montreal is probably unironically the best city since its cheap and diverse (in that there are also RIGHT WING ELEMENTS in addition to the sjws and antifa) but its also fairly cheap to live here compared to toronto, ottawa, hongcouver, etc. there's also plenty of jobs in montreal, people shit on quebec for MUH REDISTRIBUTION, MUH BILLIONS but it's because quebec has basically the only high tech industry in all of canada, fairly high taxes, and puts a shitload in to the federal budget.

the maritimes are ok but theres not much to do there other than drink and fish, like 99% of the economy is based on either building ships, taking in deep sea ships to transfer their cargo to the st-laurent for great lakes shipping, or having the navy shower you in money through drunken sailors doing debauchery (and building ships (which they are not doing and are about to lose contracts for and lay off a gorillion people lmao))

avoid the interior since its boring, theres no jobs (MUH OIL is seasonal and doesnt pay as well as it does in the states, and agriculture is only lucrative to the big guys) and the culture is all shitty cowboy wannabes

the west coast is owned mostly by the chinese so even canadians dont go there, hongcouver is rapidly becoming like pyongyang, just huge swaths of housing that no one can afford because it's all being traded between various holding companies, inflating the prices.

If you're going to school make sure you get a high GPA and make sure you get EXPERIENCE in school as in COOP.... take coop and make sure you get into a position and you're set.

College coops looked at gpa to filter so they would interview top GPAs first.

Other than that, any bars and food places around where you move are worth keeping an eye on, i'm in a small town and I know someone from the two bars in my town, they go through people pretty often so they post on FB when they're looking for a dishwasher etc.

Low crime.
Average detached house on the Westside, the half of the city where you'd want to live is
about $3.6million USD, but you can probably find a small condo for $1.5-$1.6 USD, if you're on a budget.
There are fucking loads of pretty flowers, flowering trees, flowering vines, flowering bushes, flowering everything.
Hardly ever snows, except in the mountains. And when you need a break, LA is less than 3 hours away and Maui is 5 or 6.
Great restaurants, parks, beaches, shopping.
