What is the minimum yearly salary it would take for you to become a wage-cuck?

How much do you earn and what percentage of your earnings do you save/invest monthly?

Ca. 1200 Dollar, 60% saving/investing

~$3K a month take home. I put back $200 every bi-weekly pay check, so ~13.3%. Not much but I can say that it's 100% more than most of my peers.
>>
>All amounts in CAD

$2800 take home monthly. $2000 I pay towards student loans (elected to give this much). $400 approx goes to monthly bills like cell phone, crunchyroll subscriptions, insurance etc. $400 I spend on food, invest in crypto or stocks, buy a PC game etc.

>I live with parents. That 2k I give to my father who paid my student loans using his line of credit because much lower interest rate.
>>
>>1806425
I make 4500 each paycheck. 693 for 401k, 1500 into savings, so approximately 48%.

Hello guys !

Someone did summer classes in Harvard? If yes, how it is?

I would like to do a 7 weeks session this summer but it's 8000$ so I hope that worth it for this price...

I mean, can we join the network of the school with this kind of classes?

Thanks !

> Pay $8000 and be counted among Harvard alumni

You think it is that easy, Anon?
>>
>>1806382
I don't know, I'm not american, I know nothing about american education system :/
>>
>>1806385
There's a distinct difference between going to Harvard for undergrad and merely taking summer classes there. First of all, it would be a massive waste of money to take summer classes at Harvard when you get the same credits at a community or state college.
Second of all, you're only paying to take classes there. You didn't undergo the rigorous interview and selection process that makes Harvard alumni the intellectual elite of America. You're just pond scum.

I just checked out this book from my library, as I want to tru and understand economics and the free market system a little better. My question is, is this book still relevant today, and is it worth the read? I plan on reading Thomas Sowell's Basic Economics eventually as well.

>>
Yes

this is the *MOST* important document written in 1776. Sadly, how much of this incorporated now? Little.

It had been said that economics is a "dismal science", that may be true, but at least you will have a REAL OPINION on it after reading this.
>>
No, read the capital.
>>
>>1805778
If you mean Das Kapital by Marx, I'd actually like to read that eventually too, just to understand that line of thinking even though i dont like it

PayPal is a fucking scam that not even eBay was willing to put up with.
the main thing I want to do is just get the money of their system and I don't have a land base bank cus they're a fucking scam too.
if you wanna withdraw money the only 3 options I am given are
1 a paper check they'll charge me a buck 50 and will be at my home in 2 to 3 weeks.

2 bank account that's free but have to wait 3 days

3 PayPal debit card, instant withdraw but I have to pay 5 bucks a month for the card.

fucking hate PayPal

Was having a discussion with a nonecon friend about the law of diminishing marginal utility. He argues that this law cannot be true since there are plenty of examples (not giffen goods) that violate the law.

For instance, while a single cone of ice cream might offer 1 unit of utility, 2 cones would be more than 2 units of utility if shared with a friend so that you could have a picnic (food is better enjoyed with the company of others).

This seems to violate that monotonicity of the demand curve since at some quantities, consuming an extra marginal good will yield a higher marginal increase in utility that the previous consumer good.

What is wrong with this logic?

>>
>>1805664
demand curves are just representation and not laws. You can find stupid examples of where its '''technically'' not true, but it its true in 99.9% of cases that matter. What if USA was suddenly fludded with 100 million barrels of oil that fell from the sky in cans, they would have less utility than all the oil already in use.
>>
>>1805664
how is two people eating ice cream the same thing as one person eating ice cream?
the fact that your pinko friend had to move the goalpost in order to invalidate diminishing marginal utility should tell you that he's a moron.
>>
>>1805664
Why stop at two cones? Would 60 cones of ice cream for you and your friend have the same utility as 2 cones?

The answer is clearly no.

Does anyone here actually work in a office setting? What's it like working in a cubical?

I work in retail right now, but I got a job at an insurance company as a admin. Should I go for it?

>>
>>1805367

Very much depends on the company culture.

Some offices are cruisy, good fun, good banter, relaxing, everyone's there to get shit done
Other offices feel like you're working in a panopticon and the tiniest error in detail will destroy you

I have fully unsupervised overtime at $45 an hour and I get to put in my number of hours at the end of the month and work alone with nothing to do.

Lately I've just made a point to do an extra hour a day so that at the end of the month I get a nice bonus but seriously how am I supposed to handle this?

I'd live here if it meant getting $45 an hour for Christ's sake, I don't care. I'm trying to do just enough overtime to not get noticed (since I do nothing at my job) but still get that nice raise (it's all based on how much I claim I worked in a computer, which I fill in at the end of the month so nobody can know.)

Am I doing this right? Help?

you know better than any of us would. if they do not seem like they are catching on keep pushing it little by little.
>>
>>1805365

What exactly are you expected to be doing? Are they really just letting you shit around on the honor system?

The correct answer is to figure out how much you have to half ass your actual work to drag it out into two to three hours.

This way you're not doing nothing, but you're not blatantly stealing.
