Best Guitarist /b/? DISCUSS
Let's be real.
There can be only one and that one is Petrucci
>ten minute guitar solo that just feeds the soul
mfw I heard it for the first time on 3 tabs of LSD
Personal opinion being elitist lmaooo okay Mr. Jimbo go play your Fender someplace else
The correct answer is Wayne Kramer
My favorite, that's for damn sure.
You all have some pretty mean choices, Stevie Ray Vaughn and Hendrix are some I can put in top 10s. But Angus rips and shreds in a way that gets the true rock in your soul rollin
No one mention JOE BONAMASSA
I don't know about best guitarist, but I really like Will Swan. My favorite rift of his is the one from Rock Solid though, so...
best guitarist threads are just silly.
i bet most of them have nothing but respect for each other while their fans fight each other like little children.
that being said, i have lately been impressed by john 5.
ok now i've got to comment about steve tarberry
i think he's a fine guitar player and musically he can put together a damn fine song, but...
I hate his fucking goddamned face. I seriously can't stand to look at his fucking face. His face is more punch-able than seth mcfarlane. I hate the way he acts, I hate the way he talks, I hate the way he looks and I hate his goddamned fucking face.
Misha. Not to mention he's /ourguy/
HENDRIX OR ZAPPA
I'm not saying he's technically the best..but musically and tonality wise he's the man. Love his sound and harmony work in the old less known albums!
This dead, fat bastard shreds circles around every guitarist posted here
Truly greatness. It's almost as if these guys have never heard acid rain by LTE
Duane Allman is hands down the greatest slide guitarist to ever play. At least the 2nd best guitarist in general. Man could pick up an untuned guitar and make absolute heaven ring out from the strings.
He actually composed and performed his own shit. Also, he would implement jazz and funk into his classical pieces. Segovia is a legend but his far from the best. Julian Bream is better than Segovia.
Segovia was the first major classical guitar player but better interpreters have come along after him. Plus the fucker wouldn't play any Antonio Lauro.
faggot, you talk abput his riffs, but his solos are really pentatonic, go fuck yourself, you don´t fucking know the difference between a riff and a solo?
also, his riffs are very generic of thrash (mediocre thrash)
You know, it`s ok if you enjoy Metallica, but put him is a list of best guitarrist is stupid.
maybe not the best but isaiah mitchell is pretty neat
Some great guitarists: paco de Lucia (flamenco) John williams/ segovia (classical) Jon nodtveidt (extreme metal) petrucci (prog) George Harrison (fucking underrated and genuinely hella talented)
Could anyone else could have made Kill em' all as unique and memorable as him? And who else could possibly sing AND play Holy Wars/ Hangar 18. I cant find a man who is alive and as amazing as Dave Mustaine
Fucknthid faggot. So overrated. Stole everything from Albert and Greddie Kimg amd them played it too fast. This guy sucks along with the legions of faggots who try to emulate him.
As much as I love Gira. He's not even close to the best guitarist. Not technically anyway. Though he does only ever play what's apprpriate for a song, which is admirable. Checked regardless.
Petrucci fans might smile at this.
RIP Shawn. What a great human being.
Tom Morello is my favorite. It's nice to see an instrument played with a unique technique.
>pic not related
Django Reinhardt only had 3 fingers
Dweezil's done an absolutely outstanding job of carrying on Frank's work.
Another great guitarist who's an even more amazing human being.
I don't see many Jeff Healey around here
He can still play this.
Healey was so good. His style was so cool to watch, as a guitarist myself I always thought while watching him and thinking mostly "how the fuck does he do that?" that must be how non-guitarists feel while watching standard technique.
Thinking about how much I miss the work of Michael Hedges.
Sonny Landreth has such a unique slide style.
>no one mentioned randy rhoads
Was just about to post this pic....
No fucking Allan Holdsworth?!
anyways, here's my personal favorites
>Al di Meola
Derek Trucks is the best out there right now. He got all the feels and an interesting style that's new and old all at the same time. He's a very cool and down to Earth guy too.
Rob Guz is pretty fucking good. I like M.A.N, but listening him not held back is a great experience.
He reminds me a lot of this guy.
Roy Clark and Buck Owens were great together (seen here with the also great Jerry Reed).
Any guitarist will tell you that
His album with Tommy Emmanuel is so good.
"Smokey Mountain Lullaby"
You have it backwards. Kirk does very little other than write occasional solos or riffs (or in the case of Harwired, he LITERALLY did nothing) and Kirk borrowed almost all of the solos Dave wrote while in Metallica. James was never a great singer, but neither is Dave. I think the most pathetic thing here is that you still insist on feuding about Metallica vs. Megadeth. They're both great bands filled with great musicians.
There's no worse punishment than being a guitar legend of Jason's caliber and not being able to play guitar for the rest of your life. I have to give him props for hanging in there for so long.
I don't know whether surviving ALS as long as he has is a blessing or a curse. To be trapped like that...I don't think I could handle it.
I hope he does OK as his parents (his primary caregivers) get older and pass away.
You are a connoisseur thank you and he's the best friend of the bassist of all time inventor of slapping Larry Graham + friend with best musicians in the world this guy is the emperor of all musicians
This guy is fucking multiinstrumentist and know bass piano and a ton of other instrument and compose alone his albums it's surhuman
Tina S...an amatuer...but cute as...and she can shred...check her out on the tube
