I know this is a longshot, but anyone here live and work in the UAE?
If so, how did you manage to get the job?
Or if you own your own company, are you looking for employees?
Shokran habibi.

Also interested in this. Any expats in the UAE? Particularly if your place of employment is paying your up front living costs.
im not arab but i lived there 20 years because of parents. long story short none of my parents ever studied, and the only reason they got hired is because they had 0 expectations back then of employees. Now everything has a "western touch" to it, if you want to work in a large and respectable corporation that will fund you a nice livestyle you need serious qualifications, its very competitive (in dubai at least).
They prefer arabs these days over everybody, where they hire even the biggest idiots into senior management just because they wanna keep up the arab "heritage".
in most corporations they have assessment centers and all other types of HR bullshit so only if youre the biggest asslicker with the nicest degrees you get hired.
Sure you can have a nice lifestyle if you work hard but this dream of working there for a couple of years and becoming "rich" is ended like 10 years ago. My dads company payed for my private school, free airplane tickets, and lots of other perks like retirement savings. The company nearly killed my dad though with overworking and thats the reason he later fucked off back to europe, where you can have a balanced life.

I just applied for job based in Dubai and they finally got back to me saying the salary was 10,000 AED a month, which is around $2,700.
Not even a slave can live off that in the UAE. The only way I can see it working is if you live in your car or live in Sharja.
Is £500 enough to start investing in stocks and shares?
>>1702287
No, implying you get an 8% rentability as income selling or with shares, you have to pay taxes and trader comisions. Anyway you can invest those 500$ on investing as a first contact with the real stock market. Put an smart stop loss and analyze your fails. You will not waste too much money, maybe 50 or 60 bucks, but you will have learnt a valuable lesson.
>>1702287
It could be if you're mainly planning on dripfeeding one or more funds as a regular investment by direct debit. That seems to be the way to minimise platform and transaction fees. Buying individual stocks usually attracts the kind of fees that makes anything less than a lump sum of a couple of thousand uneconomic.
yep...
use a free trader like vangurd.
I've come to realize that the freedom money provides is actually an impossible deed. The less you have the more dependent you are of the sistem, but as you start to earn more and more you develop a dependency on yourself to not lose it. Government, companies ,people and taxes will suck you dry,and if you are able to prevent it,you'll find yourself 80% of your days thinking of how to retain/expand your wealth. Am I wrong? If not,is there a solution to this mundane but essential life problem? Pls help
mo money, mo problems
Unless you're willing to go full hermit mode, you'll never truly be free.
But even if you're a hermit, you'll find that not having access to police, hospitals, clean water and survival skills will put you up shit creek with no paddle.
And you'll have no social life either.
>>1702230
What about the problems of keeping that money from being stolen as I said
>>1702240
>problems of keeping that money from being stolen
If you truly have any large sum of wealth there are ways to shield yourself from financial rape. Worry about how to keep the money after you've made the money.
Do I need to put anything about bitcoin or trumpcoin when I'm filing my tax return?
I probably made about $400 from buying Trumps with BTC this year. I also have an ether miner running for the past 6 months.
Does any of this need to be told to my accountant this month?
>>1702160
Yes. Treat the traded bitcoins as stock, and treat the mined bitcoins as income at fair market value at the time they were mined.
>>1702172
I don't have any bitcoin currently. I cashed out on trumps election day. With Ether I make around 40 bucks a month all using coinbase btw. Is it really necessary to report that? And how much more money will I get back in taxes by reporting them?
>>1702182
you dont need to report 40$ a month desu
How do I make money with zero effort?
Help me /biz/, you're my only hope.
camwhoring, of course
>zero effort?
why, though. do something, sell something to other people, be proud of helping them and be proud of your effort. sometimes people suck, most of the time they will help you.
>zero effort
I hope you maxed out on luck.
>>1702029
>With zero effort
Try spreading your asshole at the gloryhole instead of using your mouth.
Its literally impossible to buy bitcoin instantly. No matter what I try to verify on coinbase it always ALWAYS gives me some type of error and doesnt let me. Coinmama is slow as fuck and then says it isnt available in my area (The state of Georgia). Circle doesnt let you buy bitcoin anymore. Bitpanda is only available in Europe even though I read that it has support for the US. Jesus christ fucking shit goddamn shits retarded. Is there any goddamn way to possibly buy bitcoin in a quick amount of time?
>>1701934
dunno dude the atm was pretty fucking fast last time i tried.
localbitcoins.
the same way its hard to get money in, its also hard to get money out, so the crash will be softened
>>1702030
>its also hard to get money out

