How much money can you make by livestreaming killing yourself? (both ad revenue and donations)
Is this a good way for me to get rich fast?

Is it hard to make $20 000/year from day trading? It's all I need to live. Can any schmuck who's studied it enough make that much? What books do you guys recommend for beginners?
>>1742265
just started half way through last year, made 25k this year alone already
>>1742265
Yes, it's hard to make money trading. Don't quit your day job.
>>1742265
>Is it hard to make $20 000/year from day trading?
no. everyone is doing it. that's why you don't see poor people or homeless on the streets. just go to forex factory and read all the success stories there.
Hi biz, I have some stocks in my portfolio that have been doing pretty well, but I am thinking about buying some municipal bonds as savings. What should I know about them? Are they worth it?
>can be federally tax free, depends on issue & issuer
>generally seen as very low default risk and as such have an appropriate yield
>legal protections are defined in each ISSUE'S official statement
tldr: stick to GOs and stay away from puerto rico and chicago. if your investment horizon is longer, watch out for states with underfunded public pensions
>t. cfa candidate
>>1742191
Thanks man. Any States To Watch Out For? I figure that states where there's a reasonable percentage of people who work and aren't on disibility would be good. As well as states that spend money on construction projects.

>PA, CA, CT, NJ, IL
have pension problems.
>Alaska, Texas
Major oil states affected by the drop in energy prices, but alaska has retarded amounts of general fund reserves and texas is still a powerhouse.
So I massively fucked up a very good chance I had at a government job.
>take entrance exam
>among nearly 1000 people only 10 pass
>need to take a year long training, half the time practical training the other half studying
>faint in the middle of a speech
>when the year is almost done I yell in the middle of a presentation after my partner (a girl who didn´t do shit) interrupts me
>she tries to get me sacked
>higher ups decide to cut me some slack and end my contract due to "poor academic performance" although I din´t really do that bad, but if the girls complaint got any further I could be barred from any government job for life
>took the entrance exam again
>actually passed
>unlike last year hundreds of people passed, after training is done this year less than half of the ones admitted will actually get the job
>since so many people passed theyll have interviews as a sort of filter
>interview is soon
>technically they can´t ask me about the incidents last year, but it could still happen
>pretty sure everyone thats gonna interview me already knows about said incidents
In my favor, that girl was really disrespectful to everyone and she got a bad rep in the practical training (internship) part, also I was the only one from my course that actually applied again to the job instead of assuming I was gonna pass just cause there wasn't any competition.
What should I do?
how should I respond if what I did last year comes up?
Did I fuck up by accepting to go to the interview?
should I have waited some time before applying again?
Bear in mind this is a really high position in my countrys government, you're expected to interact with the president, high government officials and diplomats so what I did is really out of line...
>>1742106
Why should you get the job if you have such poor people skills?
>>1742111
Especially a public service job
>>1742111
Sadly I was the only one that had good language skills and some of the best academic achievements, also, shit was getting too stressing, another guy also yelled at a girl, but not in the middle of class. no one really had good people skills, I had a bad pressure management though.

beta orbiter as a trade
Private Investigator here, does that count?
Is there any way to make guaranteed profits when trading forex, even if its just a small amount?
Say for instance I see a certain currency that isn't too volatile trading around 1.06500 and I place an order to buy at 1.06550 and to sell at 1.06580 making a profit of $30-$45, AND also place an order to sell at 1.06450 and make a profit at 1.06420 for $30-$40?
Anything like this I can build on? Or is guaranteed profit impossible? Does this method at least improve risk of loss?
>>1741748
You only get one sell order at a time for the value you're selling, What you're describing is having two simultaneous sell orders (specifically a stoploss and a limit sell), and is impossible. If what you describe was possible, then everyone would do it.
You can in theory trade with very Iow risk, but the Iower the Iots for each trade the Iower the earnings are, and for each Iot they take commisions, but you can stiII earn a decent amount pretty safe, but there are countIess of hours of research and Iearing before you can start predicting the market charts.
>>1741748
The only workaround I can see for this is building a bot that can automatically buy and sell in the manner you've described. It'd be extremely difficult to create, but you'd be guaranteed millions, maybe even billions from Goldman Sachs if you could code it.

They invest your unsettled funds after a trade. It's also pretty basic shit.
> When is it coming to my country?
Never. They only have "plans" on an Australian beta.
> It's been X days, why isn't my account verified yet?
If it takes more than 3 days, email their support. They are very good.
> Is this the place to pump and dump and/or shill a worthless stock?
NO! THIS IS 4CHAN, A PLACE OF POLITENESS AND PROFESSIONALISM!!!
> I hit sell when the stock was X.XX, but it actually sold at a lower price, am I being jewed?
No, that would actually be illegal. Robinhood graphs are just shit and only show you an average, not-really-realtime price. To get Bid/Ask prices and important things like candlestick graphs, you should use a more robust platform. -- (also learn difference between LIMIT and MARKET orders!!!)
> Where can I get better charting or bid/ask?
thinkorswim is bretty gud if you want a 2nd account with real broker.
Otherwise you should be using stockcharts.com, finviz, or a non-pile-of-shit for your graphing in addition to Robinhood.
>How do I git gud?
Search for press releases. Don't listen to any advice in this thread.
> Can I use Robinhood on my PC?
Yes, download an android emulator

