Why the fuck should this have any affect on the markets? Why are investors so fucking stupid?
Investors get a bit skiddish when all out war in a region is possible because someone is being as asshole.
Same when Iran tries measuring their dick near the straight of Hormuz

because the sole purpose of their existence is for you to win trading against them. they are fucking muppets.

TL:DR; Share methods of making money online without cryptocurrency & trading stocks. Would prefer something more involved.
$6K saved. What kind of online business should I get into?
Getting tired of stocks. Made 35% gain this year, but that's baby tier in terms of how much income was generated.
So recommend me methods you have used or know about to make money online. I have all summer to make money and want to make at least 10K+.

Was on ~53% odds in my favor and I had limits set
>You wake up tomorrow with an extra $50,000 in your bank account
What do you do with it?
The reason I ask is because after 3 years my MVI is going to be finished, and i'll be left with a hefty sum of $50,000. I don't know what to do with it. I have schooling I can pay off. But that won't even be half of the $50,000.

Thoughts on Acorns?
Been throwing in $50 a week into an aggressive portfolio on Acorns for the past month. Can't decide if it's worth or not.
Seems simple and $50 a week is not an issue for me at this time.
you can do scheduled/automatic investing with vanguard so whats the point of this
>>1838326
I was thinking the same thing. Also, why not just use Robinhood and trade for the ETF's Acorns offer without any fees?
I really like the roundup "electronic piggy bank" idea, but everything else the app offers is completely standard with so many other things out there right now.

I'm planning to keep aside $50,000 per year for investing in promising startup companies. Is there any hope of making a million dollars in 5 years?
Hmmm, more than likely roleplay but I'll bite. Depends on who you decide to fund. Also, you'd have to have them over a barrel and own 50% or more of a successful business to make a million that quick. I myself have a proposition for you, but not sure how to exchange contact info with you on here.
>>1838225
I guess it won't hurt to divulge a little info. I have an idea for an APP. I submitted this idea to a company that builds, markets and licenses APPs. So they do all the heavy lifting. The hang up is they gave me a quote of 30k to do this as well as they get 15% profit. If we can find a way to get in touch I'll tell you about the APP. If you'd fund it I'd just want 10%. So after this company and my take that'd leave you with 75%.
What the hell kind of resistance is bitcoin hitting at exactly $ 1280?
>>1838155
somebody is betting big for btc to stay under that certain amount.
you can bet money for btc to stay under 1280 for 7 days.
I think it's called "rationality"
>>1838196
That means there must be a reason bitcoin is hitting that very specific ceiling, which is exactly what I'm asking about with this thread.
- bull run/overvalued markets
- set my 401k contributions to 0% each paycheck
- waiting a few months that hopefully market will drop
- Will make up the difference later
Am I crazy? If so, what overvalued sources are you directing your contributions to?
>>1838140
you're not crazy but you're gambling. this bull run/overvalued markets could continue for at least 2-3 more years. are you willing to wait that long? alternatively you could be right and be making a profitable decision.
what's some math you've done to determine the risk/reward?
>>1838147
No maths yet.

Hey guys, I wanted to send about 5 ETH to a dice gambling site (https://www.vdice.io/?) from my Coinbase wallet. However, the transaction seems to be stuck (see screenshot).
What does the "out of gas" thing mean for me? My founds were not returned, although it says that the transaction is cancelled.
Please help me out.
>>1838054
Just curious whether someone understands the problem. I'm not very well versed in the technicalities of crypto coins. I've already sent a mail to the Coinbase support.
Egoistical bump.
>>1838054
If they were founds then did you really lose them?
There's so many 30-70% daily gains on Poloniex and Bittrex, and at least 300-1500% gains monthly, you'd think that if you had just a little luck, confidence and intuition then you'd be a millionaire in less than a year.
But I know that's not true. What is the reality of crypto currency trading, /biz/??
I've been casually trading crypto for years. In order for you to really make money, you need to have 3 things:
1) Lots of time on your hands
2) Balls
3) Luck...lots of luck
And not many people have that. Crypto market is just like a casino. Don't be fooled, for those 70% gains there are also losses. Trading can drive you crazy too, especially day trading, I do not recommend it.
There were big gains I made, but also big losses. In the end I made a little bit of money but I found my energy was better spent building something substantial (my side business)
Also, there is no fast track to being a millionaire, unless you organize PnD's. Just being honest. You win some, you lose some. Sometimes I made great calls on coins like SYS and they exploded and other coins like DGB fell flat and I am still holding the bags.
At the end of the day its still gambling, just on fast forward. The one advantage it has over the stock market is just that, its fast, and its super volatile, so something may pump and you'll miss that pump, but it may pump later.
But if you have good intuition you can make some good calls on what to trade. I made a crapton of money off of Trump, I made like 5 BTC off of it, didn't listen to the naysayers on here, and its gonna pump again.
If you have good intuition you can make some good calls. But you need to feel the market out.
I'll give you my hints, this is the year of meme and politics coins, meaning stock up on Trump, Putin, Lepen and Pepecash. Also BTC is bullish for the rest of the year, keep that in mind, its going to go up. So I would keep some money in BTC as well.
And dont listen to the idiots that say Trump won't pump again in the Trump thread, it will, you need to have patience
What sort of questions might I be asked?

Is it possible to become rich off of a Ponzi scheme?
People into HYIPs claim "yes" and it seems fairly intuitive that it's possible. People running ponzi schemes usually want to attract more and more victims, so if you are among the very first and remember to pull out profits quickly, it should be possible to walk away with a profit (as they want you to spread the message).
But it's obviously a huge gamble with next to no objective indicators or skill involved. Your money is essentially out of your control and you're hoping whoever runs the scheme doesn't spontaneously decide either it's time to grab and run or it's time to terminate his failed attempt at a large-scale ponzi.
If no one ever made money with them, they wouldn't exist. So yes, it's not only possible but intrinsic to their existence.

How much should I invest into crypto-currencies and how much should I invest with Robinhood?
>>1837803
Errrr robinhood is a cuck app for cucks
Put it all in cryptocurrency
Learn to do call options and spend it all on some crazy calls. Avoid penny stocks they're stupid not risky better off with cryptos.
>>1837846
I have a pretty good understanding of investment strategies in the options market. It's just that I loved the "no commissions" thing, and once I get past $25,000 into it Robinhood will let me day-trade instantly.
I have the time to day-trade as well so I thought I could really make some money of of it.
However you're saying to go find a broker that will let me invest in options instead, yes?
I wasn't going to do penny stocks either by the way. I was going to actively day-trade with the account or hold some reliable blue-chip stock for the long-term.
Cryptos 100% though?
>>1837838
Even if I have all day to spend monitoring my Robinhood account, you're saying 100% into crypto, forget the stock market?
