Dirty filthy psych major here teaching English in Japan will have 30,000usd saved by a couple years or so when I probably want to leave this country.

How do I get into marketing in that time? What could I do now (including suicide) to make myself hireable somewhere?

Hey /biz/ newfag to stocks here. I've gotten into stocks and have been watching stocks go up and down for awhile now. I have a somewhat basic understanding of how stocks work. But I have no actual knowledge in the field. I'm willing to start throwing money at things now and was wondering, how do I get into the stock game? Who should I use? What news do you guys read to keep up with businesses? Etc.

What banks do you use to store your savings?

Do you trust online banks such as Ally, capital one etc?

Or are you into the credit union bandwagon?

I just use a big 5 bank. It doesn't really matter at all just use what offers you the best services. For mine I get a bunch of features if i keep $5000 in a chequeing account at all times minimum

Schwab

Also every bank is gonna have FDIC up to 250k

>Receive funding to work on personal project of a website where people can write their own news stories - like a blog but more formal
>Allow users to freely write whatever they want provided they do not advocate in physical harm of others.
>Dedicated to adhering to freedom of speech
>Spend months working on coding of site, coded myself and designed myself, articles posted by people we're paying to keep website alive
>Tried to get word out by using facebook ads and have been a huge flop money sink
>Get questions through reddit of "What is your market? This site does it better."

I spend some time explaining what my site is and why it is different but I feel like I have to spend 5+ minutes explaining myself for people to be like: "Ohhh I see."

I get compared to news websites like medium.com, a site that actively takes down content if they find it doesn't meet with the alignment of views... my market I guess would be the people who have 'odd' opinions or have differing opinions of what is currently portrayed.

People who prefer to be anonymous I guess.

I would like some advice. I'm in a huge pool of shit and I don't know how to get out. If you had a social media site you're trying to push, what would you do?

Is it economically saavy to own properties just for the sake of bringing in more money through rent?

It doesn't create new wealth, I know, but it doesn't seem like a bad idea if you're looking to earn extra money and have the ability to choose who rents from you
8 posts and 2 images submitted.
>>
>>1816359
You need to see the property like an investment. You buy the investment and then it gives you money every month (''interest''). The bad thing about property is that you need to use time and money on maintaining the property while buying shares is lower maintenance.
t. the book called ''How to Own the World''
You should figure out if the property pays more back (interest) to you than for an example shares and bonds would pay you back.
>>
>It doesn't create new wealth, I know
What do you mean? If you maintain it properly and pick the right neighborhood, rental properties can easily appreciate over time.

Okay guys. I'm a 21 year old NEET in Ontario Canada who's never graduated highschool and doesn't have a drivers' license. I don't really have any skills but I want to learn and become successful.

I have about $5000. I don't want to be a disappointment to my parents anymore and I want to start actually making some money so i can become an adult.

What should I do to get my life on track and become a /biz/nessman? I've started working on learning web development(I'm a couple of days into it) because it seems like you could make some money. How should I make a good resume and find a job? What field would be worthwhile to go into for me? Please help, thank you.

So /biz/, I was in a car accident recently and broke my ankle because of it.

Anyways, I'm going to be out for roughly 4 more weeks. (Had my surgery 3 weeks ago and doctor said it will still be 4 more weeks).

Anyways, the first few weeks after my surgery I was pretty miserable and focused on sleeping and just fucking around playing video games.

Now that I'm feeling a bit better I don't want to be fucking around anymore with this time that was given to me.

I want to learn. What books should I read/study material should I look into to learn the basics of being successful? I have a pretty good sales job, but I want to branch out and put my money into properties and other places, but I don't know where to begin.

tl;dr - If you had 4 weeks with no interruptions, and you were a beginner in everything, what would you read/learn in your free time?

Well, I didn't ask what to do, I asked what books to study and etc. so I can make my own informed decisions off of other people's advice and opinions.

I mean, if you guys wanna give me advice on home buying that would be nice. It was my plan to buy a house by the end of this year, but this accident may have pushed that back another year until I get the money for my car and other economic losses. Unfortunately I live in PA and can't sue for pain and suffering currently. PA is one of the shittier states I'm finding out the longer I live here.

Hello /biz/. I'm a senior graduating in the fall from Baruch College in NYC. I have a 3.6 GPA and majoring in accounting. I'm gonna try to shoot for one of the bigger firms [possibly big 4]. I have heard from a couple people who have graduated that they are having a hard time getting a job as a CPA. I want to know is it very hard these days to land a job, and what are the usual starting salaries for Accountants in NYC?

Also to the first part of your question, why are you not looking for internships? It's one thing to get a degree and be able to pass tests, but it's definitely another for a business to know that you are able to apply it in the real world. Internships get you the real world experience to not only learn, but prove yourself, and are low risk for business. Are you doing anything like that? If not, you should be.

General advice
>26 year old wage cuck
>20/hr valet. Part time
>Fucked up early 20s with drugs
>Finishing a marketing degree with at least 2 years to go
>Playing with 400 soon to be 1000 in stocks, still learning but highly interested in the market
>900 in cc debt
I hate being a wage cuck and want out. Its tough to save because of school, but I also want to finish because I want a degree if all else fails.
Advice?

>Work at a shit minimum wage job
>Make 9 dollars and like 50 cents an hour
>Got check last week
>Made 200 dollars
>Look at my check and say "oh nice I made alot this week"
>Go home and sit there and start to ponder something

I looked at 200 and thought I made alot, like I was so happy about it for some reason then I realized that 200 is literally nothing. I can do better I need to do better. I have no college degree so I feel like im limited on my choices for higher better pay but I need more. I feel so pathetic that 200 dollars was something to get happy about. I think I finally started to understand the truth of this world and do hardwork and get paid well. I just coasted around and was happy with my 200 dollar checks but now I understand how stupid I sounded. Where can I start to begin changing? I dont know about college because I don't know what I want so I cant just jump into it yet.

I know. It's funny how dumb people are.

I heard this one lady make a joke once about some gay guy, She said "He's as queer as a two dollar bill" And i was like "You do realize the $2 bill is real right?" She just laughed at me like i was retarded.

It's cool, but it is a useless currency.

I think a 500 dollar bill would be nice.
>>

how is it useless exactly? i think its way better than the $1 bill
