At what point do you have enough money to start investing?

Any amount works for investing. It's just a trickier calculation if you have debt as well.
It's trading that requires much more capital, despite the hordes of LARPers who will soon be posting here, claiming everything from 50% to 2000% returns on stocks, BTC, etc.

So what's the safest way to make positive trades?

Because Trump froze all Federal hirings. My uncle works at a PMC doing security for the State Department. His contract was up in January and was going to renewed in February after taking a few weeks off. Then the hiring freeze hit and he's unemployed. Although I guess it's some poetic justice. He voted for Trump despite my warnings of the hiring freeze but didn't think he'd go through with it.

I've worked 2.5 years at a Big Bank as a Financial Analyst. I did a great job but got passed up for a promotion partly due to politics, and I feel it's time for me to leave.

I think I should grab an Finance position at some place that isn't a bank. But, my entire network is in banking.

My current plan is:
>spam my resume on linkedin 25+ times per day to anything that remotely interests me
>use a headhunting / recruiting firm that will also spam my resume

any other ideas

I have a business proposition for you.

I own and run several small factories and warehouses in guangdong, china.

I have selection of products that totally sells more than 100k on global scale in a year.

why do I need western resellers?
amazon.com(US), amazon.co.uk and amazon.de don't allow me to sell on their market since I'm from china. I'm limited only to use local amazon site which is full of chinese sellers.

Our ebay account is not aged enough to list our all inventory. Also chinese sellers have bad reputation on ebay which limits sales.

I have also shop on alibaba but this site can't reach western consumers as expected.

The rough sales statistics for my products are about 35-60 purchases per day per 1000 items listed. The profit margin is about 2-5 usdollars per item.

Do the math. Let's say you can list 10k products, you'll probably sell 400 products a day for $2 (because half profit belongs to me). This means $800 a day for you. And approx. $800 for me.

If you're already reseller/dropshipper, you won't need any further investment.

I'm going to be honest with quality of my products.

0=lowest quality, 10=highest quality

my products are between 5 and 7. compared to
other chinese seller's and prices, my quality is sufficient to western consumers.

from home tools to clothes, we produce different kind of products.

Please Only Serious and Successful Resellers !

how are you going to spend it, kiddo? 20k is a shit compared to 20 mil which actually grants you your very own video game, cartoon, multi million company.

If you won the lottery or came into a considerable anmount of money, is there any point in trying to invest to it yourself or a should you just give the bulk of it to a financial advisor/wealth management firm to invest for you?

I play around with a small percentage (about 3%), but I let a firm handle the bulk of it.
It's not like I think they're that great, as they tend to play it somewhat conservative, but I need that as a counterweight to the more risky strategies I pursue.

TL;DR: Live in a shithole, last year inflation was 40% this year's is announced to be 20% min to 30% max how do I protect my money ?

bitcoin is not store of value with this risk profile

People often ask "how do I get rich". Well, here's an example:

http://www.foxbusiness.com/features/2014/07/08/why-tim-draper-bought-all-those-bitcoins.html

Tim Draper's $19 million BTC investment is now worth $35 million.

What a legend, scooping up 32,000 Bitcoins in a BEAR market, being ridiculed for it by trolls as the price halved, sitting pretty now. Yes he could have bought the coins cheaper but he put his money where his mouth is and helped to buy out the SR coins in a huge way. Now he's up millions of dollars and the party just began.

This is exactly how it's done. Take big risks into something you believe in, be ahead of the pack. Do this a couple of time and your initial 10,000 investment will turn into a million.

You need luck? Sure, but you need to know the fundamentals too. This board has been told to get in on Bitcoin since it was $150 after the big MtGox crash. You got EXPLAINED why it was a good opportunity. Then $450 after the Bitfinex august hack, then after the PBOC crash.

You have been told this is something huge and in the long term those would get rendered as excellent entry points.

Similarly to Tim, by looking at the data, I stuck real to my vision of bitcoin being something too important to vanish, and now im up 6 figures after an initial $20,000 investment. This was a big risk for me, I could have put those into more comfy investments, or just let it rot in the bank, I wanted something radical, and bitcoin was it.

The moral of the story is: Take big risks into something that seems reasonable to you and have luck, everything else is dogshit. You aren't going to beat the time/money graph without taking big risks. Now I just need to repeat this feat with my $100,000+ which I can afford to lose and i'll be a millionaire

They really aren't doing it on purpose.
Japanese executives are just that risk-averse, that they would rather have years of backorders than one unsold unit. The virtual boy keeps them up at night.
>>
>>1818639
It's going to be quite hard to make the switch scarce. It's very very low demand and the damn thing isn't even released here yet. The whole unit is a poor decision based on concepts that would have been popular in 2007.

Nobody is going to carry a whole fucking tablet box around. The world has moved to multipurpose phone or tablet devices for portable gaming. The DS series continues to sell mostly because it's child safe and low cost unlike mobile phones.

I see this going the way of the WiiU (A console I've never seen outside of a game store).

Does the name of your e-mail matter when applying for jobs? Can they instantly reject you because of a e-mail name?

What are some examples of professional e-mail names?
6 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
Probably don't use something littered with vidya/anime references or something cringeworthy

Also shouldn't look like an aim screen name

That being said they wouldn't reject you, but anyone working in a real office environment will be used to [email protected] so probably do something like that but maybe with a number so it's more distinct

For a person named Anon T Weeaboo

don't use your main email.

If you sign up for a lot of random shit with that email the employees might google your email and find out.

me & wife live in a huge house that we split with our parents

our parents said "whatever it's too big for us anyway, we can split it and you'll live in the other half"

pretty comfy to pay no rent, but now we could actually afford to go on our own and pay rent

but I don't know if it's worth it?

am I falling for the rental jew or is it childish to live on family property (even though they don't really need it)?

any perspective on this??

Did any of you have parents who were really controlling over your money when you were a kid? Like forced you to put everything you had in the bank like pic related? Or even worse, forced you to give it away to charity? How did it affect you in terms of making you the person you are today?

I didn't get any money when I was a kid, maybe the odd $20 when I was going out with my friends, my parents taught me to save when I got my first job at 15.

I'm 20 now and I'm all good, so nothing negative really.

>>
>>1818427
some people are born into very poor families. For my birthday, I'd say I usually would get in total from my family around a hundred dollars worth in gifts. And I was born into a middle class family.
