OP Idk if you're still in here, but I've been a HR Generalist for about 12 years now so I like to think i'm this is sorta my thing. As long as you're not a salaried, and are hourly employee this is 100% illegal. Report to your state dept. of revenue/work, as well as the federal dept. of labor. I would recommend you actually go to this 'training' as in the end you may be entitled to more compensation then if you just flat out refuse.
