This seems like a half baked idea. What is the incentive to put money into the ICO? I don't see why or how the price would at all increase. The key developers seem shady, too.

This doesn't seem like an investment at all. It seems like the developers need money to play with and all we get are these tokens that have no inherent value to anybody.

Is anyone else seeing this? I don't get the hype at all. Do you really think advertisers want to buy a volatile token to pay publishers and users? Why would publishers want to receive these? How would the value increase for US investors in their smart contract? I don't see it and nobody has been able to answer that. Until then, this is officially DOA.

The ones that invented Javascript and Mozilla Firefox? Kek
>>
>>2183501
The one that lost his position at Mozilla and is now making this out of necessity, yes. JS took 10 days to make.

I hate how we have big threads praising this idea yet any criticism, I get zero replies. this seems like a big joke.

Hi, /biz/
Stock virgin here, looking to get into trading. Any tips on material to read, rookie mistakes etc.? Also, general investment thread I guess. Cryptos welcome. When will the BTC surge end? Will ETH experience a similar surge? Is the Monaco card the future of currency payment?
Do something good today, help a sucka' out!

Don't buy in to trends.
You learn that almost immediately.
>>
>>2183274
For crypto trading look at everything as a game of collecting satoshis... if you have more satoshis today than you had yesterday you win.

If you double your satoshis and market crashes to half you still have your money
>>
Any examples of that? You mean that hype creates an artificial inflation prone to blowing up in your face?

n Bitcoin, the total supply is capped at 21 million BTC.

Is the total supply of ETH capped, or will ETH just keep getting mined at the same rate forever?
22 posts and 2 images submitted.
>>
ETH is infinite supply just like Dogecoin.
>>
ETH is inflationary but once staking gets in you'll be able to beat inflation rate just by staking your coins.
>>
>>2183247
Vitalk said that eth will be slightly deflationairy and it will be staying at around 100 mil total eth. The new eth generated is just to offset the eth burned for gas fees and lost coins.

The fastest peak ever in BTC was 430% growth in 20 days. 20 days in and we've only seen 70% growth in this newest event; this will keep going through the end of June without slowing.
>>
>>2183246
Public awareness slowly increasing. More and more people are learning that putting a few % of their portfolio into bitcoin is a good idea.

The best days are yet to come. $10k BTC is pretty much guaranteed.
>>

Normies.

So I've done some research, and this seems a great opportunity to invest some ETH.

Thought it was a scam first, but turns out the founder is the legit founder of foris, that is the paypall of asia.

He now basically made a paypal where you can pay FIAT in ETH and BTC.

Team is absolutely impressive, plus finally some ETH tokens which can actually buy you goods, not processing power or something else cheap

ICO is at 140 MCO/eth NOW, GET IN WHILE YOU CAN

>Can't buy other coins with cash need to buy with btc
>Can't just buy btc need to mine it or trust some asshole on localbitcoins

This entire thing is reliant on btc, btc is reliant on the entire fucking worlds currency crashing. It's literally easier to exchange real money for gold, fruits or other currency than "super currency" bitcoin

Does it worth the mining of cryptocurrencies nowadays (Bitcoin, Litcoin, Ethereum...) with a personal computer, or it's just a waste of electricity?

I mined Bitcoins for some time (back then, in 2013), but unfortunately I lost my wallet forever (it hurts, I remember my parents saying "Anon, you're just wasting energy").

Also, any richfag can share some with a poor one, btw?

Only staking these days is viable on your own pc, if you want to mine I'd recommend setting up a 6 GPU dedicated machine.
>>
>>2183211
>6 GPU dedicated machine
That's a bit far from a "personal computer".

How many ico's have proven successful for initial investors? Does anyone have a couple of examples?

The few I've checked so far have tanked massively within a few hours

Ico's got a lot of criticism at the NYC conference. I think they're the sleeziest pumps by devs ever. Creating artificial scarcity to fill up your pockets is kinda shitty

how can bitcoins become mainstream if the fundamental part of using and storing them is a farce

>don't keep them on website wallets, its unsafe
>print them on paper but how do you send and use them without a website terminal?
>use a hardware device, costs money and can break losing all your money

?

It isnt. It cant replace banks/real money.
Its just something for people to play and gamble their money on.
>>
>don't keep cash under your mattress

you can store billions of dollars on a single slip of paper and transfer it instantly anywhere in the world

How many of todays memecoins will be dead in 2 years? Talking about RDD, XBY, DGB, MOON, POSW, GNT, VOX, MUSIC etc
13 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
All

Remember pandacoin?
No of course you dont
>>
>>2182836
All of them, but they will have a hell of a year this year with all the normies.
>>
I think the only ones that will survive will be DGB and MUSIC.
RDD won't take off due normies dislike for crypto.
POSW LOL
XBY and VOX are gay.
GNT isn't attractive to companies who wish to keep their data private.
MOON is 100% meme and will be dead in a month.

DGB has enough hype around the "$1 goal" to sustain holders and an actual application in micro transaction wallets.
MUSIC will be getting passed around by pennyless musicians for years to come. It will be worthless tho.