Why does he refuse to split class A?
>>1701907
Who gives a shit? Worrying about what rich people do is like worrying about the weather. You can't control it so why worry about it?
No poors allowed

>"I want to be self employed and be my own boss!"
>spends the rest of his life slaving away for clients who dictate to him what needs to be done and by when
>>1701706
But at least he's not working for "da man"(an established company) where you work maybe 4-5 hours of the day at most and have health insurance and stock options.
No you idiots
he gets the privilege of paying BOTH sides of FICA and has to fuck around with quarterly witholding submittals and deal with a way more expensive 401k with no access to institutional funds!
How would you not want that?
Bottom line, the only truly patrician way to live is to inherit land and live off that. Everyone else are just plebs trying to convince each other they aren't plebs
Has anyone here ever used margin trading on poloniex? What was your experience? Is it worth it?
>>1701668
no, only on bitfinex, shorted the dip of early 2015
Poloniex is good for non-margin trades.. but TTrex and Bitmex is my favorite for margin
>>1701668
Was making a killing shorting ETH with leverage.
Until whales decided to hunt liquidations of shorters and got rekt. Would have ended up with profit if hadn't used so much leverage.
ITT: Businesses which won't exist by the end of 2017
Yeah, sure. Intel is going to wreck AMD.
>>1701631
The only reason AMD still exists is to prevent Intel and NVIDIA from being the *only* companies in their respective fields and thus getting rattled by anti-monopoly laws
>>1701653
Here's your (You).
When this goes down in history as the greatest DIP of all time what will you tell your grandkids when they ask you about it?
Will you tell them you bought it?
>>1701597
I started buying at about 450,fuck wish i bought more though.
I was going to buy a little every week and use dollar cost averaging but everytime the price spiked up i hesitated buying some and waited a few days/weeks trying to buy the dips,i think from now on i will just buy some every week regardless of the price,im getting to the point where i would rather have bitcoin than fiat
>nocoiner here
Is it too late to buy in? Feels like I may have missed my chance
I want to buy but I bet the moment I do it plummets all the way to $50 per coin
>he uses physical money instead of bitcoins
YOU CAN'T MAKE THIS SHIT UP
>he thinks you need a central banks.. How bluepilled and poor is he?

>>1701582

I'm a 26 year old STEM guy and since my education is close to finished i will be making Money soon.
I'm looking into investing methods and im wondering the following things about stocks:
How hard is it to get enough knowledge to Profit from stock related investing
How much luck is involved
Is it worth it?
I know absolutly nothing about the topic, i dont mind investing some time.
Thanks for any advice
>>1701487
>How hard is it to get enough knowledge to Profit from stock related investing
very hard you have to train 30 years in a jedi temple first
>How much luck is involved
well to be chosen you have to be lucky
>Is it worth it?
no that's why nobody ever does it
>>1701490
To make it more clear:
It's obviously worth it if youre a trained professional, my question is, if it's feasible in a readonable amount of time for someone who has to start from scratch.
>>1701487
>How hard is it to get enough knowledge to Profit from stock related investing
Knowledge? ~6months
Skill? 3-6 years
>How much luck is involved
Varies, but will always be non-zero
>Is it worth it?
The returns are % based. Do the math STEM guy.
How do you guys store your bitcoin? They are in my vault on coinbase right now but I don't really want to be at the mercy of coinbase anymore, I know I can back up my wallet with random english words for example but this would still mean that my bitcoin is at coinbase. Do you guys use dedicated hardware for storing bitcoin?
You could just download a wallet like Electrum and store your BTC that way.
>>1701471
>They are in my vault on coinbase
i giggled vault huh?
>>1701483
come up with a more constructive comment please, elaborate
Is technical analysis a meme? Especially in forex. I consider it a meme, in contrast to technical analysis in equity like predicting future cash flows, which seems more plausible to me.
>>1701315
I don't do any technical at all. It's just added unnecessary noise. For me anyway.
>>1701318
So how would you make an investment decision? Based on more macro events?
>>1701315
TA is certainly not a meme, especially short term views.
Forex ESPECIALLY follows TA
