awhile ago. I would start focusing on Trump counter culture. Look at the Reagan and Bush years for inspiration. Your audience will be liberal, particularly young liberals, who are reevaluating political correctness and social justice, but will still be socially liberal and anti-trump. There is going to be a significant fear of reactionaries throughout Trump's time in office and there will also be another Russian-scare similar to the cold war, sparked by moderate Republicans and Democrats leveraging a congressional investigation against him. You can be sure it will happen, because the intelligence agencies will never allow a slow realignment with Russia against China without a fight. The Russian scare is something, similar to gamergate, that you could jump start a youtube channel with, for example.

Just tell me... tell me how much you made off fools like me.

How much did /biz/ collectively lose to your evil ways.

Hi /biz/

I'm a reference for my friend who is being interviewed for a job which specifically asked for a friend as a reference along with professional contacts. I have to complete a form where I rate 18 aspects of his personality on a scale of 1-10. For over half of them I gave him a 10, I just want to know before I turn it in how that looks to an employer. Would you not take it seriously if I gave him great reviews for everything because I'm his friend and of course I'm going to want to make him look good? My scores for him are how I actually feel and I'm not going to artificially give him lower scores to make it seem more realistic, I'm just curious how it will be taken if I didn't give him anything lower than an 8 in any of the personality traits.

I'm going through a rough point in my life, and I could use some advice.

I'm 20 and I'm in/maybe was in college. Without sugar coating or making excuses, I was a bad student.

I just received an e-mail about academic dismissal. At this point I guess I am leaving my college. It's unfortunate because my grades just started getting turned around and I recently ended up going the route of business and economics.

As of now, I am leaving my college. I'm not quite sure what to do. I don't know whether to find a management job or another job that pushes me forward, join the peace Corps/AmeriCorps, stay home and go to community college, travel to a city somewhere else and go to community college, apply to a better college, or by some miracle somehow stay at my shitty university.

There is a lot I can do, and I know I have the skills it takes to be successful.

My resume is at least somewhat decent.

>Winery: concert coordination, sales, shipping and boxing, one of the most profitable employees
>managed american red cross event
>improved incentives program for corporate store
>maintenance, event coordination, and guest needs at hotel
>marketing for entertainment board at university as well as budgeting
>barista
>environmental conservation

Honestly I'm just looking for some advice, I could really use it right now. I feel like I have all the tools it takes to be succesful, except for the paper saying I graduated. On a positive note, I was thinking about leaving my university anyways. The only thing keeping me was my friends there and disappointing everybody I know and care about.

Assuming you're an American, calm the fuck down. University doesn't define you, it's not a big fucking deal. It's becoming a meme because the cost anyway.

If you want to go to college just go to CC and transfer.

Do what you fucking want.

I always thought I was going to be some schmuck working at a warehouse and live a life of solidarity. Pretty much achieved that. Realized it's boring as fuck and want to do more.

You're going to have to decide what you want to do. As usual, OP is a faggot.

If you have the money to do so it is ok.

If you do not have the money to do so then it is not ok.

Why the fuck did you need me to tell you this, you retard?
>>
>>1686273
Depends on your income.

But overall you don't really need so much clothes. What do you do with your old ones? Do you just keep buying more and more clothes?
>>
Clothes last longer than a month.
A full (and decent looking) wardrobe can be had for about $500 if you know where to look for sales.
Money that isn't spent can be invested.

if you're referring to WoW there is still money to be made, although you wanna probably run a bot or something since gold sells for ~$2.5 for every 10,000. best bet is to capitalise off items and various consumables that are released after a patch, get in quick otherwise the market crashes within a few days

i know people that were making 8-10k a month around the end of a pvp season from selling pilots and various carries (mind you, you'll only achieve this sort of income near the end of a season and will make drastically less outside of those times). also you have to be really good at the game, like glad / s1 exp across multiple classes, ect

or you could stream games on twitch all day, but you'll have to be a girl for that, and probably be semi attractive too
>>
>>1686150
Is it still possible? Yes
By yourself? No

You simply can't compete with the Chinese companies that have their employees working long hours on slave labor wages. Most of them have 24/7 live chat customer support and can deliver within 10-20 minutes from time of purchase. It would take way too much effort and getting too many people involved.
