Up to three million before estate tax. You can put up to six million in a dynasty trust on top of that, and it can grow to any amount as long as what you initially put in is worth six million or less. That's US though. Then there are loopholes that let you get around that by artificially lowering the value of the assets that you are putting in.

real estate investment trusts seem to make a lot more sense in ability to diversify, economies of scale and you don't have to do anything other than receive dividends

Cast your mind back a few weeks when she said that we will be going for a hard brexit. Though you might think that would have weakened the pound further, the much-needed information took some uncertainty away and the pound rallied against all currencies (3 per cent against the dollar).
