Under Obama, banks weren't willing to hold money from them because technically speaking, if a Bank of America stores money from a weed shop in Colorado, they're technically profiting off of weed in states that it isn't legal in, like in Mississippi. With Jeff Sessions as AG, expect weed to not fare well. I don't think it'll get shut down, but don't expect it to expand.

Canada might be promising though, Trudeau seems to be making a big deal out of weed from what I've heard. I'm a nocoiner but you're much better off going into BTC rather than weed stocks at this point.

well it's the price anon. a stock with low dividends will be less prohibitively priced in a bull market.

there is a very short time-frame amidst great market anxiety where you can actually buy dividend stocks at reasonable price. because every fucking body want's them and competes over them.

However, Exxom is still an oil company, and its stock moves in a highly correlated way with oil prices. That won't change as long as they're in the oil business.

I was just planning on holding it for a little bit, perhaps 4-5 months, and then making a decision on what to do once we start seeing the influence of oil prices. Exxon seems to be well positioned in the event of a low oil price environment though, they have a lot of business in chemicals and refining, more so than other energy giants (to my knowledge).

I took three years of accounting in hopes of starting a business.

I've managed a bunch of companies and started a couple of my own. Still haven't used any of that accounting education though. They have this cool new thing called accounting software. Even that's overkill for most businesses.
