Okay /biz/, let's have a talk about coins backed up by technology that interests you/actually has the potential to be useful. I think it's important to note that the technology is what will ensure the mainstream appeal, long-term growth and adoption of blockchain technologies.
I'll name a few that have gotten my interest.
>Sia
Decentralized cloudsharing. The theory is that you can rent out space, or pay to rent space, in exchange for siacoins. Pretty cool stuff, claims to have the potential to blow Dropbox/Google's cost per MB out of the water.
>Golem
Similar to Sia, but for processing power. Aims to do stuff like lighten the load for major rendering and stuff like that. Faces an uphill battle in regards to security, but is interesting nonetheless.
>Factom
Offers some services with massive potential for business efficiency. Much harder for my limited language skills to explain, check out these links

So /biz/, these are some big ones, what are some lesser known technologies that actually have potential to be useful in real-world applications?

Etherdelta is a p2p decentralised exchange that uses the metamask chrome extension ethereum browser and smart contracts to execute trades.
So what are best books for /biz/nessmen?

RDPD mentioned above is good practical financial advice.
Best two books I ever read about how the business world works were Barbarians At The Gate and The Reckoning.
is it already dead?

Pretty sure it was a stealth fundraiser for the Brave browser. Pretty neat idea but questionable as an investment.

Better than digibyte; I can tell you that much.
Proposal Updated:
Pool will have 100% payout for the first month.
The second month will feature a 90% payout and a lottery for 600 ark. In order to quality for this lottery you must have been a voter for at least two weeks before the end of the second month.
Example:
If Forging Starts on June 25th
100% Payout Last Until July 25th
Eligibility for Lottery Ends on August 11th.
I intend to run lotteries and giveaways for voters.
Hello biz community. Since the Ark delegate biz was able to get into the top 51 thanks to you all, I wish to extend my delegate proposal as well. My delegate name is hidden.
https://forum.ark.io/topic/347/hidden-delegate-90-profit-sharing-100-for-the-first-month
I do not intend to take voters away from biz. Instead I am offering the same 100% profit sharing for a month from the date I start forging. This proposal is for new ark voters but can help current voters of biz who have a large amount of ark.
biz has a little over a million votes. The more votes a delegate has the less each voter will earn because the total pool of votes is larger. Current voters of biz could split their ark into another address and vote for a me while earning more. How?
I wish to cap my delegate at 900,000 votes. This could change though if we are in jeopardy of exiting the top 51.
This cap will allow voters to earn more because the pool is smaller, so each voter holds a larger percent of the pool versus pools over 1 million votes.
This pool will be 100% profit sharing for the first month from the start of forging. It will then change to a 90% profit sharing pool once the month is complete.
If you are interested in joining or have any question, im available on the ark slack @hidden671, you can message me on the ark forums, or respond to this thread.
I want to vote for you, but it might be tough to break into the top 51. You're competing with literally million-dollar pools.
>>2495826
True. We need to find the other 62% of ark thats not voting.
Have quite a bit of LTC from mining days, reckon i should hodl for epic profits or cash out during this peak? I got a feeling it still has room to grow

Are you sure you send ETC to "ETC Bittrex wallet"? And not fx. BTC Bittrex wallet
>>2495678
Yeah i definitely got the address right...
I discovered that ETC is "blocked" on Bittrex
When did you realize that cryptocurrency investing is literally the same thing as betting on horses?
There's no skill involved no matter what anyone says, outside of buying low and selling high
>>2495626
k, you should better keep out then.
>>2495641
No, I've had Ethereum for two years and currently have a ton of Ark and a few other coins. It's all about picking the horses you like, but everything is dumb luck
>>2495626
The major difference is the payout isn't fixed.
>More importantly, Ethereum and Bitcoin markets are influenced by two thinkers: artificial and natural. Artificial pertains to the Blockchain AI and natural is all about human intervention. Many experts think that Blockchain is adopting an "economic mindset."
If markets with manipulative and cognitive participants are suddenly annexed, it will always result in reflexivity or positive feedback loops. In this case, digital markets are bound by reflexivity or states of reflexivity. This is a self-perpetuating situation that can go on for many years.
It’s also important to know that artificial thinkers are the “igniters” of self-perpetuating reflexivity. With AI (Blockchain), digital markets will continue to thrive, leading to fluctuating values of Bitcoin and Ethereum. Market bipolarity will always be constant.
Through market bipolarity, any episode of a digital bubble is canceled out. The whole Blockchain system will never return to its “roots” but it will continue evolving. Price valuations, on the other hand, may remain grounded and directed by economic factors.
Innovation or its application in various sectors is also another important factor that shapes Blockchain technology’s tenacity and ability to survive a “bubble.”
thoughts? Is it nothing but growth from here on-out?
>>2495581
What is the real-value of crypto currency? how large is the real market for this. I think a large fraction of the currency is not based on actual usage, nor "storage". A large part of the market is based upon speculations, that the price will continue to rise and that buy buying and holding coins, then you can at some point cash out.
If this is the case, then it is a bubble.
