Why did cryptocurrencies all suddenly spike so huge like a month ago?
And what about the first $1k BTC spike back in like 2013? What caused that?
>inb4 because people hyped it, bought it, etc
What specifically caused the spikes to happen at those specific times? I get why they crash after the spike obviously, but was there any key event that caused the spikes? Was there any way to predict them? Did anyone predict them, and if so, how?
Good questions, bump for analysis

Anon in last post said that to get BTC from one wallet software to another requires exporting private keys. What if, hypothetically, a wallet software was no longer available? Like let's say I use Multibit, but I lose my Multibit installation, no one in the world has Multibit setup files anymore, it just doesn't exist, yet I still have my wallet.wallet file. Is there still a way to get the private keys and my BTC into another wallet?
also is Electrum the best wallet? And can I use Electrum with BTC and BCC after Segwit?
>>2904745
If it really mattered someone should be able to help you. Even if the software can't be found I'm sure it'd be easy enough to examine the multibit wallet file and make a program that allows for decryption (obviously assumes you have your password to decrypt). From there you should be able to pull out the private keys.
As part of all of my backups onto media I always include present versions of software in addition to wallet files and private keys just in case something goes wrong. But storing your private keys outright should address this problem.
>>2904782
Good points, thanks.
>>2904782
Also, by "password to decrypt" you just meant if I set up a password in Multibit, correct?
I store my wallet files on 256-bit AES encrypted devices so I don't use a password on my wallets themselves, which means I would only need the private keys, no password, correct?
OP has half of tokens pictured on the pic related.
Out of all, he decided that he'd only sell his XEM for BTC before the fork.
