Taking %40 in taxes on somone who makes $40,000 a year hurts them a hell of a lot more then taking %80 from someone who makes $10,000,000 a year.

$1-$50,000 = no tax
$50,001 - $100,000 = taxed at %30
$100,001 - $150,000 = %40
150,001 - $250-000 = %50
$250,001 - $300,000 = %90
$300,001 and up =%99

So if you make $150,000 a year you pay nothing in tax on the first $50,000 and then the remaining $100,000 is taxed at %30 meaning you would pay a total of %30 a year in taxes.

The higher tax brackets would encourge the owners to reduce they own pay since it would be next to worthless to make beyond $300,000 a year and would result in higher pay for the people doing the work.
