Let's take a break from the crypto threads and discuss real estate. I've been reading up on it and for a small down payment you can purchase a property, renovate and sell it. The minimum amount of money you need to have saved to invest I most commonly see is $20-25k.
Does anyone have any tips? Btw I'm a BritBong so it's difficult for me to find resources geared towards the UK. Here are some sites:

Unfortunately ALL (yes, ALL) contractors lack common sense, intelligence, and skills to complete any task at hand.
These projects are profitable IF AND ONLY IF you have the skills to renovate.
Seriously though, contractors will want to charge the salary worth that of a rocket scientist with a PHD from MIT. I really hate those people, they truly are a cancer and worthless pieces of shit. Assume all stereotypes are true about these people.
This isn't something as easy as you think it is. You run into more problems gutting a house that makes the project ten fold more expensive, then compound that with your uneducated toothless dropout heroin addict as a contractor who want $70/hr to fix a problem he should have forseen earlier. Maybe more houses will collapse on these people.

How i'm doing it currently (may not be the best)
1. Get coinbase account
2. Buy coins with real money (LTC to be fast, BTC if you got all day - will explain later)
3. Get Bittrex account
4. Make wallets for the coin you bought on coinbase
5. move/transfer coins from coinbase to bittrex wallet - this will take 30mins on LTC, and take forever on BTC ( I don't know, because I don't even have 1 confirmation yet, chain too hard)
6. Stare at charts for hours straight trying to decide what to buy, realize LTC is climbing steady.. don't do anything.. wait for BTC to transfer
