What the fuck are all of these "serial entrepreneurs" on Instagram ACTUALLY doing?
These guys have millions in exotic cars, travel all over the country but never post anything related to their business. The only hint of where all this money comes from is that they say they are "entrepreneurs"
Most of them are apparently dropouts who never even went to college.
Why are they so secretive about their businesses?
> pic related owns several million in cars, recently purchased a Lamborghini Aventador SV ($530,000) and goes to car meets. Never says anything about his business other than posting motivational things to Instagram.
I did some more digging and apparently this guy made his millions off an app.
I'm guessing his success falls into the realm of lottery winners at this point? He certainly doesn't program himself, so I'm guessing he just got an "idea" and marketed the shit out of something

How do you motivate yourself to do stuff?
How do you ignore society telling you you've got to read that book, or act that way, or do whatever or else you're a pleb?
How do you pass job interviews when all the interviewers are normie candidates being interviewed by their normie clones?
>>1742993
>How do you motivate yourself to do stuff?
I put it into my phone calendar. Stuff from my calendar gets done.
>How do you ignore society telling you you've got to read that book, or act that way, or do whatever or else you're a pleb?
I'm too old to care about that. I remember caring about not looking poor back when I was actually poor. I guess my advice is don't be poor.
>How do you pass job interviews when all the interviewers are normie candidates being interviewed by their normie clones?
Haven't been on an interview for a long time, I'm pretty much fucked if I ever need to look for another job.
Mostly anger. I get a lot of shit done when I am spring cleaning, which is infuriating. I spend half the time destroying objects I cannot believe I own.
I then re-evaluate my life and often have surprisingly clear and decisive thoughts on what I should do, which guide me for months afterwards.
Then I lose motivation and start building a cocoon again, and the cycle repeats.
To stimulate cleansing anger, I recommend spicy food.
>>1742993
>How do you motivate yourself to do stuff?
Amphetamines and the crippling fear of being poor like I was in my childhood
>How do you ignore society telling you you've got to read that book, or act that way, or do whatever or else you're a pleb?
Because fighting it will only make your life more difficult. Adults just do things because they have to, and they don't refuse to just because they don't like it.
>How do you pass job interviews when all the interviewers are normie candidates being interviewed by their normie clones?
I maintain steady eye contact, laugh at their jokes, occasionally take notes, and ask responsive questions.
STEM or trade???
HELP ME /biz/, I'm 18, I have 2k in my savings account but I'm unemployed, odds are if I go for that STEM degree I'll drown myself in debt, but would it pay off? My mum says STEM and my dad says trade... who's advice do I take??? This shit is driving me fucking insane I REALLY don't want to make a mistake...
>>1742963
suck a dick whenever you doubt, for $ that is
You'll always make mistakes along the way, that's called 'life'.
Don't let your parents decide for you, both are ok choices, pick the one you're more comfortable with. STEM has probably more stability long term.
If I were you I would STEM and trade in your free time.
t. STEM bach.
>>1742963
They would both pay off, it's a matter of what you want to do.
Did you get good grades in school, especially in math and science? If you think you can handle four years of college level math then as long as long as you go to a relatively cheap school, then you'll be able to repay your loans no prob.
The trades route is legit as well, especially if you don't want to do 4 years of schiik. I'm an engineer in construction, and there are plenty of tradesmen that make more than me, but they work 12 to 14 hour days in rain and snow while I sit in the office crunching numbers on spread sheets.
Whichever one you choose, just remember you're gonna have to move around to where there's a demand for you. I have some friends that went to school for trades and STEM but never ended up working their degree because they didn't want to leave their Podunk town.
Hey /biz/
Currently, I work part time as a cashier while doing my degree.
I let myself be commanded around my the bosses. Also:
>Have worked too many Saturdays than supposed to
>Worked too many hours than supposed to
Essentially I'm a little bitch. I read Dale Carnegies book "How To Win Friends And Influence People" which made me too helpful for everyone.
How do I stop being taken advantage of and get respected at my workplace?
>>1742921
Stop being 15 is a good start
>>1742923
I've been treated by my parents as a 15 year old most of my life. Where do I start?
>>1742931
By growing up and acting like an adult. Then you won't be treated like a teenager.
Stock market predictions for Friday?
>>1742748
Most gains seem priced in for minor things like repealing Dodd-Frank and the potential stimulus. Expect Trump to focus on the issues that distinguished him from the rest of the field and invest accordingly.
I'm just buying and holding defense and bank stocks with tobacco stocks as a hedge.
Trumpcoin $7
Oil and such up.
Greens and such down.
Will go back quickly enough.
Bonds down.

