reporting in for /still in bed/
I like /comfy/ threads, we should have them more often
>>1114264
have you got anything planned for today OP?
>>1114328
did you end up going to the beach the other day?
>>1114361
My family did, I didn't. It's fine though, I dont like the beach much anyways
I think I'll play some geimus today.
>>1114327
not really
i'll probably ride my bike around town or something later for something to do
>>1114375
do you live near the beach?
I find it weird that some people would consider going to the beach a "holiday", because I'm within 15 minutes of two beaches
>>1114378
what games?
i'm replaying psychonauts at the minute
>>1114393
I was thinking of playing some 100%OJ campaign so I can unlock some levels to host games on.
>>1114393
i want to live on a comfy little island country
i've only ever been to a beach a couple times
>>1114393
Well it isnt far but definitely not that close, just shy of 2 hours.
Who else /likes to take walks but can't because they're afraid they'd get jumped in this part of town/ here?
>>1114457
I don't have that problem, but I do like going for walks
>>1114457
I'd say I do but this town is too safe for that to happen.
>>1114457
I have to worry about bears instead
>>1114457
I live in a pretty small town, I'm just afraid of what people will think of me if they see me walking alone. I might even meet people I know.
>>1114457
Same
>Go back to England for holidays
>Cool, it's hot and I can walk down the park and lakes
>3 stabbings already in the month, five burglaries and someone's house got torched in the same town
>I'll just sit in the garden and read then
Honestly I monitor the crime watch page for the major town next door just for the shits and giggles but I don't want to walk through their parks for the life of me
what's everyone listening to?
I've had this on loop for the past couple days, since another anon posted it an a comfy thread
https://soundcloud.com/offthejump/headhaunter-scumbag-blues
>>1114513
I was about to ask this
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t9snMjrIW_Y
>>1114457
Don't really have that problem.
There's alot of stray dogs in my part of the city but most of them will leave you alone.
>>1114513
Ohh you know, the usual stuff (atmospheric metal)
>step on trap card on card tile
>bad pudding
>lose 1 pudding
>draw 1 pudding
>>1114490
Woah. England is criminal.
>>1114520
There's bgm in this game and it's not bad.
>>1114465
I like walks too, but I'm staying with my parents for the summer and I don't like where they're currently living. It isn't super sketchy, but I dont want to take chances. I miss walking to class!
>>1114474
Do you have bear repellent?
>>1114480
>what people will think
Probably that you're going on a walk
>>1114490
Oh wow you have it much worse than me. I just know there have been shooting, kidnappings, muggings in the past but nothing super recent, nothing like arson
>>1114535
>Do you have bear repellent?
Yeah, my spray and horn. And if that fails I have my tiny knife so... Well at least no one will miss me.
>>1114535
>walking to class
what are you studying?
>>1114547
Ya ever get lonely out there on that island anon?
>>1114541
Are they grizzlies? That must be scary
>>1114547
My major is chemitry. Mein Nebenfach ist Deutsch
>>1114564
No, I'm lucky and just have black bear
Either way if one attacked, I'd be dead
>>1114541
In what fucking town do you live in?
You must live in the middle of nowhere if you have to carry bear repellent with you.
>>1114557
sometimes.
i've never been a very social person. I'm usually content with my music and vidya
>>1114564
I probably would have done chemistry if there was a course for it on island. but it was like 1/4 the price to do an IT course, which was my second choice
>>1114580
You're right!
I live in a little village in the middle of the woods, more or less. I like the peacefulness but I kinda wish I had more stores and junk.
>>1114588
At least we have each other, Anon.
>>1114592
That actually sounds pretty gomfy...
I live in a city of 90 000 people, feels bad man.
>>1114564
toll
ich hab auch für ein paar jahre deutsch studieren. aber mit gespräch bin ich noch immer ein bißchen schlecht
>>1114604
My village has less than 500 people
>>1114604
>your city has a larger population than my country
>>1114611
>country
Don't kid yourself, buddy.
>>1114615
we're technically an independent nation, thus a country
>>1114628
I know. I was just goofing ya.
>>1114534
Nah. It's just a low income heavy druggie area.
I live in a council house that my family ended up buying. It's worth fuck all because of the area.
>>1114535
Arson is real common. On the way to taking my ma to the local knitting club there was a burnt out motor bike with police tape around it asking for witnesses for what happened there.
You drive like 30 mins up the motorway and it's a nice chill countryside.
>>1114592
I was in Saint John, NB on placement and I got really freaked out how quiet it was. I've always lived in urban areas so going to a a dead quiet place where it was 40 mind to the local wall mart creeped me out.
None of the roads had lights on them either.
No wonder why you guys hit deer so much.
>>1114611
>isle of man: 87,780