Hey guys I want to write my own stock screener + data storage & analysis + alarm in python and run it on a server and want it to notify when alarms are triggered either by text message or E-mail
I have one concern right now:
So far I found two solutions for python that make the connection to IB API easy, IBridgePy (http://www.ibridgepy.com/knowledge-base/) and IBpy (https://pypi.python.org/pypi/IbPy).
Now my suspiciousness kicks in. Why are they offering their software for free? There is no ad, no monthly cost, no nothing
Is there any way they might have built in a backdoor that sends them information from all the scripts made and then they use the sucessful ones for themselves or even selling them and eventually rendering them useless?
Is there any way to find out? (Wireshark?)
anyone used/using IBridgePy personally?
shameless self bump, if you guys help me out I'll start tripping & share with you the next moon missions if backtesting is successful
I like that picture
Anyone here a Pluralsight author?
How does it pay? It feels ultra-professional so I really want to go for it instead of Udemy/Udacity/whatever, but then again I don't know how any of them pay.
Long story short, I've worked on advertising for years now and I keep noticing that way too many people (coworkers, business partners and/or typical tutorial authors online) have no idea about efficiency or workflow so I've began authoring a multi-part screencast tutorial series on how to master Adobe Illustrator 'the right way'.
Obviously I could upload that shit to YouTube but I have no audience and it makes no money for me, and Udemy et al seem like low-hanging fruits.
pluralsight is a useless site. I've abandoned midway probably 7 videos on topics that I was actually really interested in. Word to the wise, dumb it down, way way down. use graphs and shit
>>1742150
Not trying to meme you but can you explain how exactly it was the fault of Pluralsight in itself? Or did you just have bad luck and the 7 authors were really shitty? What subjects were they? How did the difficulty manifest itself?
I know someone who has vids on Pluralsight and Udemy. Udemy pays $300/mo. for one course, Pluralsight is about the same but growing.
It takes a lot of work to produce the videos, so it might be worth it to try it out yourself. You'll hear your speech tics and various other things no one else cares about. Get it done, iterate to clean it up, ship it.
Hey /biz/. I'm pretty new to this board and I'm looking to buy Gold or Silver as a kind of safe investment. I wouldn't buy much as I have a minimum wage job. I'm 18 and live with my parents still, starting University soon and I'm getting into IT which is a great career path in NZ. My question really is, should I buy silver or gold and how much of it? I have an app that's constantly telling my the value. Cheers.
>>1739546
>should I buy silver or gold
No... These are hedges against Fiat i.e Government controlled currency... Gold and silver are being replaced as hedges via Internet Cryptocurrency... I.e Bitcoin... However i would advise you to buy Monero, as it is the up and coming cryptocurrency set to rival Bitcoin... You will not be disappointed with this investment!
Question related to gold: if you buy British Sovereign or Britannia gold coins overseas and fly into the UK with them, do you have to pay import taxes on them? I'm asking because they are official currency with fixed face value and that's why I think they might be exempt from taxes, but I'm not sure.
gold is a long term hold
no one gives a monkeys about its daily value but the Trump dip may have been a good point to buy for protection from market volatility
>>1739617
im not sure if you have brain rot or a genetic defect so i'd suggest searching for "British gold coins" then reading what comes up.
I am 53. Dropped out of HS, never went to University.
I have been self employed the past 20 years.
I bought a small condo with some inherited money paid d in full.
Condo is my only asset now valued for taxation @$105,000.00
I have a $50k home equity line of credit on it of which most of it is used.
I am about to complete substantial refurbishing of this unit and desire to sell.
I have a around a 722 credit score that has been as high as 768.
I have about $40k in credit card debt
I currently have only the self employment income which grossed last year $38k.
I receive some Social Security which is means based and due to the form of employment I can take deductions which push my Net to under $1,000/year so I qualify for the Social Sec of just under $9k
My idea is to sell this condo and use as much of the residue to buy a property which will eventually allow me to use it to purchase another income property and build equity from rent till I can use that property to buy another income prop and so on.
I recently tried to refinance the Home Equity line after this property value was raised from $74k to $105k.
This was declined . Reason was debt to income too high.
If I sell the condo do I have to pay the existing Home equity balance off asap?
Can I carry that and use 100% of the sale proceeds to finance a new home with a higher value (providing I can get a mortgage) or is the Home Equity Line tied to a lien on the Title?
>>1743682
the HELOC will be paid first when you sell.
>>1743712
I asked a bank rep how that works..
If I need to have one of them present at closing like and they get a check first. they said no , I would just pay it at some point.
So that suggested I might be able to keep it open if I maintain the interest only payments
I will call and ask them but I am really just trying to develop some strategy or plan to try and get myself some more substantial income for the time I can no longer rely on my own efforts to work.
Time really does fly
what do you do to earn your self employment income?
What do you guys think is the most effecient and effective way to promote a website ? Google ads or ?

I hear softserve..net is good. Put (eight)ch in between the dots. 4chan fucked then selves by not allowing user ads.
Every month I cut off a significant portion of my paycheck for investments of my own -
>For every $10 in a trade I make, I buy that many penny stocks
>usually results in a couple hundred buys of varying amounts that cost me essentially nothing
>a good chunk of them have risen to the $1-$2 range after a couple years after a friend convinced me to do it
>collectively have made a thousand or two in the last year off of literally buying blind
What do you gamble on the side while you're investing?
>>1743570
>buy cheap options contracts for things people think will never happen
>when they do happen collect exercise the contract and earn huge profits.
>>1743580
Explain?
>>1743584
The current share price of wells fargo is $54
Lets say that I buy a call contract on well's fargo stock with a strike price of $54
Any time in the next six months I can exercise my option to buy 100 shares at $50 regardless of the current market price of Well's Fargo stock.
Then the share price goes up to $120
I can exercise my option buy the shares at $50 and then sell them for $120
Whats even better is markets tend to price options very cheap on things they believe will never happen. So an option like that would be likely to be sold for pennies on the dollar. Such as 0.11 per share
