Not because they are unimportant issues, but because the people who understand them realize that they are all merely symptoms of the greater issue. Several things need to happen for America to become somewhat healthy:
Being a capitalist nation, corporations need to be accountable for their own operation and finances. If there is a bailout to ensure that the country doesn't crash, the corporations should essentially then belong to the government so that it can be more assured that the bailout money will be put to proper use.
Military spending needs to be cut. We spend too much. A 5% cut would be like 30 billion dollars that could be used for so many other things. One way to cut spending would be to buy things for how much they should really be worth. I have heard that the military gets totally ripped off on a lot of hardware that they buy, but I don't have the specifics.
I also think that the ultra rich should be greatly taxed. I know that they already have high taxes and they only take home like, 60% of what they make, but I think that if you are making millions of dollars the tax rate should be even higher. I think some sort of system that takes extra money from the ultra wealthy but puts a good percentage of that extra money into a local projects slush fund directed by a democratic committee with the surplus refundable at the end of the fiscal year would be good.