i don't know what to make of this
>>1114607

>Mfw there's people outiside right now playing basketball (there's a playground outside of my apartment building) and it's pissing me the fuck off
>Mfw I'm surrounded by corn and wheat fields on one side of the city and a river on the other side.
>Mfw the nearest rural town is 23 kilometers away.
>Mfw the nearest national park/forest is 30 kilometers away
I want out of this shithole.
>>1114642
>I got really freaked out how quiet it was
I guess if you're not used to it it would be a little spooky. I personally love it, the sounds of birds and frogs singing you to sleep is just...
>>1114573
Well I'm sure it's plenty dangerous, but black bears aren't really people killers as far as I'm aware; just scaredy cats. But that's easy for me to say when I don't have to stare them in the face
>>1114588
Everything is the same price here, but IT is probably better nonetheless. I'm not super sure what I'll be doing with this degree.
>>1114606
Ja ich auch. Deutsche sagen mir immer: du bist so schlimm oder dies ist nicht richtig, aber ich denke, dass ich ziemlich gut bin. Natürlich ist mein Wortschatz nicht so groß aber ich versuche
>>1114683
if I wanted to do the chemistry degree I would have had to go off island, which would have made it really expensive. I like IT anyway
>>1114683
The only time you have to worry about black bears is when they have a cub desu
>>1114683
ja
wenn ich probiere, zum beispiel die nachrichten zu anhören kann ich fast gar nichts verstehen
>>1114676
When I got used to it, it was heaven. It was weird though, I caught a tan and had more barbecues out there than I ever did back in France.
I saw snow for the first time too while out there, got chased by a raccoon the size of a small child.
I really got into QMJHL too while out there. I've never been a fan of the NHL but they were much more exciting and wild.
>>1114732
many thanks Daniel spectre
>>1114692
May I ask in which province of canada do you live in?
>+4 atk buff and that christmas bunny plays that stat reversing card
This game can be emotional.
>>1114726
You should try camping in the middle of the woods Anon. It's so comfy but can be a little spooky, like the time some linx started screaming at 3AM.
https://youtu.be/rbmObjwrB5U?t=64
>>1114692
IT has a lot more jobs anyways; that's good. Speaking of which, how is that going? Weren't you doing some sorta interview or something that you needed clothes for?
>>1114716
>Nachrichten
Ich schaue einfach Anime mit deutschen Dubs an desu. Deutsche haben keine guten Sendungen
>>1114741
What're you playing?
>>1114755
100%OJ
I just had my own rocket dropped at me. Cruel.
>>1114747
Have you ever been camping?
If yes, do you have any camping stories?
>>1114755
the interview went well, I should find out if I got the job in the next week or so.
The shoes completely fucked up my feet though. the friction tore all of the skin off my heel and i've started getting blisters.
>>1114766
Yeah but honestly nothing eventful ever happens to me. The spookiest thing was those lynx I mentioned earlier.
I guess you can call it both lucky and unlucky I haven't had any incidents.
>>1114747
I have heart conditions, I don't need that. Christ.
I was thinking of doing so when I was put there, since the campus was surrounded by woods. I didn't know the extend of wild life other than deer sticking their heads through windows, I decided against it.
Comfy country though, I'd like to retire out there when I'm older.
>>1114778
Yeah, thoose lynx sound fucking creepy.
If I was camping and heard that, I would think it was a fucking Drekavac, and probably would have ran home like a pussy.
>>1114794
Spooked me for a few minutes, just got annoying when they did it for over an hour.
>>1114791
It's a great place to retire to
Be sure you get a cabin near a nice lake if ya don't mind mosquitoes too much
>>1114804
What did you think it was when you heard it for the first time?
>>1114820
I guess I'm getting old and rational because I just thought it was lynx even though I had no idea they could make that noise.
I was with a buddy at the time and he was arguing that it was some kind of bird, maybe an owl.
>>1114827
Yeah you're much more rational then me.
I probably would have tought it was a Drekavac or a Psoglav or some other creature from our fucked up mythology.
>>1114777
I'm glad to hear it went well but wtf, did you not wear socks?
>>1114839
one of them skin-walkers?
>>1114765
What am I looking at? This just seems hectic
>>1114849
No, not skinwalkers.
We have much, MUCH more fucked up cryptids.
I'll tell you about them if you want, but they're pretty fucking disgusting.
>>1114848
shitty cheap leather shoes from shoezone. never again.
>>1114871
Yeah do it! I like filling my head with scary stories of monsters in the woods.
Makes campfires more fun!
>>1114876
>Shoezone
Man even in the Essex shithole they went out of business.
Cheap shoes are one thing but those are Chinese toilet tier for just falling apart and fucking your feet.
>>1114903
at least i'm employing the 3rd world
>>1114869
...You don't have 100%OJ?
What, are you even human?
>>1114876
Oh damn. That was just after one time?
>>1114876
Bandage that shit my boy
>>1114889
Ok I warned you, they're pretty fucked up.
First we have the Drekavac, >>1114871 pic related
They're bassiacly souls of children that have died before they were baptized and so, they came back to life as a fucking zombie/gremling hybrid looking thing.
The name "Drekavac" derives from the word "drečati" whitch means "to scream"
So it's name literally means "the screamer"
They roam the woods/countryside and fucking scream all night, they also attack people and livestock.
The only way to kill it is to baptize it or burn it.
I'll tell you about the Psoglav if you want to.
>>1114925
