Don't spend anything.
Read like 100 quarterly financial reports a day and keep copious notes.

Don't bother cooking for yourself or doing your own laundry, wife some bitch and let her or her friend do that for you.

Live like a spartan or a monk and invest your savings in highly profitable incumbents in industries which are virtually impossible to disrupt.

Let simmer for 60 years like >>1738647 said.
Take your BuffeTT Buffet out of the pot and serve.

Hello, newfag here. My daughter (minor in the US) got a few thousand dollars this christmas.

I would like to create a trading account for her and have her invest in something like google or apple and leave the money there till she goes off to college. Does this make sense and what would be the proper way to do this? Can I just go to Fidelity and create an account for her? What are the tax implications?

fucking gay retard tying your daughters college fund to the fate of a couple of shitty companies run by kikes on the west coast
>>
I believe trade king has pretty minimal fees if you're just looking for an online trading platform. You get taxed the same way you would as someone who is self employed (think 1099) on investments. I'd suggest investing in mutual funds or index funds rather than single stocks if you're just doing a "watch it grow" approach.
>>
>>1738243
Just invest it in an ETF if you're going to be boring old dad.

Hi /biz/ I was just wondering something about the stock market. Couldn't it be possible to never lose money with a stock? Like just wait until it goes back up. I understand some businesses may go bankrupt and some don't have enough volume. But with big company's like apple couldn't you just wait until its positive?

Maybe that takes 3 years. Maybe 13.
If you get in at the peak (all stocks have them) it might never get back there.

btc is bullish right now.

It's very safe to buy and WAIT until it reaches the all time high level to start thinking in selling it.

You're gonna lose money when you're not patient and react to every "up and down" movement. Don't be impulsive when trading bitcoin.

What type of business could give a hard-working individual a small fortune? I'm looking for a kind of 'rise up by the boot-straps' kind of rags-to-riches opportunity. Think of the periods of history in which the merchant class would thrive greatly, and people could make small fortunes by simply moving spice. One parallel that comes to mind is the finance industry, but it seems that finance is uber competitive and difficult to get into. I heard that many industrialists are taking advantage of African lands under local conflict, taking its natural resources. Thoughts? Concerns? Discuss.

What the fuck do I major in?

I hate math, I'm absolutely awful at it. I failed the lowest level math class last quarter, algebra and functions. I want my career to have absolutely nothing to do with math, but I don't have any idea what I want to do. I enjoy history, philosophy/debate, film, graphic design, cars, games, architecture, and geography. Does anyone have any suggestions based on these interests? My mom says I should become a lawyer but I don't like the idea of being in school for 8 years.

I just feel so directionless and I'm afraid if I don't find what I want to do with my life I'll end up dropping out. I want to end up making good money but what matters most is that I enjoy my job. What do I do?

Sorry if this is annoying or the wrong place to post it but I feel like the people on this board are reasonably educated and /adv/ wasn't very helpful.

Newfag here

I got $4,000 cash gifted to me. I've got no experience trading or anything of the sort. So I ask you, /biz/, what would be the best thing to for me to do with four grand to potentially get the most return from it? I'm a complete novice but I want to be dedicated to this, and so I just need some guidance in the right direction.

right now its a weird time to invest, with no skill i suggest putting it in some mid yield bond mutual fund something like a 60% bond, 40 value based stock.

if you wanna go a little crazier ask for either high yeilding bonds or very high growth stock funds.

B-B-But muh
>mgmt fees!!

you pay experts to do experts work, sorry.

after that, don't touch it, seriously don't touch it for a year, if you NEED, and i mean NEED like rents due, or the mobs at my door, take out only 40% of what you earned.

Bro, get in slowly don't put all your money unless you are going long term gains with etf. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCE DO YOU START CHASING MEMES, leave that to the gamblers they already know a few things but most are losers. Start asking yourself question of what you want with your money for example, "Am i going long term?", "Do i feel like losing it all gamblin-i mean day trading?", "What are my options for learning?"

Nintendo. Let's talk about it.

The company revealed the Switch last week in a long underwhelming conference that generated more enthusiasm for upcoming games than any of the actual hardware.

What we know about the Switch at this point:
- It is a replacement for the WiiU and will potentially replace the 3DS.
- It introduces paid online.
- It has a weak launch lineup with its biggest title being a ported WiiU title that launches on the same day as the WiiU counterpart.
- It's $299.99 plus accessories and games.

Some info on Nintendo's position:
- The 3DS sold 56 million units.
- The WiiU sold 13 million units.
- NTDOY shares fell 5.75 per cent when the Switch was unveiled.
- Sales growth was down by 8.24 per cent between 2015-2016.
- Gross income was up 2.86 per cent between 2015-2016.

What do you predict? Does the Switch bring the company back to sales success or are we looking at a continuing long term contraction for the Japanese giant?

We got a new Mario sandbox game, we haven't had one in such a long time. Looks very promising. In addition they are expanding on Splatoon which is really popular in Japan. The only problem is that the number of launch titles were disappointing.
Port smash, and make melee HD, and you got a large fanbase ready to drop their wad of cash.

I'm really not sure where this will go. They're obviously trying to marry their handheld market with their home console market. That's an idea I like in principle, but the Switch's success hinges on few if any bugs upon release, respectable battery life, and a good line up of games available at launch. Maybe I've just grown up since high school, but I haven't bought any console or console game since the Gamecube came out. I'm just not interested; literally nothing has grabbed my attention.

Is it true that 90% of all traders lose money? And why, can't they just buy and sell trend breakouts?

No, the actual quote is 90% of daytraders underperform the s&p 500, which is factually correct.

I had an idea about trading forex

It seems stupid to just trade from one thing to another

Do forex traders frequently make trades from one currency to another that has a better exchange rate with the one they really want?

Is there ever a situation where making multiple trades like this makes sense?
>>
>>1737789

Yes, because in order to gain someone has to lose. There is no win win.
