TL:DR: Door to door sales tips
Aight /biz/, sup?
So I'm about to start going door to door to start a business I've finally got going, and I'm basically asking for tips.
Unfortunately I haven't got tits, I think I can talk well (I've held a sales job for quite some time now with a good track record), but I know for a fact going door to door is different than assisting someone buy something they came in for.
I can imagine it will go something like this:
>knock.jpg
>"Hey sir/maam, have you got just one minute to spare, I promise you it could change your life"
>akward silence
>"get the fuck off my doorstop faggot"
>>1713706
take a lesson from the Mormons and JW's.
don't make outlandish promises. Just ask if they have time to chat about a business or whatever.
nobody will. Except really old people with no friends and no money. But that's what you get for trying to sell door-to-door.
also it's probably not going to be awkward. People don't usually answer the door for faggots they don't know on their doorstep.
>>1713717
Yeah not usually, but the majority of the time someone knocks on my door to sell me something, they just cant sell for shit.
A guy was going door to door the other day in my apartment block and was using this exact line:
>"Excuse me sir, I uhh am just letting you know that this Wash Pad Pro is now on sale and it will make your entire house clean"
>...
>"It only costs $16.99"
Like wtf? I don't blame you for hating them, its almost as annoying as Jehovahs Witnesses.
Can I ask you though, have you ever had door to door experience? If so what was it like?
>>1713728
I was raised as a JW. I started going door to door when I was about 6. I stopped when I was 17.
There is no comfortable way to intrude on complete strangers in their own homes. You know they resent you and they know you know it and are there being a dick anyways.
which means they are automatically inclined not to listen to you from the very start. You might be able to use curiosity or sympathy to string people along for a while, but as soon as you get down to what you're selling they're going to remember you came to their door trying to take advantage of them, and they're going to politely tell you to fuck off. As well they should. You don't go to people's houses and be a slimy dickhole and expect them to thank you for it. Whatever you're selling isn't that cool.

Dont touch penny stocks, invest in S&P500 companies

I just wanted to dip my feet and learn the basics about investing with penny stocks. What are the best sites?
>>1713651
Penny stocks aren't for beginners you fuckwad, they will lose you money even if you're """preacticing"""
If you want to practice, go gambling or do your research
Penny stocks are comprable in no way, shape, or form to actual trading. They operate differently.
Seeing as you came here without figuring that out with google, I say save the money; you clearly aren't meant to invest
What is up with the lack of whistle blowers and snitches in business?
Let's take the companies Google, Amazon and Facebook as examples.
Google and Facebook are obviously mining and selling their users' personal data and Amazon is using monopoly price tactics to drive out competition. There must be some people in the company who know all about this, if no one else then the people who are doing the programming must know about it, data mining and selling data in Facebook and Google's case, I'm sure that Mark, Larry, Eric and Sergey don't do much programming at their companies anymore if at all. And the people looking at the competitions' products' prices and setting Amazon's products' prices lower than theirs in Amazon's case.
What is stopping those people from snitching? High salaries? What would a programmer or someone who knows what's going on be making in such cases? Those people can blackmail the owners, and if the owner doesn't comply they can snitch and if he fires them they will surely snitch. What should the people in charge do in such cases?
All this reminds me of the movie The Insider, even though the tobacco industry threatens the man with death in it, he still blows the whistle. What's stopping that from happening now?
They kill people who speak out.