I wore them for about 3 hours, probably walked less than 3 miles/5 kilometres in them. they also fucked up my toes
>>1114924
I think so, and not discount either. I'm guessing the game is fun
>>1114949
You need new shoes
>>1114947
Th-that's not scary at all haha
Tell me about the Psoglav now
>>1114949
>>1114876
Holy shit.
Three hours.
You could tape a knifeset to your feet and end up with more intact skin.
>>1115098
>>1114969
>>1115072
This one, is actually not that scary.
It's bassiacly a Werewolf.
They have a head of a dog, a body and arns of a man and legs of a horse.
They also have only one eye.
They kill and eat people, they also dig up graves and eat the corpses.
I'll tell you about Baba Roga if you guys wanna hear more.
>>1115101
>>1115113
It's like a scary furry OC
Keep posting about your monsters, Anon. This is pretty neat.
>>1115125
>>1115127
Next, the Baba Roga.
Theese are pretty similar to the Russian Baba Yaga
They're witches that live in the woods, eat people (especially little children) and cast curses upon unsespecting villages (kinda like villages like yours)
They can also revive corpses from the dead and turn thoose corpses into vampires
Alot of women got killed in the times of Medieval Serbia because the people thought that they were the Baba Roga.
>>1115170
>kinda like villages like yours
Thanks, Anon...
>>1115198
Want more?
We have plenty of nightmare fuel.
>>1115221
Yeah this is neat
>>1115221
Lurking waiting for more
>>1115131
Where'd ya go bloody foot island anon?
>>1115275
i'm lurking, waiting for more serbian folklore
>>1115286
You bandage your foot up yet?
>>1115235
Next we have the "Leptirica"
Bassiacly a Serbian female vampire.
They come in the form of a night botterfly (as the name says, because the word "leptir" means botterfly)
They can also come in a form of a woman, however they have a row of sharp teeth, so they try to hide their mouths.
They seduce men and then they drain them of their blood.
Alot of women ALSO got killed back in the medieval times because people tought that they were the Leptirica.
>>1115170
i've heard about the same thing happening here
if someone was accused of witchcraft, they would be tied to a stone and thrown into a river. if they drowned, they would know they weren't a witch. if they escaped, it was because they were a witch so they would be burned at the stake
>>1115296
no, currently soaking them in water
>>1115319
>Implying anyone likes women
Anyway, want more?
>>1115356
Yee I want more
>>1115366
Next we have the Bauk
The Bauk is told to hide in abandoned houses, holes and caves.
They wait and then grab their victims, and then carry them away and eat them.
But they are extremly fat and clumsy
They can be killed with fire, and scared away with noise and light.
They produce this earee sound that sounds like fingernails scraping against wood.
If they ever go out in the sun, they will immidiatly die.
>>1115366
Also I'm kinda running out of cryptids and creatures to talk about. There's a few more, but that's about it.
>>1115625
B-but I always go into abandoned houses
>>1115675
NIGGA WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING
THE BAUK WILL GET YOU.
>>1115684
Bring it on
>>1115695
Make sure to bring a flashlight with you.
They're scared of light.
And if shit goes down, just burn the house down.
Btw I only have one more legend/creature to talk about.
>>1115719
>the old abandoned house near me was burned down
D-do you think it was someone trying to escape the bauk?
>>1115729
OH MY GOD
THE BAUKS HAVE REACHED CANADA.
>>1115748
NO SOMEONE SAVE THE MOOSE
>>1115766
YOU KNOW WHAT TO DO.
BURN EVERYTHING.
>>1115766
The day of the rake has come. Not at the hands of man, but those of the Serbian beast
>>1115785
You got it senpai
So what's that final spook?
>>1115804
The Nami (no, not the one piece character)
Now I don't know if this is exclusivly Serbian mythology but I've heard about them.
They are souls of the children that got lost in the woods.
They roam the woods at night, and they glow appariantly.
They try to lurk children into the woods by mimicing voices of little children.
They then confuse the kids that are lost in the woods and leave them to starve.
Once they die, they become the Navi.
The only way to kill them is to somehow get their souls out of the fucking woods, if that fails just burn them (I'm starting to see a patern here).
>>1115870
>if that fails just burn them
I love Serbian mythology
>>1115880
Yeah, for some reason, It seems that my ancient ancestors were a bunch of pyromaniac Slavs who liked to burn shit.
so now that we're done with Serbian folklore what do you want to talk about?
>>1115904
Ohh geez, Anon. I'm not an interesting enough to start a good conversation.
I'll just start spouting memes.
>>1115920
So, what do you think if our folklore Anon?
>>1115936
Lot better than the aboriginal folklore we have up here desu.
As a misogynistic pyromaniac, the focus of women hate and burning things just speaks to me.
>>1115948
Aww thanks, I'm flattered.
Is there anything more you want to know?
There's a shit tone of legends here too.
>>1115972
Any spooky old haunted castles?
>>1116009
No, not really.
We have castles, they're just not haunted.
When I say legsnds, I'm talking about folk heroes who fought the Byzantines, Bulgars, Magyars (modern day Hungarians) and Turks.
Some of theese were real historical people, some of them were not.
So, what do you say, wanna hear about them?
>>1116034
Yeah sure why not?
Would be neat to learn,I bet island lurk anon will like it too
>>1116056
Alright then.
Grab some popcorn and a drink.
If anyone else is lurking in the thread tell me.
With that being said let's start.
Also tell me when you got popcorn and a drink.
Then I'll start.
It's pretty /comf/ at work right now.
>>1116056
You there?
Should I start?
>>1116069

