If you can't code it depends on the complexity of your idea... Is it something that has never been done before? Could you write up a software requirements specification (SRS) or a Software Design Description (SDD)?

As far as I know it also takes your assets into account. (In their eyes) someone with a bunch of money isn't in much financial need.

If your company gives you less than a 3% raise per year, you should quit immediately, as you aren't keeping up with inflation.