It's easy to keep your mouth shut when you're living like a king and your company's culture convinces you everything is okay.
That Snowden guy was living in Hawaii earning over $200k a year for an easy job working from home on his computer.
If I was Snowden I prob would have kept my mouth shut. Like people don't already know the government spies on fucking everything.
>>1713451
I thought everything you pointed out was public knowledge already?
I've just discovered I've been removed from my business' bank account by my partner. Actually, the truth is I let him establish the account while I handled other things in the formative days of the business, and have now found out I was never placed as a signer on the account.
All the money I had in the world is now in an account I have no access to.
Naturally, I am livid. I have not yet confronted my partner (deciding to do so in a calmer state) and my question today is how /biz thinks I should approach the confrontation.
Do I fly out the box with 'Why am I not a fucking signer on the business account' or dance around it a little with 'Have I ever given you reason not to trust me?'
Im just unsure. My partner is very good at dissembling and placating (good qualities when on the same side) and I just needed to ask someone else's advice.
>mfw with the banker
Just ask him to wire you your money, and proceed to cut ties with him.
If he declines, threaten a lawsuit. If he continues to decline, beat the shit out of him.
>>1713408
bite his dick off
>>1713408
If you've NEVER been a signer, maybe he never got around to it. I assume it hasn't been an issue before now. Mention that you noticed it and would like access to business funds in a matter-of-fact way.
His response to that request determines whether or not you get to fly off the rails.
>tfw you spent THOUSANDS of hours on 4chan when this time could have been better spent doing something productive
Heres a /biz/ness idea for you folks. Find a way where chronic procrastinators like me can get all this lost time back and this time put it to good use.
>inb4 time travel
Go ahead /biz/. Apply yourselves. I believe in thee.
spend all of your time making /biz/ rich instead
>>1713353
If you haven't learnt anything in all your time on 4chan you have either not been reading or have been on /b/, I have learnt tons of stuff from 4chan.

just take your supplements and live longer. bam theres your time back
What's a good amount to start trading at? do you need to save up a large amount and then go in, or is it best to just start even with something like 1k. Complete pleb here.
>>1713310
If you have less then $25,000,000, just give up now.
>>1713310
1k is fine, you won't make enough to live off of. 5k gets you into futures trading and if you have like a year of experience making money that will make you rich because of the 1-50x leverage.
25k get's you into normal day trading range. that can make you lots of money too

What University you at?
Kindly provide more detailed information.
So I've been hearing for a while that the market is going to crash soon... I have ~40k in a mutual fund (I was planning to move it to an index fund soon, but now I'm worried)
Do you guys believe this? Should I withdraw from the fund and just hold on and re-invest in an index after the crash, or is all of this crash talk just fearmongering and anti-trump hysteria?
>>1713264
m8 it depends on how old you are imo
just wait it out

I'm 19, graduating college in 2 years probably. I don't want to graduate and have measly savings when they could continue to grow.
diversify into developing markets and bonds if your worried about the US
Hi guys, I just bought few stocks over plus500 I even earned few bucks but they took something they call overnight fee for holding position?
I had 150$ worth of stocks, I earned 5$ but they took me 25c. I know it doesn't sound like a lot but 0,25c x 365 days is 91,25$.
91$ per year is almost as big as my "investment". Am I doing something wrong? Is there a site with less or no fees? (Robinhood is not available in my country).
Thx in advance.
>>1713229
You didn't "buy" the stocks and you will not be paid any dividends. You borrowed money on leverage to trade on the price movement of the stock.
> I know it doesn't sound like a lot but 0,25c x 365 days is 91,25$. 91$ per year is almost as big as my "investment".
Its a risk to the broker letting you borrow money to let you trade, so thats the interest you pay to hold these leveraged positions open everyday.
These kinds of trades are meant to be done in the short term. For long term trades you really should find a proper broker.
>>1713229
Loyal3.com is what I use. No fees.
I dont know if its available outside the US though
>>1713248
So there was never a trade at the first place? I'm bascily betting (like paddypower, william hill etc.) that a stock will rise or fall that day?
I am a recent STEM graduate. Most jobs I come across are asking for 3-5 years of experience. Should I still apply to them?
>>1713221
>Should I still apply to them?
You should ask /r9k/ about that
>>1713221
Of course.
How do you get a personal loan if you get paid under the table?
get it from people who give them under the table
Make a bank account and start shoving money in it every month? Better than having no history at all.
>>1713176
What if they stipulate that a personal loan requires proof of income?
I have 5k in the bank, but still according to their own rules can't take a loan because le proof of income meme.
It's beautiful
What is the name of the software you are using?

robinhood. it's a phone app
My dad says there are companies that essentially buy off your student loan debt from the company that you are indebted to and then offer them back to you but at a reduced interest rate.
It sounds too good to be true. What's the catch?
How would I go about doing this when I have like 5 separate private loans (due to extenuating circumstances - they amount to around $20,000 in total) that I would like to consolidate? Should I get one of these companies to "buy off" my loans first AND THEN consolidate or vice versa?
>>1713061
When a company "buys" youre loan, its not doing you a favor. Its so they can harrass you for money
>>1713091