>>1116160
ALRIGHT LET'S BEGIN.
>>1116159
that sounds kinda comfy desu
shame i don't have minecraft
>>1116160
The first folk here we have is a guy by the name of "Marko Kraljević"
He existed in real life, and we don't know much about him other than:
He lived in the 14th century, started out as a Turkish rebel, then became their Vassal and then died while fighting the Vallachians.
Now, there's a shit tone of stories about him, one of them being "Marko drinks vine during the Rammadan". Bassiacly in the story, he fought a battle against the Turks and then, as an act of deffiance, he proceeded to drink vine during the month of Rammadan (this is because the Turks are muslims and he wanted to offend them). There's an absolute fuck load of stories about this motherfucker so I can't tell all of them.
Now, in real life he became a vassal to the ottomans after being a rebel.
So you might ask why is he a folk hero.
Well bassiacly, after his death, the Battle of Ankara happened.
And the Ottomans were too weak to hold their territories in Serbia, so Serbia broke away from the Empire
It is because he was a rebel, and then died just in time for Serbia to become it's country, that he became a folk hero.
Sorry if it took long to write.
So, what do you think about our most well known folk hero?
>>1116259
>So, what do you think about our most well known folk hero?
offends muslims and doesn't afraid of nothing
10/10
>>1116159
i'll get minecrap just to play there kek
>>1116268
YES. TANKS ALOT
Sorry if it took long to write, want more?
We have alot of stories about theese fuckers.
>>1116259