You have no idea of how the Internet works
How do developers sell their apps for millions of dollars? wtf?
>>1742695
By creating products people actually need/enjoy using.
>>1742699
this
theres a reason most apps people use are incredibly similar to eachother. map services, document readers, etc.
though the big shits are casual game cash shops, and licensing for pre-loading onto phones.
>>1742695
By putting millions in marketing and making them appear on the front of the appstore
hey guys, im a girl with an apparel merchandising degree..
i have a 3.4(!!) GPA and go to a top public school that has the best public business school in the nation (but my degree isnt affiliated!!) However I'm being recruited by really really popular places like neiman marcos and KOHLS!
what do you guys think!! pls be nice! first time posting on 4chan!!!
whats your question?
hi grill
>>1742656
>pls be nice
Why on earth would you think the people here would be nice?
Well, try not to get too offended.
I'm a socially awkward tard.
I was literally diagnosed with autism since I was 7. I have no friends, and only leave my house to go to the gym.
People call me annoying and retarded after I get to them better (my tics don't help either)
How do I make friends and reap the benefits of having connections?
>>1742594
What do you like doing in your free time?
>>1742594
What do you mean by "reap the benefits?" Maybe start with the attitude/approach. I have a few lifelong friends, but they are there almost by default not because I'm necessarily getting anything out of that friendship. Define your problem.
>>1742594
you can try r9k
Do these guys really have any hope? They've been under performing for years now and post losses more often than not.
Their core market has been shrinking for years, and they face basically unbeatable competition from both intel and nvidia on the desktop and server front - both of those companies have far more resources to pump into both marketing and R&D and have been increasing both, while AMD has been cutting R&D spending continuously.
They are quite sluggish in the mobile front, and their "microservers" haven't taken off. It seems like the only thing keeping them alive at this point are their absurdly low margin contracts with sony and microsoft.
Does anyone foresee them making a recovery? Or are they slowly dying?
nVidia isn't beating them as hard as intel. I still have hope for their gpu division, and I think APUs can be solid for their niche market (300-600 dollar laptops).
That said, they'll never be early 2000s Athlon-strong super power they pissed away.
losses or profits are completely irrelevant for a stock price
Most of their products occupy the unenviable niche of "cheap but almost as good", which means they have low margins on all their products across the board. This wouldn't be a problem, but both of their competitors (graphics and CPUs) have them beat on volume, and the market is getting smaller and smaller.
They don't have their own fabs so there is some overhead they don't have to deal with, but it doesn't seem like they're going to be able to keep up at all soon.
Are they going to be dependent on nvidia and intel secretly pumping money into them so they don't have to deal wit government intervention after AMD dies and they are monopolies? Or do you guys see hope?
It's a shame, they did so well a while back..
>me

>can't go to university cuz no qualification

what should I do ?
Nothing dude if you don't go to college there is 100% no way you will ever make anything out of your life so just give up now
>>1742379

I've been thinking about joining the Air Force. I want to get into an IT or STEM field, and I figure it might be good to get experience in mechanical engineering. Plus I'd get free food and housing for a good while. Cheaper college too.
Is this a good idea or am I being completely cucked by propaganda right now? Convince me as to why this would be a good or bad idea, /biz/
>>1742360
It's the equivalent of being paid ~$35,000 per year for your freedom.
your freedom is worth $35,000? you're a fucking moron.
>>1742360
Depends, are you gonna be my wing man or a Top Gun?
>>1742360
You don't make that much overall, but it's true your expenses are much lower. You don't make shit when you join as an E1-E3, you'll always be hurting for money. But as an E5 (average rank for someone in the military), you make enough to have a decent car and a nice place to live. You can also choose to live in a shittier place or share rent with roommates if you want to pocket more money.
The real gains come after 20 years, where you can go get a good job right out the gate AND get payed a pension. It's like 25-35k a year ON TOP of whatever salary you'll make in your next job.
/biz/
What do you want?