>>1116285
Yeah keep going
I'm enjoying learning this stuff
>>1116278
Please do
We need more guys
>>1116305
Ok, I'll tell you about some Hajduks.
Hang in there, this might take a long time to write.
>>1116324

>>1116313

>>1116345

>>1116363
Yes it is goy
I'm not comfy at all
>>1116406
feel better?
>>1116406
What's stopping your comfy?
>>1116305
Let me tell you about a guy called "Stari Novak"
He was a real person, and he was also a Hajduk (a rebel against the Ottoman Empire)
He became a hajduk at a young age after he was captured and beaten by Turks.
He eventually became a captain of his Hajduk group, and then helped fight the Ottomans during the Long Turkish war.
He fought under Michael the Brave, and bassiacly was a thorn in the side of the Ottomans.
Now, there's not that many folk tales about him, however he is still well known in parts of Serbia.
Some folk tails about him enclude "Starina Novak and Knez Bogosav"
He helped liberate the cities of Tergoviste,Bucharest and Giurgiu.
He single handedly liberated the city of Plevna with only 1,500 soldiers,
Sorry for the long wait, what do you think?
OH SHIT HOW LONG DID IT TAKE ME TO WRITE ALL OF THIS.
heya, glad we're still feeling comfy here.
>>1116457
Soo, what do you think of our folk hero?
>>1116473
he seemed like a badass
we need more men like him
>>1116485
I agree.
What do you think, If he was somehow alive today and he had to fight ISIS, who would win?
>>1116503
I dunno, could old military minds really comprehend new age warfare?
>>1116540
Probably not,but we'll never know.
What else should we talk about.

The MOMENT i stepped foot outside of my apartment, he called me and said he fixed it.

>be early-mid 2000's
>Boy Scout camp
>Staff is having what they call a "cracker barrel" where basically when everyone is asleep they have food in the dining hall (think antipasto or a cheese platter)
>some guy starts taking some food
>he's wearing a red scarf, covers most of his face
>nobody recognizes him
>guy walks up to red scarf guy
>"Hey-"
>Red scarf guy runs away
>probably some stupid teenager trying to get free food
>Next day
>Red scarf guy is standing in a parking lot where everyone is
>definitely not a stupid teenager
>they call the ranger (they used to have a ranger with a gun and everything)
>Ranger shows up and goes to talk to the guy
>red scarf pushes a kid out of the way and starts running
>ranger takes aim and shoots him
>everyone is in shock
>walks up to the dead man
>fucking gets up and sprints across the lot again
>Shoots him again
>he's dead
turns out he was a migrant worker high on meth and he fucked into our camp. It's a true story, and there are lots of other stories about the camp if you guys wanna hear them.

>school year starts
>i've gotten a little thinner and stronger than i was before
>PE lessons start (our teacher would just give us a ball and tell us to play whatever we want kek)
>got picked last
>pretty nervous (even tho it was just a PE match)
>"c-can i go on the goal mates?"
>"sure anon, just don't fuck the whole game up like everytime"
>the game starts
>there's an attempt on my goal
>i jump into it and just pretty much made an easy catch (tho from my fatass 12yr old perspective it was a worldclass save kek)
>the lesson ends
>everyone are making compliments about me being a good keeper (nobody else knew how to play in the goal kek)
>ff 3 years of casual playing
>15 at the time
>not fat anymore, i was just chubby then
>skills increased
>made some friends (as autistic as me but still)
>play with them every weekend for whole day
and now quick story how i almost lost my fucking balls one day
>playing in the goal as usual, practicing penalties and freekicks with my classmates
>one guy who played at an actual club wanted to play with us
>we agreed
>"i'm gonna shoot some freekicks and go home"
>"whatever, go on mate"
>he shoots a fucking meteor right at me
>ok, i'm gonna just ca...
>"OH MY FUCKING BALLS HOLY SHIT I AM FUCKING DYING RIGHT NOW HELP FUCKING ANYBODY HELP" i thinked
>he runs up to me
>"oh shit sorry dude"
>i get up
>calmly say goodbye and go home
>walk into my room
>scream as loud as i can to cease the pain a little
>couldn't walk for the rest of the day and my stomach hurted as hell
it isn't that interesting but i'll write anyway because it brings me memories kek

>quickest path is through abandoned and supposedly haunted campsite

>a few hours later and he comes up the same way he went down and needs to pee again
>no latrine to be found

>>1117441
It's a camp with lots of kids, and it had literally just gotten back into business after being closed a few years. the last thing they wanted was a pedophile or something trying to hurt kids and get the camp sued. he was trespassing on private property so he did what he had to do.
Here's a question for EVERYONE.
If you could describe your town/city in 5 words or less, what would it be?
>>1117472
Rich, persian, drug-addicted Jews
>>1117472
Peaceful and out of the way
>>1117472
Tiny retarded town
>>1117472
Boring, poor
>>1117472
Thug, ghetto, park, boring, exurb
So, what does everyone wanna talk about?
>>1117304
Now about my first competitive game
>16
>think about starting playing in an actual club
>there was one nearby, low level but at least i could play competitive (they had an actually good stadium with decent grass, which was pretty rare then)
>first day
>already had some friends in there because they were playing pickup games on the non-club field where i played
>i trained there, and once the main keeper was sick and couldn't go to a game
>i was the second one so i had to be picked
>"anon, you will play in the first squad tommorow as we don't have anyone else" said the coach
>nervous as fuck, my first real game
>"ok, i'll do that, why wouldn't i? i'll play like a pro, i can do that, right? can i?"
>whistle blows
>hands are shaking
>and my defenders were completely crap
>one guy from my defence fouls a dude near the penalty field
>freekick
>i jump into the air
>extend my arms
>everything feels like in slow motion (i'm not kidding, just like everything was 90% slower)
>the ball touches my gloves
>i fall onto the ground
>it hurted but i was the most happy man in the fucking world right at that moment
>the match ended 0-0 so it felt like i saved my team from losing
I'm going to sleep, lads. Keep on being comfy and posting stories!
I'll see ya in the next one.

Do you have an Xbox?
Tried yesterday installing it on my JTAGed Xbox 360 and crashed when I booted it up.
Started out as a reserve
Soon promoted when deserved
And the legend has begun
With a bounty on his head
The red army wants him dead
Soviet enemy number one
Cross of Mannerheim
Addicted to the war game
Never-ending flame
Victory reclaimed
Oh, we remember, we remember, we remember
Shout, Lauri Törni's name
A soldier of three armies knows the game
Keeps their echo from the past
Rise from beyond your grave
Son of Finland and the Green Beret
May you rest in peace at last
Lauri Allan Törni
Across the water a new start
War still beating in his heart
A new legend has been born
Started out as a reserve
Soon promoted when deserved
Changed his name to Larry Thorne
Cross of Mannerheim
Addicted to the war game
Never-ending flame
Victory reclaimed

Oh, we remember, we remember, we remember
Shout, Lauri Törni's name
A soldier of three armies knows the game
Keeps their echo from the past
Rise from beyond your grave
Son of Finland and the Green Beret
May you rest in peace at last
From the Finnish lakes
Into Germany and USA
All the wars he came across
Cross of Mannerheim
An iron cross, a bronze star, purple heart
One distinguished flying cross
Shout, Lauri Törni's name
A soldier of three armies knows the game
Keeps their echo from the past
Rise from beyond your grave
Son of Finland and the Green Beret
May you rest in peace at last
